I think that the interest of the 3 films was not centered only on the action scenes or on the story of the characters, but also on the philosophical significance they contained. The Matrix saga is above all an initiatory journey, a journey that Neo makes from the first film, even before the start of the film, we see him in front of his screens doing research on the rumors of a Matrix and on Morpheus. We see him making his own choices but above all trying to understand the choices he makes. And through the hero, the directors sent a message to the spectators: what are their choices and why do they make them? are they aware of their choices or are they automatic? In the reaction to the second film, you wondered why everyone wears sunglasses, but it's to show that they are awakened beings, out of the Matrix, that they no longer see the illusions of the simulation. and it also forces the people looking at them to see their own reflection in the glasses, thus prompting them to do some introspection. So Neo doesn't need the eyes of the Oracle, because he already has a prescience ability from the second film when he sees Trinity's death in a dream. What he has to do in the third movie is understand and agree to make the best choice for both races, humans and machines. It is therefore normal that there are fewer action scenes in this last film : it is the film where we finally understand the stakes and the game of chess played between the Oracle and the Architect. There is even more symbolism in this third film with the Merovingian (the French Man) and his wife (Persephona), more religious references, but also more questions about what the golden code represents, about how Trinity was able to resuscitate Neo in the first movie, how come there are two different code colors (green and gold), how for each iteration the chosen ones all have the face of Neo/Thomas Anderson, how does Neo control the sentinels à la film of the second film and finally can a sentinel of the city of machines cross the ship and merge into the body of Neo... We can see there the analogy of a divine code, where a part/ an aspect of the machines is not only material but also spiritual, or we can imagine another level of matrix where real life is another layer of simulation nested in the first. The Saga Matrix is in any case a good societal criticism on the place of technology but also a social criticism which highlights the choices of each individual and his capacity and goes out of the norm of the conditioning of the majority to encourage to think for oneself -even (see Plato and the myth of the cave), the references that run through the films such as the book "Simulacron and simulacron" where Neo hides the computer programs that he sells is an example.

Gotta love how they have loved other comments more recent than yours that are just like “let’s go!” But you give a concise thesis on the films and it was either a tldr situation or they just don’t care xD

32:28: As a big Dragonball and Matrix fan i can't believe i never made that connection lol. Now watching this with that in mind is pretty funny. Neo could've done a Kamehameha and it would've even made sense in this setup :D It was pretty cool and fun to watch this trilogy again with you guys, thanks for that! There are only a few reaction channels where i watch the entire discussions, your channel is one of them. love your thoughts about the stuff you watch and im very interested in what you think (i am no native english speaker, so sry for bad grammar :D). 47:22: The fanboy's backstory is told in "The Animatrix", if you dont know that already. As i said in my other comments, i love this trilogy. If i had to rank them, which i find very difficult because i like all of them, i guess the last one would be my least favorite as well. Number one would be the first and then the second. I am curious what you will think about the fourth.

Very late question, but have you guys seen The Animatrix? Adds a bit more context to stuff while having its own self-contained stories.

Well Neo was to choose people from the matrix not current zion.

Right. I understood the architects speech to mean that they kill off the people of Zion every time they reset the Matrix and then The One corrals all the people who don’t accept it the simulation to Zion where the same will happen again
