What a Fantastic Band" they sound Great Live & those Melodies..Lever & Cry are my Fav songs, If they carried on with that type of wave, they could've matched Savage Garden in that Time Zone. God bless 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝕄𝔸𝕍𝕀𝕊❜𝕊

Shes so beautiful Becki. Met her out one night for a few moments at a club in the Vally, Bris (think it was Super Delux). Love this song, the lyrics, and her very Australian voice.

He says they were "off to see Kylie". I think that may have been at The Palais, which i went to also, and saw Matt there with Fiona Horne I also did lighting for The Mavis's back in those days at q gig they did in Morwell

Saw the Mavis’s at an RSL somewhere back in 95 supporting another band. No idea what that band was called, but again they were female fronted and had a witchcraft thing going on. The headline band, despite looking fierce, literally had no good songs. The Mavis’s, however, played a storming set from their debut album, including Thunder, which Triple j was playing on constant rotation. They were brilliant, and totally blew the other band off the stage. It’s so refreshing when a support band totally owns it like they did. They knew they were great, and they were! Good times!

Def FX?
@ricblow11 күн бұрын
Yeah, that’s the one. They must have known they weren’t a patch on the support band. The vibe in the room changed completely when they started up. Bit like the plug was pulled on a party.

@@ricblow Def FX were an awesome band, and very good friends of The Mavii. Matt was out often with Fiona a lot back in the day

@@markblanch2905 makes sense that they toured together then I guess. Maybe I caught them on a bad night.

@@ricblow I was thinking that was a possibility. Also, being a band that never had a drummer, among other things, May have made them not everone's cup of tea for sure

Got here by accident, I searched for TISM. Happy accident because I just remembered this band existing and remembered seeing this band live that I know for certain and I think it was because my mate knew the band and they were opening for the Tea Party. If they played that gig I should say thanks for the free tickets they gave us. If it wasn't them, whoops but I also just now remembered meeting that female singer in St Kilda cos I remember I loved the dyed hair. Sorry I was on a lot of drugs at that time so my memories have gaps. Ok so I certainly met the singer, certainly saw them live and I am unsure whether it was because they gave us free tickets to the Tea Party gig or a totally different reason. Funny how a random KZbin click brings back memories you didn't know existed. I am so straight now but back in those days I was so lucky in random things
