Glad to see you guys have some perspective- so many people dismiss Phase 4/5 entirely out of hand, as if there’s some selective memory that neglects the multiple projects that have been pretty widely loved, or at least liked.

It's always the people that only hopped on the MCU once IW and Endgame were popping off. Anyone who has been with it since the beginning knows it has plenty of bangers but sometimes it's just okay.

@@jizzledoops6789 I have been watching Marvel movies since the beginning and I can say that while there have been a couple good movies since Endgame, there have also been some of the worst movies in all of the MCU; Quantumania, Love and Thunder, Eternals, and Multiverse of Madness. This of course does not include some of the stinkers on Disney +.

I think the thing a lot of people forget, or ignore, about the first Captain Marvel movie is that at the time the movie starts Carol had been trained by the Kree for several years, after losing her memory, to control her emotions. So it makes complete sense that the character would be extremely restrained during the movie.

I feel like this is the first movie where the Disney+ shows are starting to play a huge role and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they connect everything.

The Kang that was in the Quantum Realm was exiled there before the Multiversal War ended, and we know He Who Remains was the one who later ended the war as per his exposition in the Loki S1 finale. So nothing in the Loki show set up Quantumania. It's only effect was the post-credits stuff

@@loganbigmo You're taking time too Linearly. The Multiverse war was across all space and time. As such, there is no "before" the war. It either happened, or is removed from existance. He who Remains, culled all the other branches, suppressing the Multiverse War from ever truly taking place. When he was removed, that "History" was able to reoccur. Without Loki, those events would just not really exist in the multiverse.

Kamala’s powers are actually from her “mutation” interacting with the bangles.

Not really. According to Ms. Marvel directors, the bangle's power is the light energy, but we've yet to see the full extent of her mutation. Me personally I think her mutation is embiggening, which is why in her show we see that she can enlarge her limbs within the light energy, and in the final battle she uses embiggening to get bigger.

Brie filmed her scenes for Endgame before even starting filming her solo movie so the way it's played in Captain Marvel was obviously deliberate because of everything Carol had experienced since the Kree fucked with her mind. The fact she and Maria were in the airforce and tomboys should tell everyone Carol was always quite confident and asured of herself before anything happened. Carol and Maria achievement for being part of the force as women at the time was huge, In Captain Marvel Maria's like "About to show these boys how we do it. You ready?" and Carol then replies with "Higher, further, faster, baby." so this might have be quite a healing and elevated moment during the marvels and could come after Carol and Monica have had their big showdown about Carol's absence even when Maria was suffering with cancer. Coming back after being snapped to hear her mother died a few years prior to being snapped back and was alone would have been tough for Monica to hear i'm sure. Brie Larson is an Oscar winning actress and achieved that before any talk of her ever being CM. MCU being talked down upon by certain people is quite something when the actors playing these characters have either won oscars or multiple nominations. Seeing the universe being a one that's connected as a negative when so much went into making that possible is also ridiculous to me. Seperate stories that don't connect the heroes is something I think would be a easier way for Feige if he only cared about money and not plot and stories that wouldn't need to have extra care when it came to plotholes and making sure it flows. The diney plus shows have been too much in terms of how many there are tbh as the quality hasn't been great after the first run of shows that had WandaVision and Loki. A few of the shows didn't need to exist as that's the only part where I've struggled to keep myself interested tbh. The Marvels has always been one I've never lost interst in though and got even more excited to what Carol and Monica's first interactions were gonna be like then Carol and Kamala's interaction and if Kamala's hero is all she hoped she was. Their powers connecting is fascinating.

Monica is actually a movie character that went to tv then back to movies. The actress is a tv actress going to the movies. Also, the thing about them being/having fun is more in context. Stark was more of a mask. Something Thor learned from him. You see Thor's mask in Infinity War. Carol was fighting to be this character in her movie. The Kree tried to get rid of this side of her and it comes out at the end of the movie. Star Lord is kind of a man-child like SHAZAM in that he was kidnapped as a kid that was raised by pirates that didn't teach him to be an adult, so that's how he knows how to be. Dr. Strange is arrogant so he is the mask that Stark puts on.

I am so thrilled to FINALLY see this film scheduled for (more or less) definite release! I've been DROOLING to see this for 4 YEARS now! As for the ladie's uniforms, I agree they all look terrific for this film & Captain Marvel's in particular is BANGIN'! The one TINY complaint I have is that I really. really, really, REALLY miss Cap's Sash because, it is SO iconic! I mean I can think of at least half a dozen superheros with capes, but how many have a SASH???? Only one! (Well, come to think of it, Cap's protege, Ms. Marvel also has a sash, but I mean, of COURSE she does - she's a total Captain Marvel fan girl!)

