I know the north east isn’t that relevant in seats and doesn’t hold a lot of sway in elections. But if you look outside the cities it has been trending away from Labour for a long time hence why they barely improved in a lot of seats in such a favourable environment like 2024. Starmer has gifted the tories and the right as a whole a chance to break through like Boris did due to his sheer contempt and stupidity and I never thought I’d see it so soon. But speaking from experience I’ve seen people long affiliated to Labour change their views on them and become very conservative in their views. This is a lot of places in the north east outside the Newcastle metropolitan bubble and it would not surprise me to see in time the Tories at some point get a clear majority in the north east. And I’m not joking it’s changed wildly from 10 years ago and it’s refreshing to see

I have an appreciation of the Red Wall I spent my formative years surrounded by it. They are deeply conservative, they value education, charity which was expressed through Methodism, they honour the family and morality. They are the first in the queue when the country faces a crisis and needs help, such as wartime.
