Assuming there are other Yanks who are as addicted to UK panel shows as am I, here's the background on the show: The Mash Report is a British comedy on BBC Two. It satirises the news and is hosted by Nish Kumar. First aired in July 2017, it is a TV show spin-off of The Daily Mash, a satirical website.The first series comprised four episodes. The second series, of six episodes, began broadcasting on 18 January 2018.

This "armed policing" piece is so trippy as an American. On the first hot day of the summer a few years ago, I walked the 3 blocks from the train to my apartment and passed a cop in full body armor holding an assault rifle at the ready. I asked him what the hell he was doing there, and he said that he and the police force wanted to make their presence known, because the first days of summer usually have a major spike in crime. I told him that they were just making it worse and went home. Ridiculous.
