Does the Meross Smart WiFi Air Purifier make the cut? It's good, but there are a few things that might make you look at another solution on the market today. I have used a Xaiomi air purifier for some time. Unfortunately they also don't integrate well with voice assistants. I use Home Assistant to do the automated control and that works pretty well. I think as long as you remember they are designed for a maximum room size, and even a minimum room size, then they are actually pretty decent and do improve the air quality inside the home, which is needed for virtually all indoor situations as indoor air quality tends to be a lot worse than outside due to all the things we have inside sending nasty vapours into the air (and I don't mean the dog! ) :)

@@AutomateYourLife At the moment I am using the AQ monitoring within the air purifier itself as this is exposed as a sensor in Home Assistant, but I am thinking of getting an external monitor just fo a little more accuracy. That said, the monitor in the purifier itself is not horribly bad and it does update pretty quickly

Hey Tim, thanks! Sadly, I don't know of one specific to ST at the moment. Heck, not even sure I've seen a good smart dehumidifier. Maybe IR control of a good one would make more sense?

I watched a Google (developers) Smart Home video on KZbin a little while ago, where they said they are going to open up sensor driven automations. I presume this will go live with Matter. Hopefully this will fix the issue Brian mentioned

Another great video! Just wondering. Is there any new update on smartthings? I'm looking for a new hub like smartthings but I want the freedom of local control like hubitat. I just don't like the ui of hibitat and I have many smartthings ready tvs I can use. Just curious on the new edge smartthings. Does alexa still work and control smartthings devices if samsung pulled the plug on the smartthings cloud?

I have SmartThings and use Alexa all the time to control my lights and thermostat, check the temperature of sensors, and make announcements (like when my laundry is done).

Thanks Jason :) There are mannnnnyyy new Edge drivers that have popped up. And with Matter coming, we should have pretty much full local control in SmartThings by the end of the year. Or at least, you can choose to buy "local". Alexa wouldn't work if ST pulled the plug on the cloud, but I don't see them doing that. At least there's nothing I've heard yet!

A few weeks ago I purchased a Meross Double Side Wall Plug. After installing it, I saw that it was unsecured (a BIG concern for me), so I disconnected it and returned it to Amazon, figuring their other products might the same. I’m not leaving anything to chance in my home automation buildout.
