🚨 Sorry for the repost, mortals! I had to re-upload this episode as KZbin couldn't handle me saying "the s-word" 18 minutes into the video and age-restricted it... 🤯 But never fear! That DISGUSTING, FILTHY word has now been CENSORED to protect your sweet, innocent ears so now you can enjoy this episode as our overlords intended! -- BTW, I'm still hard at work on the script for the next mythology deep-dive on a certain Greek Goddess... so keep an eye out for that next Thursday! 👀❄

Here’s a fun fact , in the anime Loki ragnarok, freya is punished by Odin for refusing to assassinate Loki by erasing her memory and turning her into a child named Reya , when she turns to her real form she is madly in love with Loki and she is a source of comic relief during the series

@@SuperSky9 and to answer your question, the anime is in fact heavily influenced by the mythology, it contains both direct and indirect mentions of the lore & legends of Asgard, mainly ones related to Loki & his children and his conflict with Himedal & Odin, the characters are aware of the entire mythology and their fate in it such as himedal & loki avoiding any direct fights between them or they would both perish, and the Midgard serpent being always uneasy around Thor knowing that they are fated to end each other, in this channel Jon mentions other media that depicted mythology and lore such as the God of war video game & the Disney movies, that’s why I mentioned the anime as another form of media in which the legend was depicted, if you found it interesting that’s great, if you weren’t interested fine , but what’s not fine is you being rude in your replies

As a scandinavian myself I've always been taugh that Freja and Frigg are two diffrent gods, but with the knowledge that many of the gods have several names, or disguise themselvs as someone else in some sagas and that it's very unknown what is and what is not true in the mythology. I will keep the thought of Freja and Frigg as two gods but it's an interesting perspective. I don't like the God of War though, same goes for AC Valhalla, it's to inspired by tv series.

A swedish mother taught me so much, but her favorite and mine now is Freya. Im glad you talked frigg, and meaning love. ❤ well done. I love studying all this about the gods, viking folk tales, andbalot of religions are so fun to study and how many religions and Christians took from Egyptian gods, Nordic mythology and gods, and mucb more. Alot of them twist it all to fit there narrative. Even the bible, and its "words from god", has been twisted by man, and interpreted true sometimes and false sometimes. And so many evil men have used Christianity or religon to lie, manipulate, and steal believers and there followers for monetary gain, power, lust, control etc. So many written works of all the religions gods , like the bible, all hsve do many diffrent meanings, words, and just been interpreted by men with good intentions and just get it wrong, but mostly history has shown more times than not humans with seriously bad and demonstrative intentions use religion etc to get what they want

I know you dunked on Christian stories for being less cool which I get but there are some cool stories which might be interesting for you to research, particularly the ones I’m 90% sure were stolen from other religions lol. Your research is always really thorough so I’d love to see you get to the bottom of like the Leviathan or something. Plus the Bible has a bunch of wild stories that were cut out of the mainstream Bible that might be interesting, the book has like soooo much historical fanfic lmao

There is a story that Loki steals Freya's precious necklace And Thor and Vidar had to punish Loki and his silly pranks Sad that this story didn't make it into the game or even a dialogue about that stolen necklace quote It makes about the comparison of Loki from Norse mythology and the game mainly of the various stories of Loki but there is one that Loki is the hero who was the kidnapping of the Goddess Iduna and her apples And it also makes Iduna and Thor since there are many other stories that weren't for example: the cursed ring,the story of Thor's fishing,The day Thor became a bride that was the same day the hammer was stolen and also the trap and the challenge of the giants etc.. 🤔😃👍like and Bye!

Thank you for another interesting piece of amazing Mythology, I also find it sad that so much has been lost due to hate and greed, if your religion (Christianity) is so great then maybe it can stand on its own without you destroying all the "competition"! (Directed at those who did the damage not today) As for praying to not be single, I've been married once for fifteen years, and because it fits today's message I will tell you she cheated on me with a Christion Minister who was also married with two young children. Can anyone tell me even one good "Fact" about religion that is good and makes up for all the murder done in the name of God? P.S. If you are a good person because you are afraid of a God, you are not a good person!

I can see where you’re coming from . Why rewrite someone else’s story . But during this time I believe that the book of Enoch was a universally accepted gospel . And if you don’t know , it basically lays out why we even worship other gods in the first place. I speaks of ‘the watchers’ which are the angels who walked the earth . Many of these ‘watchers’ are almost the exact same as other gods in there respective fields. The book of enoch even explains how these ‘watchers’ introduced medicine , music , agriculture and many other things which corrupted humanity and led to the flood . The book even states that although the ‘watchers’ were sealed away until the second coming , their impact would live on and they would again be praised and revered by humanity as false gods. Which is how we get all these stories .
@saharakertley
@saharakertley Жыл бұрын
In fact the watcher azazel was blamed the most by god because he introduced weapons and warfare . Basically the god of war . The other ‘watchers’ had indecent relations with human women and produce the nephilim . The giants or if you’re talking mythology the titans .
@saharakertley
@saharakertley Жыл бұрын
I mean if you really think about it .. the book of Enoch answers a lot of mythological questions. Just think about how human and sinful their personalities were . Deceit, fornication , murder and curses based off of their emotions . Almost like angels trying to PLAY god, acting as gods themselves . The book even states that each watcher built a civilization that they presided over and that their statues and buildings would remain after the flood .. possibly like Greece and Rome ..

