@@katzea.a7880 There is only one Maya tribe now that hasn't converted to Christianity, it's the Northern Lacandon Maya if I'm not mistaken. They descend from lowland Maya who fled into the jungle from Spanish conquistadors in the 15/16th century, and evaded major contact with the outside world until the 19th century. Their brothers with a similar history, the Southern Lacandon were also pagan until the 50's when they were converted en masse.

If you think about the idea that the world ended in 2012 according to the Mayan calendar (meaning it starts over) that would've been the end of the 5 cycles during a roughly 8 year period. I don't know if the numbers actually match up, but this year would be the end of the next 5 cycles/8 year period and the beginning of the next 5 cycle/8 years. I'm certain that I'm wrong in this, so don't quote me on it.

@@sosensualandfree Most of us humans can easily find ways to distract ourselves from our minds. Most often even without realizing we are escaping reality. I'm not speaking for all of us, just asking: How often do we actually sit in silence and just watch, or listen. To hear nature around you. To see the stars or the skies. To feel your heartbeat, to feel the invisible breeze that moves the leaves of a tree, watching a bird flying by, watching our thoughts pass by without judgement. To be purely and exclusively paying attention to nature and ourselves and be one with that what surrounds you.... Bla, bla bla. I could ramble on. I just think that if I (or we) were to replace more of the time I spend distracting myself in one way or another, with a certain form of meditation/thinking or just watching, I'd have so many more revelations about reality and my life! :)
