I ditched the BS surrounding a lack of units for everyone on this, and preordered the 800 dollar Hot Toys version. HTBB CANNOT be cancelled, it's over 3 feet long, and the first 200 units come with a 1/6 figure of the Keaton 2 Ice Princess. :)

@@Ibrahim_M Yeah I heard they did release a Keaton BM way back when. But this new one will be upgraded I'd say as they've done with the new Keaton Bat figure. It's Ht's way. The new Delorean I got last month is much better than my Mark 1--better lights and overall quality. I was not old enough to have my own money when the first Keaton car issued so I am anxious to figure out where the heck to display this new monster next year. May buy a new house for it. Other than what you pointed out, which I agree, there is one more nitpick the nozzle tip needs to be drooping downward. I think Mezco Batman is a great choice, but not sure if its true to 1/12 scale, as Keaton is short..so may be S.H.figuarts one is more accurate not in likeness but in scale.

You’re absolutely right about that nose tip! I think the only company to get that detail correct will be Jazzinc. As for the scale, the mezco Keaton is actually appropriately small- it isn’t totally obvious until you put it next to another mezco without the cape on. But the body is essentially the same size as their MCU Spider-Man figures! Just more muscular. I was honestly surprised they did that, haha. But grateful! But all mezco figures seem to run a little larger than true 1/12 anyway, which is why I find that 1/10 vehicles are the true match for them. And in this case, McFarlane figures are supposed to be 1/10 but they run too tall, and this car is a little small for their figures, which makes it more of a true 1/10, so it fits a mezco 1/12 perfectly.

They put it up for order on March 15th, I believe, and it said it would ship out April 15th. They cancelled the orders on April 13th or 14th, literally right before they were due to ship! It was wild.

If you did costumize on of those 22 inch ,Michael Keaton Batmobiles. And was going to sell one of them, how much would you need for it. I have a 1/50 , 2 - 1/ 18 scale Die-Cast from movies Batman and Batman Returns and a Spin Master Batwing and Batmobile one Batwing 13 inches and the other 27 inches long both Spin Master. But I might be seriously interested in the 22 inch Batmobile being Customized

Oh man, I don't even know what I'd have to value that at-- It was probably at least a 30 hour project. So in order to make it worth the time and effort on top of a full time+ job, it'd need to be a lot to justify it-- at least $600. But the company JazzInc Dioramas is planning to make a really high quality 1/12 version in the coming months, and they're trying to make the cost around $350, and it would be very much worth it. Thanks, man! Yes! I should have given the caveat that I was talking about it strictly as an 89 version, and not what they might be doing in the new film. I do think the canopy height is unique to this toy, though. I think it was done strictly to allow the figure inside. The color could definitely be accurate to the movie. We'll find out soon enough!

It does! Very well, in fact. I didn't try it with mine because it has stiff hips and I'm worried about breaking it if I force things (that has been happening with some of these, unfortunately), but I've seen in a few other videos that it fits better than any other Keaton Batman figure, from the looks of it. The Neca one also seems to fit pretty well.

I'm truly waiting for the day that McFarlane loses the DC license and someone else gets it. I really dislike the 7-inch scale because they tower over all the 6-inch figures on my shelf. I wish Mattel reacquired the license and we'd get back to 6-inch scaled DC figures.

Thanks, man! Yeah, the scaling is really frustrating. I think the one saving grace is that they've put out so many figures in a relatively short amount of time, so at least it's not like 20 random offerings with nothing to display them with. And the call of the inner child is strong!

It's really odd to me that they went 7" instead of 6", especially given the company's history of 6" scale stuff prior, when the only other companies that consistently release 7" figures are Neca and Diamond Select, and their releases can be few and far between.

While the car looks nice (barring the dark gray canopy), I'm still waiting for the rumored actual 1989 Batman and 1989 Batmobile from McFarlane Toys to show up. I have the Batmobeast and the potential customization with that one is great despite my lack of customization experience.

That Batmobeast is a great base for a lot of things, I bet! Honestly, I think if they do put out an 89 Batmobile, it's going to be exactly this car with the little bat emblems being silver instead of gold. They would probably fix the color issue with the canopy, but I don't see them correcting the profile. There's been a lot of speculation on whether or not the batmobile has a different canopy in The Flash, but if you look at the version from Spin Master (and I believe on either company) it's exactly the same as the '89 version. I hope I'm wrong, though!

