Between being hanged by Undertaker and The Brood at WrestleMania, killing Al Snow’s dog and feeding it to him, wrestling Al Snow in the Kennel From Hell match at Unforgiven, and feuding with The Big Show over Show’s dead dad, Big Bossman had a wild 1999 to say the least.

Stephanie's reason for turning on her father was probably one of the best character motivations for a heel turn in WWE history because she definitely had a point that her father used her and put her in danger all for his war against Stone Cold Steve Austin. And she manages to be one of the most hated heels in the company which adds so much to the drama and anticipation for her inevitable comeuppance. The Authority angle definitely needed this version of Stephanie because she was willing to humiliate herself to get people over much like her father did unlike what we got where she rarely, if ever got her comeuppance.

what are you talking about? her comeuppance in the Attitude Era was Rock/Jericho encouraging people to call her a slut/whore. It was really not a good time for female heel performers. "willing to humiliate herself" , you just want to call her $2 slut, admit it. Rock used to beat her ass aswell. That kind of stuff would not fly in the PG era.

I agree, it was almost perfect. The only thing I would have changed, actually has to do with Jeff Jarett. When Jeff was getting heat for his match against Chyna, he put almost every woman into the figure four, even the makeup lady and Lilian Garcia! It was like, he had lost his mind! He had Steph set up for the move but either Test or shane saved her :( I think they passed overv a great opportunity. It would have got Jeff insane heat for his title match. And Stephanie would have got a lot more sympathy and could blame Vince for not paying enough attention to keep her safe! Wasted opp. IMHO Cheers from Canada

Yeah that storyline was so official! I really miss the days when there was actually some suspense and you would actually be surprised when you seen some of these matches. Nowadays it's so predictable that I literally can call exactly what's going to happen 2 weeks before the Pay-Per-View. Also WWE has this thing where nobody can take a clean loss, so it's always some b******* some interference or roll up! What happened to the days when m************ would just count the lights, then the next night you count the lights for them! If you're good enough character those losses don't matter.

As ludicrous as the story for the main event was-I totally brought into it. And I think the pre-match promo was really nicely done with some great music choices. This just felt like a very special time in WWF when things were really starting to cook. The making of HHH as main eventer which he solidified a month later in the street fight, Kurt Angle new on the scene, Jericho’s first title and that tag-team Battle Royale really highlighted the depth in that division. Also like JR referring to Australia’s Greg Norman as one of South Africa’s finest golfers.

If anyone wanted a jumping on point to watch the WWF in 2000, this show and the RAW the next night imo would be the best point. Side note: the RAW following this debuts best looking stage setup with the side trons

I might be alone on this but I would like to see Brian Zane cover Stephanie McMahon's run in the early McMahon/Helmsley era. The reason why I say this is because Stephanie's first heel promo on the RAW after Armageddon was quite impressive. Quite frankly, when she isn't yelling or screaming like a pre-Vickie Guerrero banshee, Stephanie McMahon can be a pretty decent heel.

Steph has proven over and over that she can be an excellent heel, she's terrific at getting heat and a crowd reaction. She definitely has inherited that talent from Vince, she's pretty great.

Gotta say, a lifetime around the business absolutely paid off for her, like pretty much immediately imo. She belongs to that section of wrasslin personalities that don't just "get" it, but they really GET it.

D-Lo being a friend of the show, True Story: He was talking with some ladies and he was making them laugh and he was talking about Sammy Sosa and he was like: "Why do you think he does that gesture, it's all 'Kiss my @$$, kiss my @$$.'." lol And after the show he was on his way out I asked "Why do they call you D-Lo?" He said "I don't know, that's just what my mama named me." Good talk. 😁

Been looking forward to this one.. definitely not the best show by any means, but when I was younger I had three faces of foley vhs, then armageddon 1999 was the first ppv I has on vhs. So a Lot of nostalgia for me, looking back not great but the jericho chyna, kane x pac and main event are all still good fun. I got a bit more lucky with my next vhs which was backlash 2000! On a side note I've had a very tough year this year and your channel has been one of the few constants that had helped me forget about things and entertained me when I needed it most so just wanted to say thanks!

Also implicated raping her too. But...he can't go to jail once he convinces her the ends justified the means because they both were done wrong by her dad. So they can grow into their love by the shared hatred of her father.
