I cannot believe how accurate this sounds. Trying to learn Omar's shit always feels impossible because of the amount of effects and sheer weirdness of what is actually being played. Thanks a lot for this, helped me a lot with some the parts I struggled the most.

My pleasure Diego! Of all the tutorials I've made so far this one comfortably took the longest to figure out. Yeah Omar rarely holds back in Volta (and most of his other projects), there's always so much going on. Glad I could help

Figuring all this out must have been a monumental task. Bravo

My God what a beast of a track. It amazes me the sheer creativity Omar had while writing this, and a short period of time between this and writing Frances the Mute only some months back! It's crazy how Frusciante had to learn all these weird ass parts. Excellent tutorial man! Terrific job! Would love if you did the same for Tetragrammaton or Meccamputechture!

It's a monster isn't it, took me all day to learn all the parts by ear! Omar was on a different level through the 00's with TMV and all his solo records, just such a huge output of interesting great music. Thanks so much for the kind words, might have to get back and do some Mars Volta again soon!

@@davedoingguitar by ear? Dude you got talent! Keep it up! Gotta see your Radiohead vids of whose music I am also a a fan of.

@@BTBAM819 yeah was a bit of an effort haha. I learn most things on my channel by ear, sometimes off live vids if in struggling. But yeah got a few radiohead ones up too. Enjoy!

This breakdown allows you to see a lot of similarities with king crimson's guitar work. A lot of LTIA I, II and III influences there.

Yeah absolutely, a lot of those angular single note lines. Love KC, Fripp is the man (and Belew!)
