The laughter in this show sounds so artificial, I swear to God, they sweetened it in post-production. Compare the *genuine* laugh from a actually well-delivered joke at 1:06 (it goes on for a bit longer, and someone coughs) with the four very fake laughs at 1:40 (they begin and end very suddenly). It’s almost as if the performer didn’t leave enough of a gap to edit in the laughter because no one was laughing in the studio. Look again at 3:08. Again, a short, sharp burst of laughter can be heard (if it were real, it would last longer), but when it cuts back to the audience they are barely even moving.

Perhaps Doctor Who's confident female lead could be made a success in the role by the addition of a similarly sweetening laughter track. The guffaws could be made to seem to burst forth from her oh so terrifying vagina. Or maybe it's already been quietly giggling to itself for the past two series, but nobody has heard it over the sound of the show's once loyal audience walking away.
