Hello friends and welcome to a short update video! As I'm sure you know - the new Subnautica 2.0 update is now live and available across all platforms! In this video, I'll briefly summarize what the update contains, how you can get your hands on it, and how it will affect your modded setups!

The original Subnautica was released mid-2014. Other companies would have dropped the game and left it to rot, but the fellas from the subnautica team would never do such a thing!

I literally went from 30 fps swimming around in the mushroom forest to 120fps with the same settings I had. They really surpassed all my expectations. It's insane. I never seen such a massive performance improvement in any game before.

@@_ch1pset Is the terrain, grass, objects etc pop in issue resolved? What are your PC specs? Last time I played on my 1070 ti, there were noticeable pop in issues.

Some bug fixes: No more clicking five times every time I change the battery for the Seaglide. Just “Press F” to turn the map off. The Air Bladder now works much better and has it’s own oxygen supply. (I think the wildlife is affected when I use it, though, particularly the Floaters; they seem to plummet a little every time I use it to ascend.) And, as far as I can tell, my Prawn suit no longer falls through the floor of the map when it failed to load in. You can rotate the Moonpool now when you are placing it before building. One bad thing though: The Table Coral only gives you one now when you slice it, instead of the three to five it used to!

I’m glad there’s a dedicated button to turn the map off now, before I had to cycle between map and light, light off map on, then map off light on. The map never really helped me, it just got in the way, so I’m glad I can easily turn it off now like in below zero

The table coral thing is weird. I remember it used to only give one per plate, except in Lost River where it usually split into two. It was only about a year ago it did that for safe shallows plates.

2014 This game is over 8, almost 9 YEARS OLD And still, this GOATED dev team is still putting out consistent updates, polishing the game, fixing a plethora of bugs and glitches It’s honestly very admirable, how dedicated the team is to Subnautica and Below Zero. For me my frames drop now when i pilot seamoth and the movement isn't as smooth as it was before the update.

@@darkdragonpl9229 I'm on pc and I've noticed the seamoth now has a slight delay when turning left and right however the camera is now fixed where it used to be angled weird sometimes, I much prefer slight delay over having to re-enter the seamoth to get the camera straight

See this is why I love the dev team, they listen to the feedback and work on the glitches and issues. GameFreak happily releases one third cooked Pokémon games, then dismisses or outright ignores the criticism. Unknown Worlds, you’ve got integrity and it is very noticed and appreciated.

I was thinking a few day ago, while playing below zero, that the first subnautica really needed the large room. Now, it's just perfection. These two games are probably my favorite. The atmosphere is incredible, and that's what i'm looking for in a game.

I love this update! I've already put a glass dome on my Quarantine Enforcement Platform house, and I can see the gun tip pretty well through it. Working on making a large room with glass dome so I can see the reaper I've stuffed in the mushroom cave.

Something I realised is that they also fixed the glitch with the doors that could make walk underwater/swim in ur base. I have not tested if worlds that already had it active will have it removed or of they will become rare. Anyways huge props for taking some time out of ur days to make this video.

I did my first ever Subnautica playthrough about a month ago. I’m glad to hear that they’ve fixed the glitch where prawn suits randomly get stuck inside the alien bases. Makes me want to go back and get all the achievements since I used dev commands to spawn in a prawn suit after it clipped through the terrain

I first played the original Subnautica on PS a few years back. After that I played it on both PC and Switch. Recently I got back to the PS version (after this update) and I don't know if I'm imagining it, but it does certainly feel a lot smoother somehow and the terrain loads better nowadays? Can't say for sure though. Maybe I just got used to it while getting better at using the controller 😂 I'll have to get back to the Switch version soon and see if the gameplay itself on that has improved and then visit the PC ver too. Either way this update is amazing and I'm suuuper happy that they did it!

Happy as everyone else, and eager to see how it all fits in the game I started a new game. On xbox X. 2 hours in there are some new bugs: pda voice is very quiet (except when to warn of oxy/food/water needs), a stalker outside spawn lifepod is trapped in a salvage loop dropping tons of teeth, and the aurora explosion countdown occurred before the 2hour notice. Still happy with all the changes. And love this game!

I’m very happy abt this update, it saved my 100%, over 120 hour save file that I’ve had since like December 24th, 2020 that wouldn’t load because of some issue related to the cloud save corrupting

2:05 finally I couldn't find anything about the jittery walking on land bug when I looked for it a few years ago and didn't look again so it's nice to know it was a real bug and that it got patched

Before this update, their was a bug on PS4 where when you exited your PDA, the game would pause for about a full second. But with this update that got fixed, and I am so happy that it did.

In my playthrough a few years ago, I got stuck outside the map at the literal end of the game. Had to use no-clip to get back in lol glad to see they're trying to fix that.
