The Mazda RX-9 Is Back in 2023, Mazda will finally launch the RX-9 in 2023 with hybrid-rotary power (though the brand hasn't officially confirmed anything yet), and will be targeting a power output of around 370 killo Watts.

No they tried that, this is a little tiny rotary engine that continues at the same RPM to power up an electric motor. And a hamster running on a wheel for extra boost of power. 😢 But true! You have to even feed the hammster twice a day and replace ever couple weeks.

This car was too beautiful back then so ALL the other competitors got together, piled up few billions of US$$$ and sent it over to MAZDA . That way, they brought from Mazda a promise to NOT build or release this car for the next few decades, so they ( competition ) could catch up with the design. Fast-forward today (2023) apparently Mazda is very satisfied with the amount of money they must have gotten. They are sleeping on that fat pile of money.

The rx8 sold poorly. If they're smart, they'll throw in the towel and just make an rx9 with a tuned 4 cyl. I get the purists will disagree, but most people just want a sexy fun car that starts every time, if they're shelling out 30 grand or more.
