That's not how you write good compelling stories. That's how you write a SNL skit.

I think the problem is, Marvel's trying to recapture the "golden era" when the golden era only just ended with Endgame. They're already trying to push Kang as the next big threat. They're already trying to build the Young Avengers. Any "new" characters they've introduced are just offshoots of characters we've had around since the beginning, She-Hulk, Kate Bishop, Ironheart, all younger versions of the Avengers. Nothing feels new right now. Focus on X-Men, Fantastic Four, Blade etc. Give them more interpersonal stories with their own big finales to those stories. For X-Men it can be the House of M storyline as an example. Instead of trying to chase lightning in a bottle again.

Well the Quicksilver appearance in Wandavision was what's commonly referred to as a "Bait and Switch" as it wasn't actually that Quicksilver. It was supposed to actually be her brother a.k.a MCU Quicksilver from Age Of Ultron, but they just used the Fox X-men Quicksilver actor to tease us, then play it off as a joke of sorts. The Professor X in Dr Strange 2 wasn't the same as the Professor X we know from the Fox X-men films, he wouldn't have the same history as the one we know of.

There were so many nonsensical things in The Marvels, but one of the dumbest was Ronin’s Hammer somehow retaining some of the Power Stone’s power, because Drax DESTROYED Ronin’s Hammer at the end of GotG by shooting it with Rocket’s Hadron Enforcer gun, shattering the hammerhead and releasing the Power Stone. Ronin’s Hammer was destroyed and its fragments were left on Zendar and presumably confiscated by the Nova Corps… so how the F did Lady-Ronin get her hands on it? Considering that the Power Stone destroyed any organic matter it came into contact with, IF the fragments of Ronin’s Hammer retained some of that power, it would’ve been impossible for anyone to handle them and reforge into a new hammer. But apparently that happened all off-screen so the audience just has to accept it. It’s so DUMB. And LAZY. And INSULTING to the audience. The Marvels overall was insulting to MCU fans. It feels like we’re being PUNISHED for being fans of the great Phase 1-3 MCU films.

The only reason Goose clawed Nick Fury was to explain how he lost his eye. Which was stupid Retcon as in Captain America The Winter Soldier states in a conversation with Nick Fury and Steve Rogers the last time he trusted someone, it cost him his eye. I was hoping to see some big betrayal by someone close to him but that never happened. Again just made me hate the movie of Captain Marvel even more for ruining a potential plot in setup in The Winter Soldier.

Just shows the oversight behind the movies is loosely monitored and that they don't give that much of a shit about making everything feel interconnected. In Iron-Man 3 and Shang-Chi neither characters were the true Mandarin. I was pissed off seeing even with two movies trying to use the character couldn't get him right once. Then Ghost was pointless, Taskmaster was not the Taskmaster and gender swapped for no reason. Sigh Marvel is garbage. Sure they have a few more movies that are better than DC but that is such a low bar. And now everything coming out from Marvel is DC quality. They need to reboot everything and take a break from the movies.

I watched the movie a few hours ago. Characters mention multiple times that Hala's sun is dying. I said, "That's all? So why can't Carol just light up the sun herself?" It took them ANOTHER FUCKING HOUR before that thought was provided by Monica and finally carried out by Carol. It took me FIVE SECONDS to think up something that Carol didn't even contemplate while running around in space for THIRTY YEARS! This script is not just rushed when it comes to the collective character arc of our heroes, it's also riddled with stupidity. I get that Carol's supposed to be characterized as someone who rushes in without thinking, but she should have been able to sit down and think about some ways to help the Kree and Skrull all this time.

As for Goose suddenly having babies, I think the “set up” was when Kamala’s mother mentioned that Goose was looking kind of plump. It’s not a good set up and I only realized this the day after watching the movie, but I think that was the only line where somebody mentioned the cat looking different than normal (well, as normal as Goose can be anyway). As for why and how Goose suddenly became pregnant, all the eggs suddenly hatched, and they just so happened to be exactly what Fury needed to help people evacuate: 1. either Goose has some kind of premonition powers and acted in preparation for what was about to happen. 2. Bad writing. 3. A page from Guardians of the Galaxy somehow ended up in The Marvels.

Fun fact: Disney is contractually obligated to cast the Fox X-Men for any reoccurring X-Men characters until 2025. It was written into the contracts that Fox signed with them before they were acquired by Disney, and Disney acquired those contracts when they acquired Fox. They CAN'T recast them until at least 2025. This is why every character who was in the Fox X-Men movies who has appeared in the MCU since the acquisition (Quicksilver, Professor X, Beast, and Wolverine) are played by their Fox actors. They have no choice.

Come to think of it, why is Ms. Marvel in this? Her powers were awoken by the bangle in the Ms. Marvel tv show, but they are inherent to her because she’s a mutant… what? Scarlet Witch got her powers from the Mind Stone, so Monica essentially gets her powers from the Mind Stone as well, whereas Captain Marvel got her powers from the Tesseract, which was the Space Stone. So one gets her powers from being a mutant, one from the Mind Stone, and the other from the Space Stone. Why the fuck are any of them linked to each other? They all get their powers from completely unrelated sources in the MCU.

I honestly think Iman Vellani was the only "saving" grace in this film. She is acting her balls out, nailing the zoomer mannerisms and she just genuinely looks and sounds like a believable starstruck teenager. She is doing great with Kamala, to me, she went from just ok in Ms. Marvel to GREAT in The Marvels.

It's one note and SNL vibes yet again. So it isn't her fault. They literally since Endgame have tried makings EVERYONE like Tony's humor and it never ends, not even here. I did appreciate her feeling remorse for putting them all in this situation as she wanted venegance on the Kree government. I wish, Dar-Benn had something worth fighting for to have an actual motive to fight her. Like idk. She accidentally caused a Kree family to die under rubble. (Which would make sense in the 1st act on why she made the Skrull Refugee Planet get demolish to kill likely remaining survivors) JUST ANYTHING like idk PARALLISM. Holy shit. That would've worked nicely. Carol actually being seen as a villain as a flip and trying to redeem herself for causing collateral damage to innocent fellow Kree. Then Dar-Benn goes overboard and tries to kill Kamala, then she personally and brutally murders her by trading places with putting the bangle on - then switch the villain ends up roasting in the sun. Then seeing Kamala and Monica's shock that she actually "Annihilates" others and isn’t perfect, but more like an anti-hero. 😂

To be honest I liked the singing planet. It shows that Marvel isn't afraid to take risks and is trying to keep things fresh. If they didn't take risks then people would complain about it being the same as every other Marvel movie. Roger's the Musical from Hawkeye was the best thing to come out of that show.

I liked the idea behind No Way Home it's execution was just as messy as The Marvels. If it wasn't for the nostalgia there is nothing of note in the movie. It also setup the gimmick Marvel occasionally uses to try and boost hype. Look look it's Patrick Stewart now look over here it's Kelsey Grammer. We did the thing and got John Krasinski. Come on consume our products were do the thing. GOTG 3 was really good though I think it was mostly because it was it's own thing and it's characters had well character.

The way they introduced both Spidermen just walking on set through a portal showed an insane lack of inspiration. I also wanted to see the villains wreak havoc in New York more in the climax. I was like why are we glossing over the fact that a kid with no knowledge or training just used a highly powerful magic item. A item that we saw elite sorcerer's training to use in the first Dr. Strange! Also I have to agree that it was it was pretty nice of the villain's to do nothing of note while the Spider trio set up a trap. Not to mention the plot reeked of One More Day the worst Spider-Man story ever.
