"It has to be an actor that when you see their name on a movie poster you're like 'Oh, this is gonna be WAY over the top'" That is exactly what went through my mind when I saw Jason Statham on the movie poster.

"so what sets this apart from a classic like Jaws?" "Well you know how that one was a marvel of cinematography and pioneered the modern horror movie? And how it was paced perfectly?" "Yeah?" "This one isnt going to have any of that tension or artistic merit, but it _will_ have a cgi shark."

Today I stumbled upon your movie pitches for the first time. Hahaha!! Damn these are so great, I've watched like 20 so far. You should do original Alien or The Thing!

I love moments like 2:38 - I often dislike films or feel like something is off about them but cannot pinpoint it. Ryan so often puts my feelings into words. Yes, the film does feel disjointed and flip-floppy!

I actually enjoy late reveals. It's a lost art. Super 8 did it as well. Puts more onus on the film to carry itself and build up to the reveal.

This is my 20th movie pitch movie today. Why are these so damn addictive? I honestly hate how this movie didn't do the books justice though.

I saw this movie the other night and I could barely make it through it. But this pitch meeting made me appreciate it for what it was. Leaving a buffet because you thought you heard a food truck. I almost died.

Actually in the explosion at the beginning of the movie you can see the small outline of the shark in the light of the explosion

And just like that, with that last line, Jason Statham is cast for the “Over the Top” remake.

MEG was actually a decent action flick. I had low expectations, so I left happy.
