I theorize that Dr. Light's robots and data was proprietary and heavily encrypted. Like console emulators today, Cain (being an Archeologist maybe knowing python data science but not assembly or Cobol, like Wily and Light would) reversed engineered X using branded machine learning AI with horrible documentation, and that's what lead to all the glitches, errors, and stuff. Its a faulty implementation of X's morality system.

Surprisingly accurate. The only part that you seem to miss or get wrong was that zero was himself was infected by the virus, which seemed to reverse the direction of his programming. Storm Eagle also only joined Sigma when he was defeated by the bald menace.

Another factor as to why Mavericks came to be was that Reploids, like Mega Man X, were programmed to have free will and do things like humans could do. The original Mega Man and Robot Masters supposedly didn't have free will, but they were capable of feeling and acting according to their moral parameters. For some reason, Dr. Cain thought it would benefit society and his bank account by assembling and selling robots you could have arguments with. But why develop Reploids who knew how to fight to begin with, armed with really cool weapons, and might kill humans over a difference of a opinion?

i think mega man 8 was where the begings of zero began because of the "evil enegery" that duo was fighing. if you pay atention to the zero (sigma) virus it is purple as the evil enegery was. (i know it seems unlikely but hey it is a theroy). another thing is that the evil engery in mega man 8 made some of the robots much stronger.

No. If you play as Zero, there is a cut scene right before the battle with Sigma where he reminds Zero that he was once a maverick. Essentially, that cut scene is a flash back. That's all.

If you're as strong as zero by the end of MMX then why can't you defeat vile when he's in the suit when zero could destroy one of its arm in a single charge shot.

it was an upgraded suit (actually has a different design from the one in the beginning) which is likely why zero wasn't able to defeat vile in the second fight and instead got captured. (this is just my way of justifying it though, i don't actually have any sources on that :s)

No, he primed the diagnostics and set them to run for that long before putting X in because he knew he wouldn't live that long. By the time X was revived, Dr. Light was LOOOOOONNNNGGGGG gone.

Dr. Light created all the diagnostics beforehand, and estimated that it would take 30 years to run X through all of these simulations in order to train X's AI to attain human-like empathy. X wasn't discovered until 100 years after diagnostics began. Dr. Light had passed away shortly after starting diagnostics.

Actually he was already infected by the zero virus at that point in time since the megaman x4 cutscene is taking place in the past After getting infected he started to change until he viewed every human as obsolete.

Brian Rodriguez I dunno, he didn't have his iconic eye scars until after his initial conflict with X and Zero in that OVA. In X4, he got them from his fight with Zero, so it seems one conflicts with the other, not to mention Dr. Kain is kill in a nuclear strike in the OVA, while he's very much alive by at least X2.

MagnuMagnus Well if you think about it it may have been because when Maverick Hunter X was released they were planning to remaster all the x games from x to x3 and if they did well they would have remastered X4-X6 but since a lot of people didn't buy it they shit canned the new continuity and now we have to ignore every inconsistency if you don't want a brain fart.
