It is easier to get into than you think. Most start with fishing, then dip their toes in with some bird or small game. Before you know it, you are putting in for tags in multiple states for hunts that will hopefully happen in your lifetime.

I had to laugh out loud listening to this while feeding my cowdogs, I’ve listened to this podcast for years enjoying y’all’s episodes and shows when I was at Sul Ross, and to hear my home place of Bee County mentioned on it dang near made me fall down in laughter. And I can promise all in that book is true, I’ve heard the same stories from old verbal history in the ranching community in bee, live oak, and goliad counties since I was big enough to listen. (Note: I make this comment upon the hanging of the bastard in bee county, I grew up at a small community 11 miles south called Skidmore that was once a large rail shipment yard for cattle)

I’ve read it cover to cover but I feel that it’s a very important conversation to be had! Again thanks for any insight into the subject!

Anyone know the end song and how to find it? I love it!
@bryant.62675 ай бұрын
Everytime this dog topic comes up it reminds me of a Blue Heeler a farmer had that did bite me. Only because I was running around the house, I was probably 9 at the time, and I surprised it. The farmer immediately without hesitation took the dog to the back 40 and shot it. Even though the dog had never bitten anyone else before, the thought of having a dog that would be a future biter wasnt tolerated at all.

Kristi Noem should be disqualified for Vice-Presidential candidacy, not because she killed a dog, but because she doesn't know Americans well enough to know that writing about killing a dog in a memoir is not going to win favorability with the American public. She clearly has no grasp on the sentiments of the average American, and is should therefore be removed from consideration.

Speaking of getting mauled by a dog my cousins had a dog. It was a full blooded Siberian husky. It had bit my cousin amber (it was her dog) . It bit the neighbor girl, and her little brother, it bit my aunts mom, it mauled 2 mailmen, and it mauled me. I was 8 years old and we were sitting at the island coloring me and my cousin her brother toby.i remember i droped the orange marker and i reached down to pick it up and chubbs was standing there he grabbed me by the face 5 different times and shook me vigorously. I went to the ER in an ambulance the surgeon said that dog missed the tear duck in my right eye by 1/16 of an inch once asked what that meant he said you would have been blind in that eye. My parents were divorced but my dad and my moms brother were still friends. My dad said if my uncle didn't destroy that dog that my dad would come down to town and destroy it. My uncle said no problem it had bit way to many people he took it for a walk in the woods and shot it in the back of the head with an 870 magnum. You would believe this is all over but my cousin's loved that dog and blamed me for its Demise. My mom rescued german shepherds for a living we had 11 females at once they were all great. My cousin toby stayed the night at my house and started bitching about his dog being killed i punched him in the arm twice and yelled ouch and 6 of the 11 females had him pinned up on top of the couch with his back to the wall but not a single one bit him i called them off

It's a good exercise in understanding what people are capable of when it comes to asking for opinions... at least these folks were asked. And yet, mocked by those doing the asking. That was the hard part, and now questioning that approach is somehow out of bounds to some. Weird and wacky world, ain't it?

Ol' Randall and Cal just can't get on board to support a Conservative, or an explanation supporting said Conservative, even adding an "impersonation" or terms like "weird"... such open mindedness and deep thought. Meanwhile they can't help but mention the "old Montana" town prior to commercialization/modernization in recent years or decades of those places they once loved more. When one's politics don't fit their life or even actual personal preference and day-to-day. Let's just say she "aborted" the dog... really late term.

I (in my own opinion) think that they, as well as many others, just don't Fit into a certain box. I think we, as a country (and a people) should start to realize that one can agree with and disagree with a "party", and that it won't Define us.
@ggray195 ай бұрын
@@Marco-th5mp Oh, I have no personality, I just sit around and reply with weighty thoughts on original comments here. You surely know the feeling?
@ggray195 ай бұрын
@@rustyshackleford8149 Certainly... I'm not asking them to fit into a box, but if agreeing and disagreeing is what you're going for, you can surely understand someone sharing the latter??? Especially regarding a discussion that involved the players disagreeing, even parodying alternative (and solicited) views? If that's the busting of boxes you're looking for, I hope you can find my original comment as more of the same??? If not, then predictably keep standing in your box along with the boys mentioned above. And keep thinking that I'm standing in mine.
@rustyshackleford81495 ай бұрын
@@ggray19 no, your comment is really good, and I can see the direction you were going in it. Made me think as well. I found a bit of hypocrisy myself in some of the language and mockery. I try relatively hard to not "fit" into those boxes, however at times it seems I am fitting perfectly in one or another. The point about "old Montana" and "the way things used to be" seem to conflict with a lot of those opinions,
