@slimbrady66916 жыл бұрын
And people say he can't sing live. btw cedric needs to go back to this hair style, it's so badass.
@brujafe6665 жыл бұрын
They probably just say that because they forget the entire career before his vocal chords were finally shot.
@ExternusArmy5 жыл бұрын
Friendly Worm, I wouldn’t say shot, just aged. He’s getting old and hitting 5th octave notes which are too high for most women to hit is just not reasonable for a day to day basis for a male singer. He can still sing, just doesn’t have the same range which isn’t a crazy concept for an aging man. He is usually only off key or bad at singing when he was younger and usually on a lot of drugs. All good things come to an end, and TMV burned bright, and that includes the vocal capability of Cedric.
@dimayurkovetsky40604 жыл бұрын
gaylord right, but it’s so fkn sad(
@groovydeath3 жыл бұрын
@@dimayurkovetsky4060 I agree. I regularly feel sad over his vocal capabilities diminishing and also the end of the band. The saddest part about it is that if there is ever a new album, the singing won't quite be the same without him being able to hit 5th octave. And if there is ever a reunion show, I can't imagine it will be great since Cedric will not be able to hit 70% of the notes.
@groovydeath3 жыл бұрын
@@ExternusArmy "Shot" may unfortunately be correct. Cedric developed a condition called vocal cord nodules in which benign white masses grow around the vocal cords which heavily interfere with the ability to sing by changing the sound of the voice and causing pain when speaking or singing. It's majority of the time caused by overexertion of the vocal cords. if Cedric ever sings for Volta again it will never be the same.

@exprincejohnny2873 жыл бұрын
The irony is that it was ONLY Mars Volta fans as it was a special invite only show sort of thing. The event was awful as they made the crowd fake applause and dance/head banging for B-roll footage. This intro of them walking out also took 3-4 attempts until the event was happy with it. They also cut the show mid way because I guess a normal bands set is normally 1 hour and they had no idea the Volta’s set was 2+. They also played Televators acoustic which is missing from this set. I know this because I attended this show

He’s an aging singer with years of drug abuse who has never really cared about how he sounded or technique. His career has been emotion based, not really as much technique. Don’t think he or Omar care so much about being perfectly on pitch as much as they care as about presenting the rawest emotion they can think of.