@@Ibrahim_M Speaking of the actual 1989 Batmobile, one online shop based in HK that I buy my toys sometimes just posted pre-orders for it at $116, bundled with the 1989 Batman. No official pictures for the car and figure from the store, sadly. It's probably going to be a Gold Label version.

Hot Toys is not paint inaccurate, the wheels on the 89 were chrome or silver with black tint sprayed on them, look again! The wheels were changed in Batman Returns to black

I've been to the WB studio lot and seen it up close. Aside from the wheels being black black (all wheels are silver metal until painted another color) the Hot Toys version isn't quite long enough in the nose, and the scoop at the very top is not quite the right shape. There are also lines from the rear fender to the bat wings that are a bit inaccurate. It's still an incredible piece, and those inaccuracies don't bother me personally. If you want to see a comprehensive breakdown, check out Jazzinc's channel, where they talk about the scan they got from WB for the 1/6 batmobile that they're putting out later this year. It's really cool to see them break down teh differences!

@@Ibrahim_M The one you saw in the studio has been refurbished 3 times since 1989. They repainted it for Batman Returns with the black wheels then a 3rd time restored the car to its current state with a very weird grey (the same they used for OnStar) which hasnt changed in years as it appears now in the tours & in The Flash movie. I have studied this cars history along with the copies that were made by Jay Ohrberg for Batman Returns. Seeing a lot of inaccurate information out there in videos about the Batmobile & people are customizing based off of those. If you want an accurate 89 look to your Batmobile the color is satin black not matte black, & the wheels are silver with black smoke tint (Tamiya makes this in a spray) leaving the center bat silver. The side pipes & exhaust are also black smoked, leave the front center nose piece alone its the right color. Id also smoke the headlights as well so they arent so bright

I've studied this a lot as well, including official information being passed down from the WB archives. I'm really surprised that McFarlane got the color of the nose piece relatively correct (despite it being too big and slightly the wrong shape).

@@isostormgamer5584 Sharpiue would be very streaky and it would show up with a reddish brown look to it, but you can get a small can of black glossy spray paint from just about any craft store or any store that has a hardware section (amzn.to/41S3W9g). You can either remove the canopy or just tape off everything you don't want to get paint on it and give it a couple of sprays and it'll look pretty good.

As far as the collective consciousness concerned, this is an '89 batmobile, and my intent is to use it as such, and I think it's safe to say that 98% of the collecting world views it that way as well. Keep in mind, we haven't seen a single frame of this car in The Flash movie yet. So calling it that would invite the same kind of skepticism and speculation as your question brought, i.e.: "how do we know this is the version from The Flash movie?", etc.

I was massivly disapionted in these. I bought 2 and as i speak im working on redoing the canopy. I colpetely disassembled it. One word CHEAP!! 60 BUCKS IS A STRETCH. This thing is maybe at best worth 40. But anyway. If you want a great, accurate ,easy to mod batmobile in 1/10 scale. Do like i did and find a richman rc 89 batmobile. I bought a body off ebay. Built the chassis and wheels. Working on movie accurate cockpit. This mcfarlane junk is sub par all the way around.....they built this thing as if they were bootlegers and didnt have the liscense. Its crazy to me why the hell they made it so cartoonish

The Richman RC version is REALLY great (and it’s frustrating to know that a 1/10 version of this car has been possible this whole time, lol), but it’s impossible to find for less that $500 other than the rare occasion you can find a junk one to restore, and the tires are almost always cracking and deteriorating. Either way they need a bit of work. For folks to have a mass-produced version that’s adorable like this is pretty great. To me the worth is all relative to the collector. But I think my cost breakdown in the video gives a fair angle on the price.

@@Ibrahim_M ,your review was very unbiosed and appriciated. You can ocasionally find a richman body. No wheels or chassis. I got the body for a steal and searched countless rc rubber tires till i found the right fit. Made the rims from scratch. I just today have took my mcfarlane canopy ....cut it down to be more angular and lower profile. Done bondo work and made the windows muuuuch smaller. It helps the look considerably..but still looks a bit like the small stylized hot wheel cars. Also added gas tank lids on the fenders. Im still rather put off by the giant turbine in the front. I just cant figure how the mcfarlane toy designers thought this was right. Its like they had never seen the batmobile or referance pics.
