MCU has been slacking recently. And although I'm still a pretty big fan, there are a couple nitpicks I have with the overall direction. This video isn't meant to bash the MCU at all. Just posting a video about my thoughts.

I agree with your quantity observation. I feel that there is also a quality problem. The new heroes are nowhere as dynamic or interesting. There are thousands of comics with some of the most critical fans in any literary industry and yet a room full of executives pretend to know better.

You know, this is why I liked agents of shield. There are so many people without powers that should have more screentime but are shoved aside. Maria Hill was killed off to be replaced by another super hero character. Bruuuuuuuuuh. So fking boring. General Humans should be the baseline for Marvel. And the humans need to do more work to take control of their world. Because they live in a wild wild universe.

They basically ended up in the same situations the comics ended up with. Loads and loads of characters, but big crossover events are rare. Usually each hero does stuff with their rogues gallery, maybe sometimes meeting one other hero and working together. Most of it sticks separated with that particular hero. The buildup to Endgame was basically introducing all the heroes, one by one. Villains show up. It is revealed they work for a bigger bad. Then the big bad shows up in person and all the heroes come together to beat him. When stuff like that happens in the comics, when the big bad is defeated, the heroes go back to their own series. And nobody reads every comic series. That is not required. When a crossover is building up, we get cameos and short crossovers to bring things together, but we don't need to read every issue of every comic to understand the big thing.

they need to realize they can’t introduce every comic book character because the comic books did this throughout DECADES of world building. meanwhile the MCU is just like bombarding us with these characters with some of their explanations being “they’ve been there all along” or whatever. it’s stupid. I think after the infinity saga, it should’ve been the darkhold saga, and then let that segway to the multiverse saga cause this is too much. also the stakes can’t be THAT high EVERY TIME
@matityaloran91579 ай бұрын
I think the best course of action would be to bring back stand alone superhero movies

Nah it’s fine. Multiverse Saga is a good idea

after endgame i was like "damn i hope they introduce some new heroes" but man this is too much. i was thinking like moon knight, daredevil and fantastic 4. not 2 captain marvels, she hulk, a new hawkeye aswell

That's the reason I was originally excited for Secret Invasion because of the lack of superhero nonsense. Oh well, another one bites the dust

the problem i think is that there is too long between avengers crossover movies and therefore the heroes that have been introduced have no purpose to the story for like 4 years while when spiderman, antman and black panther was introduced they got their own movies and has things going on in the mcu with them every year.

Yeah nah mate, you hit the nail on the head aye. I feel like they're is both way too many heroes and at the same time barely any. Like, it really doesn't feel like any of these new characters are going to meet up avengers style for any of the movies to come. Like the avengers roster is so big yet Ironmans dead, Black Widow's dead, Captain America is dead, hulks fuckinabeet on an island somewhere and Hawkeye is just a full time family man after his show.

Each of them had at least one movie that shows how they become heroes. Without having anyone else show up. And if someone shows up, it was in the post credic scenes.

This is an under discussed part of the issue with the MCU. Everything and everyone is just there to make the plot go and set up something else. It's too rushed, fake, and uninspired. I just cannot get into the new characters or plots. My buddies and I watched every single one up to endgame and although some have stuck with it, me and several others have only seen two or three of the new movies. I personally only watched Wanda vision, spiderman, and ant man. That's it, all the others just haven't been motivating enough to spend the money and time on. My brother hates when I talk shit about this new era but it's just impossible to actually care about anymore, politics and external factors aside they just aren't delivering.

That is what worked so well with Phase 1-3, they took time to set up the heroes. Give them their own movies to tell their origin story, show them fail and succeed. They showed us how they become the heroes that we see in the big crossover. And even during that time they went back to their own stories.
@alexism965610 ай бұрын
@@HappyBeezerStudios Is that not what they're doing now? There's been new characters with their own origin story. The Marvels is the first movie that crosses over with one of those new characters.
@NintenSegaPlay9 ай бұрын
@@HappyBeezerStudiosThat's litteraly what they've been doing, the problem is that after we just got introduced to these characters instead of having a crossover they just introduced even more characters to us
@HappyBeezerStudios9 ай бұрын
they don't give the new characters the time to develop. not even on the movies that introduce them.

When you use up all the A & B list heroes and then start using C & D list heroes (some of which the general public have never heard of) Also with the massive overuse of superhero movies also, there is a burnout that occurs and people lose interest.
@NintenSegaPlay9 ай бұрын
To be fair the general public had never heard of Thor or Doctor Strange before the MCU
@barryk17019 ай бұрын
Actually most of the people who go to see either Marvel or DC movies haven't read a comic book either, they go because other people recommend the movies to them it's "a group thing" But even these people have heard of most of the A or B list heroes, the C and D list heroes are known only to the hard core fans.@@NintenSegaPlay

If there are too many heroes, some of them will eventually become villains later on.

:) you have work to get powers, or it is just dumb.. must be the new rule
@HappyBeezerStudios10 ай бұрын
That has always been the rule, just the writers ignore it now. Either work to get your powers, or work to harness them. Not all of them worked to become super, but all of them worked to become heroes.

"The MCU has too many heroes" So it's accurate to the comics then? 😂
@mikeval15259 ай бұрын
Less of a problem there because comics had decades to create these heros and most stores while in the same universe, were still self contained generally.
@NintenSegaPlay9 ай бұрын
@@mikeval1525Also the comics can afford to release new stories on each of these characters monthly if not weekly. We just saw how trying to have non stop MCU content did, it's just humanly impossible to have constant quality

“The comics have too many characters”
@HappyBeezerStudios10 ай бұрын
Yeah, but you don't have to read all the comics to understand one of them. We basically had a big crossover event with proper buildup, and right afterwards they start launching the next one. The events in the comics happen further apart an you're not expected to read every single series.