Said to my friend the other day, MCU since Endgame get’s an unfair rap. I think BW was a 6, Shang Shi a 7, Eternals a 5, SM3 a 9, DrS2 6, Thor 4 a 6, BP2 a 7, AntMan3 a 5(further away I get from it the more I think it was completely the wrong choice) and Guardians 3 an 8. That’s on a scale where 5 is a truly average movie. That isn’t a terrible run. In a post (sort of) pandemic world people point at the box office numbers, but when you take into account the entire box office is down 30% on pre pandemic levels thing don’t look so bad. SM3 could have made over 2b, Thor, BP2, DrS2 and Guardians 3 all would have had a good shot at crossing 1b. AM3, SS, BW and Eternals all probably would have made 600m+. As mission impossible is proving even a great movie doesn’t guarantee a good second weekend

My problem with Phases 4/5 is that they haven’t felt special like when we were just waiting for movies with bated breath. There was so much since WandaVision happened and it has been overwhelming. They we went from having us want more to “hold up, slow down please”.

Unfortunately, I feel like the MCU movies are less movies nowadays and more like TV shows themselves in that they're more about pushing forward the story than making sure that every shot is a beautiful photograph. So much of what you see in one of these is reshoots based on feedback from test audiences to see if the message gets across that the art dies a little. That's my little complaint.

After Endgame, I was so down to see how this Multiverse was going to play out and man was I terribly let down. I didn't watch the movies, because i wasn't interested in any of the movies except Spiderman: NWH. I did however watch all of the shows. Wandavision, Falcon and WS, Loki, What if, Hawkeye. I watched them all and it was a serious 50/50 bag for me. Wanda was good, but I felt wanting more (just not a the good way), F&WS was not good (i felt it had pieces of a fun puzzle, but they were jammed and forced together), Loki is honestly my favorite (felt the most fun and intriguing, I wanted more in the good way), What If was a blahhh (Only 3 episodes to me were worth while, the rest were trash or mediocre at best) and Hawkeye was okay (I had a good time, but didn't feel i needed more of that story, almost like a One-Off Comic). I was doing okay, but the track record to me was not doing very good. End of 2021 and I was feeling okay. Not too high, not too low. I didn't care to watch the movies (BW was pointless to me, Eternals to me looked like a trainwreck, Shang-chi was the only one i had watched and it was a solid 3/5, OK, KF scale, SM: NWH was just freaking a dream come true). Then Moon knight happened. I have never in my life changed my tune on something so fast. I was excited for the future of MCU, then 2 episodes in on that show I said to myself, "Nope not worth it. I think MCU is finished and I am throwing in the towel. I quit." I have only watch Thor 4 since and that was because I was bored and drunk and high (not bad of a movie if those 3 factors hit your slot machine on the same night). Since then, I have not watched anything MCU related. I Want to be excited, but I think I am Supered out. No more MCU, no more DC just no more Comix movies. I only care about DP and Spiderman. I think IW and EG were the pinnacle and it will never be matched again. I will return to Phases 1-3, but nothing after will I return to or want to watch. Hell even gave up D+ because the quality of stuff to watch to me was not worth the price of admission. I hope maybe they can return to form, but I doubt it. I only now look forward to reactions and thats it from KF and others. I am not hating on anyone who still loves MCU or becomes a new fan, but to me MCU died in 2021 after NWH. Since then it's been MCU Zombies pretending to care about their creations.

The only character that I like out of the three of them is Monica Rambeau, I did not like Ms. Marvel and I hated Captain Marvel. I have a feeling this is going to flop hard in theatres and unless this movie ends up having something to do with the wider MCU then I think it would have been better off as a D+ show. Also, I hated the Beastie Boys remix they used for this trailer, it was god awful.

much like the printed comics back in the day, no matter the publlisher, sometimes you don't like a run, an artist, or such and you dip out, but it's not that you hate the characters or medium, it's just not the path you want to take right then and there. my book collection is not 'full run' of a series, it's what I found good here and there, and not every character was getting my time or money back then. People really need to one provide real feedback and not their echoe chamber hate group fist waving and companies need to focus on quality and that not everything can be nor should be 'blockbuster' driven nor expected.

When do we get Kamala Khan to die in the MCU? I'm looking forward to her coming back as a mutant. EDIT: Didn't finish the Ms Marvel show (personal stuff) so I didn't know that SPOILER In the MCU she already is a mutant 🤦🏿‍♂️ Carry on 🤣🤣🤣 CONTEXT: Marvel just killed her off in a Spider-Man comic, Death of Superman style with a big funeral, while at the same time showing off on social media her new mutant redesign. She's only being temporarily killed off for continuity in probably the fastest turnaround for a character dead/rebirth in comics. REALLY excited!

I loved Phases 1-3 and think Phase 4 had some good moments but this phase feels so uninspired and just more set up instead of living in the moment and telling the best story you can. My guess is this is about the quality of Antman 3 and Thor 4. I hope I'm wrong but the villain doesn't seem to be interesting another bad guy who has been wronged by the super hero's out for revenge, the way it's shot feels like most other MCU shows without much flair from the director and there doesn't seem to be much story just....bad guy needs to be stopped and in the end I bet they do it without much changing. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse shows that people aren't tried of super heros but MCU feels like more and more they are spinning their wheels, and its all about setting up for things vs just having a good story and at the end credit something is set up.

Phase 5 currently consists of: Ant-Man 3 Guardians 3 Half a season of Secret Invasion There's hardly anything to judge yet if you ask me
