Ohio's singing sweethearts, The McGuire Sisters, went to New York from Middletown, Ohio, and ended up getting their career started by winning on Arthur Godfrey's Dec. 1, 1952 edition of Talent Scouts program on CBS-TV. The trio sang Jo Stafford's hit, "You Belong to Me", and ended up as refgulars on Godfrey's variety TV program, "Arthur Godfrey and All the Little Godfreys" for years. Shortly after this appearance, sister Ruby (Ruby Christine) decided to go by her middle name and became known as Christine McGuire.
