This video couldn't have come at a better time for me. During my last trip on the mountain I was putting way too much pressure on myself and ended up in tears after some silly falls. Thanks Kevin for the reminder to chill out and have fun. That's what it's all about. :)

I've been working on learning and progressing in the terrain park and at the age of 41 it is sometimes frustrating but I always stop and remember to just have fun. Snowboarding is such a great activity and outlet.

couldn't agree more, putting pressure on yourself doesn't allow for a fun day which is what snowboarding is all about. first, have fun, second, everything else 😀

The mental side is such a factor for confidence learning new skills or taking on new challenges. Having a supportive group is a big help. Don't be peer pressured into to doing anything you are not ready for or not feeling right about.

Great video Kevin! This video relates a lot to my experience this season. I've pushed myself harder than I ever have in previous seasons. Something that really stood out to me is when you said "Sometimes you need to take a step back away from tricks and not put pressure on yourself"... I've learned this this year as I entered into freestyle riding rather than the basic downhill boarding I've done for the past 8 years. I did well in park, I must say but I found myself getting too comfortable with tricks too quickly. By this I mean as I approached a feature I did several times perfectly in the past, I would forget to think about what I was doing because I told myself "I got this". While it's good to encourage yourself and not overthink, I've discovered it's still important to be intentional with riding even if you think you have it figured out. I took a bad fall a few weeks ago and since then, if I find myself doing really well for a long period of time, I tell myself to just take a downhill lap a time or two to 1) take a break 2) get back in touch with my body and overall performance. Love your content! Keep up the amazing work.

Good call out in this video Kevin. Snowboarding is just as mental as it is physical, it’s good to scare and challenge yourself but not worth having a bad time out there and getting frustrated. It’s all good vibes and fun times, that’s what’s important. 🤙🏼👍🏼

Great video, love the vegging out that's what i do when i put pressure on myself. That's what i did before i sent it on the big jump towards midway point in Whistler park last week. Great riding with Kevin and Chris, huge confidence booster. Hopefully i get to board with tim next time.

Dude, just flew back yesterday from a trip there last week. I spent a whole day in the Small/Medium park wiring those jumps and hips. It's really cool to watch you and friends going over terrain that I recognize now. It can definitely get mental, esp. if you're prone to getting into your head like I am.

Instead of a trick, how does one get over the mental block of just carving? More specifically, toe edge. Last season was my first season snowboarding and on March 2, I caught my heel edge and broke my wrist. Now I’m finding that I can’t even get onto my toe edge at all 😮 I’m starting out as an older person learning to snowboard 🏂 AND I am active in wakeboarding and other sports. HOW can I get past this mental block?
