You need to visit a small catering place in Wendouree (Ballarat) called Harold 29 for the BEST peat pies. OMG they have huge chunks of meat in them.

Head on down to the Vietnamese Bakery in Donnybrook (north end of town as there are 2 in town). Best pies in Australia in my opinion and I am well travelled. Full of chunky meat and tons of flavour.

What's with the cutlery ? I think you should always taste the pies without sauce to start,getting the taste.THEN add sauce if you feel it needs it. Sausage rolls are a different beast........smother in sauce & get stuck in !
@LocalEaters5 ай бұрын
I tend to use cutlery if it's there haha. Yeah that last pie was so good it didn't need it. I've got to do a sausage roll episode.

@LocalEaters The expression is actually "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" (Joseph being Mary's husband), but you may as well throw Moses in there mate, because the size of that pie at the second joint was just mammoth. I might need to have a go at that 'little' beauty myself, cobber!

I'm always distracted by how good the pie is and I forget about the sauce. But you're right, the first lot of pies I was thinking about the sauce because after the first bite I knew the taste was missing something.