My bloodline runs from that region and in the last few years I really started digging into the history and lore I was never taught. When I discovered just how fantastic the artwork and craftsmanship (should see some of the wrought gold and silver items they used to make) was before a certain cult showed up and started declaring the wise women witches (surely the fact these women passed on the histories and lore had nothing to do with their sudden eradication...) then destroyed all the art while declaring only the art of their own selection could be made... it infuriated me. It was like the advancement of my ancestors got rolled back and even today they are two millennia behind where they should have been. Not just art and craft from that region... I believe the entire world would be different if not for that interference. But, alas, we can never truly know.

@Phantom86d
@Phantom86d Жыл бұрын
Because magical talking heads are a thing in Germanic and Celtic folklore. The spirit is supposed to reside in the mind/head, so if one was famous or powerful enough, preserving the head would hold that power for the region like a talisman. If you reanimate more than the head, you are entering necromancy territory and stealing the energy from the land. For most magic to make a new body, in folklore, one needs either a freshly vacated body or form. It is also notoriously faulty and the success rate is really low. The other problem is this is a form of reincarnation so Mimir's memory would be compromised (and as he was the personification of memory, this can lead to a problem.) Which is why Odin originally did not go that route in the Sagas because he was afraid of losing memory (Both Mimir and Munnin). Although a fertility goddess can regrow her body, once a memory is gone it cannot return intact. The nature of the things and all that.

I honestly admire the fact that you invest so much time researching the origins of Mythology, Legend and Fairy Tales. Truly fascinating stuff. Perhaps you would be so kind as to research the origins of the most obscene hand gesture ever created: The commonly named "Agincourt Salute". Maybe then you will stop using it throughout these episodes. Yup, you are being deeply offensive in your episodes. I can not tell if you are doing this on purpose, or if you are simply unaware. As a gesture of respect to the great North American Nation called the USA, I am flipping you the bird while I watch your show.

I liked the anime Freya from Valkyrie Profile. She was anime, so I was okay with her being “Mysterious”. Real life specific Freya, this is the most I’ve ever learned, also she is a tap dancing rat from FFIX.

I think Freya is Hera and Frigg is Aphrodite and Hella is Athena and that a lot of these stories have references to the Trojan war

Might even be that Adam is Odin and Freya is Lilith and Frigg is Eve and the winner of the apple of discord... Aphrodite

The reason why I don't count the new God of war as a god of war game is for the fact there are no minigames there his weird feeling with the axe you know what I mean when you compare it to the blades in the first six games then for some reason in the newest one they decided how about we don't have it attached to the person let's have them press a button for it to come back yeah more stuff for me to press thank you that means my controller is going to break that much faster because now you got a masher nothing button just to do whatever you're doing there's less death traps because the first one dear God there was just so many climbing those pillars at the very end of the game with the blades very dangerous few hits new fall all the way down to the bottom dead or in the second game where you just had just a great time then you had the PSP games where they just had unbelievable amount of orbs but you had nothing really to spend it on then you had God of war 3 which I just was weird issues with weird puzzles showing it's time to take out the rest of the family then you got this weird part Ascension which the only way that game can actually exist is because of number to where you go back in time and mess everything up remember you go back in time and you save the Giants to go back to number three and then kill everybody I mean show them what Paradise looks like no wait you destroyed that and I believe one of the PSP games woohoo so much destruction now the new games it's just collect the item not woohoo I think I had more trouble playing the older games than this collection God of war PS4 and God of war PS5 part 2 that collection is not fun it is boring because of literally everything I've described the mini-games aren't there all the stuff that showed how fun the old ones were it's just not here that collection is not fun it is boring because of literally everything I've described the mini-games aren't there's all the stuff that showed how fun the old ones were it's just not here it's like we went back to the 360 era and got stuck with the goddamn collecting crap next that I can be telling me to collect feathers

Video time 18:44 "no offense to modern christians", I can respect that, and thank you, but also try and remember things were very VERY different back then, people were ignorant on so many levels, as us /them are today as I look around at the webs people find themselves caught in an around themselves (a web made by themselves or others) and how we really do have an impact on some things that go on in our lives and society, be aware and awake, not just woke cuz that's becoming a sleepwalking thing in and of itself as any religious/repetitive thing does, God/Jesus/Holy Spirit *trinity mystery* wants relationship not religious rituals and repetitive prayers, and to remember WHY you are here and doing what you're doing
