I get what you are saying. BUT in the hands of ppl that actually know how to use humor say a Gunn or a Whedon, or a Russo Bros. (all these ppl have had years of perfecting this) In the hands of an amateur. It will fall very flat. Ex. When Tony is talking to Loki about how his plan will fail as he's serving himself a glass of scotch, then he slides into how there is no way they will not Avenge the earth. Disney must have waaaaaaaaaaay too many "YES" men/women running the show, this is like the 4th MCU movie that has come out post-Endgame that has been like disrespectfully bad in so many ways. Not only is it disrespectful to the actors/actresses playing these roles, but it is a slap in the face to the fans who have been here since Iron Man 1. How can they release these movies and expect us to gobble it up, no questions asked? I am with you - until they fix whatever the hell the problem is - I am not buying any tickets for these upcoming movies (besides Deadpool 3, so help me if they botch this one). I never thought I'd hear about an MCU movie being as bad or worse than Quantumania/Thor: Love and Thunder, but it seems that Disney is full of surprises.

There ARE fantastically written films and shows with strong female characters that will appeal to both sexes. Disney is only looking for crap stories, execrably written to wrap around female characters no one cares about. But after watching and suffering through IBS from The Marvels, I watched 1883 and it restored my faith that there ARE good stories with fantastic writing for strong female characters that both sexes can relate to. I dare anyone to watch the first 4 minutes of Episode 1 of 1883 and not want to find out more about Elsa Dutton's story. Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Sam Elliot give outstanding performances with cameos by Tom Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton. But it is Isabel May as 17 year old Elsa that steals the show and is at the heart of not just 1883, but also all the seasons of the shows 1923 and Yellowstone with Harrison Ford and Kevin Costner.

Phase 1 - 3 story all revolved around the Infinity Stones. Phase 4 - 5 story revolves around the Pander Stone. It's destructive force is much worse to the MCU.

I'm with you on that. I can honestly say that some of my favorite movies have been female leads. I watched every resident evil movie. I have watched most of sigourney weaver's movies. I can't tell you how many times i've rewatched the underworld series with kate beckinsale. Charlize Theron is one of my favorite actresses. Angelina Jolie was great in every role I've seen her in. That whole "you hate women" if we don't pander to this current agenda trash...is just that...trash. Poorly written, agenda filled, hateful trash...is still trash...no matter who the lead is or what body parts they have.

As soon as Marvel started embracing the "multiverse" so much, I knew it was over. It created totally lazy and stupid scriptwriting, with NO STAKES or sense of actual danger for the characters. Everything can be solved with a "oh she's from an alternate universe" line and that's that. "Spiderman: No Way Home" at least utilized the gimmick well, but its going downhill fast.

Weak plot lines, bad dialog and no back story to let audiences invest in the characters. With The Marvels, I left the theatre when Nick Fury yelled, "BLACK GIRL MAGIC!" +Double Face Palm+ The toughest non-superhero in Marvel-verse reduced to a cat-holding simp. At least I was saved from singing planet. But, between that IBS inducing movie and now I was led to the show 1883 and I discovered that great acting and scripts still exist. That, strong men and strong women CAN exist in the same show. Sam Elliot, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Isabel May with cameos by Tom Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton restored my faith. Just the first four minutes of Ep One of 1883 made me want to binge watch all ten episodes. Then I followed the Dutton family and binge watched 1923 with Harrison Ford and on to Yellowstone with Kevin Costner. What makes these movies suck? #1 cant violate the pedastool of their female leads. Because its Feminist driven, they arent allowed to have flaws. Flaws are part of good fascinating characters. Without flaws the characters are flat. #2 Overpowered female leads. So every one of the trio is the most powerful being in the universe, be it strength or knowledge. They are all essentially the same ultra powerful character. Booooring. #3 Plot holes are inevitable. So whats the point? Why am I watching this? These are the types of questions that cross our minds as nothing makes sense. Their power and flawlessness makes any and all problems pointless. It becomes dumb and breaks our suspension of disbelief which is what makes movies and series fun.

The mid credits scene was so bad. The CGi character looked like the performance was captured on a tick-tock filter. It's as bad as Bethsaida Skyrim NPC voice acting. The dead eyes were a real jolt.

I think the movie was a lot of fun and i enjoyed watching it. I understand why some dislike it but many are being harsh about the MCU’s current state. Cmon, don’t act like the MCU WASN’T hit or miss before Endgame.

Every critic states the same thing about this movie: Iman Vallani is the star and the movie almost made you like Capt Marvel. But the lack of any coherent plot and another stupid villain (see: Dark Elves) makes me scared. This stuff writes it self. Have Deadpool meet Loki in the Tree of Life and that’s the plot of Deadpool 4: Deadpool versus the TVA.

I actually had a thought, this Captain Marvel movie should have never been connected with ENDGAME. It didn't need to be connected, why because the first time I seen this character was when she was already in a coma. Lazy writing is all I can see, and these writers have forgotten the origins of these characters in the comic books. As far as I am concerned, they threw stuff at this movie without any thought! Ohh Yes, I have been done with Marvel Studios for a while, along with SW too!

Why is Carol's costume from the Snyder Cut, while Monica is a Power Ranger? And I like when costumes are "comic book accurate," but Kamala's look is CW colorful-camp. I miss when Marvel characters' costumes had some functional design to them. Thor wore some funky stuff, but he's a god, not a kid from New Jersey.
