One of the greatest mistakes Sandy ever made was not dealing Harvey off after the 15’ WS. That is not to mean anyone could have predicted the arm troubles he would have but simple logic. Harvey was never going to resign with the Mets even if there had been no regression in his stuff and even if he had ramped up to Sherzer caliber, Harvey was priced out of Flushing from day 1. With such a massive surplus in arms, Mets should have sacrificed one for the bat they desperately needed.

J O H N N Y 77 I see Harvey Becoming a free agent. I don’t think teams will jump on him really quick because he had some personality questions which is part of the reason he was DFA’D. Also you can’t throw him into the middle of a pennant race and say this is our guy for the rest of the way. I don’t think you can do that under these conditions. But if there is any team that’s going to take a chance it will be the Baltimore Orioles. They need pitching. Badly. Anyway thanks for your time and this is just my opinion

Why would anyone trade for him? Harvey's contract is $5.6 million, so he has something like $4.5 million due for the rest of the year. If he goes 10 days without accepting assignment he becomes a free agent, but doesn't get the rest of his contract. If you really want him just wait and sign him for less and if he doesn't accept that, oh well.
