I'm from Chicago, and every Fourth of July back in the early 90's, we would rent a cruise boat from that marina and I would notice all the planes parked at Meigs Field when we would leave the dock. I would always think of the MSFS series when I saw the iconic tower and runway. Thanks for an honest and good review of the scenery.

even in FS9 Meigs still exists. I'm trying to update my scenery to remove it from the simulator as I like to keep my sim up to date.

Thanks for your review and tips. Very helpful. I purchased Meigs from Z Design Studios and had a flight off the old field. Nostalgic. Then I purchased Drzewiecki Design Chicago Landmarks, and installed it. Unfortunately, the latter almost completely obscured Meigs Field and its scenery from Z Design. Only the runway is visible, but usable. So I conclude the 2 sceneries do not play well together. And I can't find a way to load scenery order as in FSX, P3D or Xplane. I am not complaining about the minimal cost given the new Meigs, but perhaps a caveat might be in order when one purchases a scenery that is not from the Marketplace, and presumably would have been tested before for compatibility? Just a suggestion for a disclaimer in future small developer sceneries. Keep up the good work.

Try remaining the Meigs addon folder (within the community folder) starting with “z_” with no spaces (ie “z_guillermozulueta...”). This solves the issue of compatibility for many users. I do right now have both addons working with no problem

@@GuillermoZS I am not sure what you mean by this. Can you spell out exactly what the full name of the new folder should be? I have the folder installed in an alternate directory to what you posted. Thanks.

@@mhamilto54 I mean simply renaming the folder of the Meigs addon (it should be in the Community folder, with the other addons, or do you use an alternate folder?) to “z_guillermozulueta-meigsprofessional”. The important thing is that the name starts with a “z” since the game is supposed to give priority to addons in alphabetical order. This has worked for many users, but sadly not for others (this game sometimes is quite erratic). I’ll be releasing a new version of Meigs next week (the one I’m testing now) that works with DD Landscape

@@GuillermoZS Thank you. Yes, that is the exact spelling and name in my Community folder, under MSFS. It appears on my system the DD addon leaves the runway and tower but wipes out some of the other scenery in your addon, so something is conflicting. The area right at the north end of the runway has a grove of trees very close to the threshold of the runway too, if that helps. I will look forward to your new version. Will you be sending a notice for purchasers that a new version is available, or just how should we go about looking for and installing it? Thanks again for a great product at a very fair price. Keep up the great work.

Hi Mark Great video I have the pro version and brings back my Sub-Logic days lol....just could I ask you and any other users for help, has anyone Meigs to Air Hauler 2 I cannot seem to add it to use as a Base, I’ve added to community folder and all works in MSFS just doesn’t add to AH2 anybody else managed to add, any advice would be appreciated cheers again keep up the great content

It was such a shame to see this airport destroyed in what was a classic piece of American Aviation history. This scenery is a testament to the skills of the developer who no doubt undertook this task with the backing of many sim and 'real' pilots. Micrsoft's default airport has been restored!

Fs2000 was my first true experience and I definitely remember booting up the first time to a c172 on the runway at meigs field taking off and seeing Sears tower. Legendary airport with an even more legendary Demise.

HELP!? I have bought Merrill C. Megis Field Airport from Z Design Studios direct. The readme file gives the address in MSFS where to load the file. the address is as follows. C:\Users\[YOUR_USER_NAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\". But when I try to find that folder on my computer (Windows 10) I get the message "File could not be found"!! I can get as far as \LocalCache\ and that's it. I cant find Packages and Community folders anywhere. Any Help would be most appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

Hi David, the path you need will depend on how you installed MSFS. To confirm the location turn on developer mode etc.... as shown in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqW3XmWPjqufmbM once you find your community folder place your files there. Hope this gets you sorted. Regards

I have made numerous changes to improve the audio. I thought it had improved. I’m not getting many complaints, but maybe a new mic is needed
