She's not crazy, she's a regular person who happens to be a mother. There are plenty of films about the character of ordinary men in their 60's. This is a film about an ordinary woman in her 60's who has a daughter. It's a window into their world while life tosses them around a bit. The writing is GREAT. God forbid a film comes out with an older woman lead. Just enjoy it!

Huh- her mom is clearly overprotective and its not normal- If it is normal for you I am sorry you probably had a mom like this I also used to justify to myself by saying all this, but trust me if it hurts you, it is toxic especially if you tell them how you feel and they still continue acting that way and neglecting your feelings but being there for you “physically” My mom is like that (kinda worse than the one in movie) but the point is she’s still toxic maybe urs is/was too thats why you think it’s normal:/

A new mile marker for me: I am officially rejecting films with communists in them. Wow, perfect vehicle for SS, just a big and obnoxious a meddler as in real life. I can never watch SS in a movie again - too many associations with her obstruction and dismantling of Democratic party. Id write some names of other movie stars who made their political zealotry a huge part of their persona but they are so far removed from Hollywood now you probably wouldnt recognize the name.
