Yeah, I know we worry, “Am I that guy?” And maybe we are. Or maybe we’ve been Tyler at some point. I still say it’s the lesser of two evils. Tyler’s experience is something that happens to someone every day in Hollywood. Multiple someones. And the more likely outcome is that they are enticed into a cult when they’re down and thoroughly demoralized. I’m not talking about Skientologie, which is a legitimate religion. I mean the pernicious secret cults like UCB or Groundlings. They seduce aspiring performers with promises to teach them about sketch comedy and writing. Soon enough, they’re paying more and more for “higher levels” of comedy enlightenment and worshipping dead mythic figures like Del Close. I’m not saying that UCB or Groundlings are a front for the Chinese CIA, but I’m not saying it because I don’t want to get sued.

@flagrant_surmization9 ай бұрын
@@Fung43 i find it interesting, equally as the commenter your reply is addressed to projects their feeling as to perceive this piece, you do the very same in your analysis of them, almost as to reinforce your understanding of these concepts. you say art is subjective yet refute that they recall the plot, therefore their perception of this art is foolish, however, they relate the art to their own subjective experience, though even a projection onto Conner wouldn't necessarily be foolish, as we don't know exactly why/what any of this is. i understand why that would make one a fool but as humans, we will be foolish in perceiving, especially with little prior fact/ knowledge. art is what the artist creates equally as it is what the viewer creates. i'm not sure they were projecting/ inserting these feeling into this character, but rather what i mentioned previously, making sense of it. they perceive this from their own lens, and from that perspective, see this project from Conner as a narrative, or at least pull meaning from the scenes in reference. What concrete information we have to go by here? That's just how art is internalized. I GENUINELY thought this was a real J Aubry-style case study on a guy that’s unwell. I’ve thought about it for days. Then today, I got the 103 fever video suggested and I was SO CONFUSED 😂 what a wild ride, I was totally fooled! 😂 happy to have found some great new comedy, subscribed!

Idk man it's like... Eric Andre and Andy Kaufman except trying to out-do them and push the envelope further even though they were already at the edge between funny and just insane. Performance comedy i guess. Matthew Silver doing that too. It's not super hilarious to me but it's interesting. Just with this guy here sometimes i feel like he's just trying to be crazier than them and it's not always funny.

this reminds me too much of my year-long manic episode. i used to be very self-absorbed while thinking that i was just being positive. i would talk to everyone about my ideas while preaching "i'll get them done. i know a lot of people don't get things done but i will. im different. if you believe hard enough, you can do anything. i will get my own fandom." i sounded like an anime protagonist, and even in the moment i thought so, but i thought it was charming. ive never been told off for this behavior and nobody has ever said they've noticed, but i know how it affected my mental state. i know how i was. i would wear sunglasses indoors cuz i thought they made me look like a celebrity and whenever someone looked at me strangely id unironically think "theyre probably just weirded out by how beautiful i look." i had always been afraid of death because i wanted to do something great that everyone in the art world admired. even now i try to fully prepare for having fans of my art despite having less than 10 followers on all of my accounts after half a year of posting. but the idea that you can do anything if you believe hard enough is, unfortunately, not always a healthy idea to have. it can delude you. you shouldn't believe that you can do anything, you should simply believe that you can be happy. it is still something i have to learn myself on the off chance that my art never goes anywhere at all. you can keep trying, but you've gotta accept what you get and just have fun in the process. don't focus anymore on the result.

All of your videos up to this point have been.. interesting, freaky, felt like they were always just teetering on the edge between performance art and insane garbage (but funny and recently SO well made), but my friend, THIS one tips the scale HEAVILY in the direction of real art. Powerful, heartwarming, terrifying, moving, beautiful, yet with that classic Conner chaotic freaky form. Truly, you are an artist, and I hope you make more, bigger, better things. Outstanding job. A masterclass of film making. Never have I ever been more gaslit by a mockumentary. The best bit is the one that took years of planning and patience. Conner clearly exhibits his dedication to the craft and this is substantiated when I googled "Colin Mochrie attacked by fan". Sure enough there's a video from two years ago posted on TMZ's YT channel that shows the assault from a different angle: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpucd42MlM12bNk
