I saw this movie in theaters when i was 12 years old as well. Robert Townsend is criminally underrated. Roy Fegan should have had a bigger career. He also appeared on 227, Martin & Hangin With Mr. Cooper. Roy’s son Roshon Fegan is an actor as well. Bobby McGee also appeared on 227, The Five Heartbeats, Tales From The Hood & The Upshaws. This movie resurfaced after the release of Black Panther due to it being a black superhero film. Can we please get reviews on the following movies: Hollywood Shuffle The Five Heartbeats B.A.P.S. Meteor Man is an all time great Black movie to me. It hits close for me because I was a kid when they were filming it and I remember the news covering it because it was filmed here. Jefferson's hood was in West Baltimore & The Golden Lords hq was in my hood Ova East (it was an abandoned Brewery - American Brewery. When me & a few of my friends were little we thought it was an old castle bc of how it looked & it sat up on a hill. The building is still standing, but the main building has been gentrified).

This movie is a classic no matter how corny it is. Before Black Panther, Blade, and Spawn, there was Meteor Man. Oh, best believe Fresh would've finessed dude out if that meteor. He would've pretended to be an risk youth looking for a mentor. Soon as Robert Townsend let his guard down, he snatching that meteor up, taking over the Golden Lords, and becomes the new kingpin in town.

Don't know what LVP means, but MVP, the crips and bloods coming together for a movie, to be in a movie, helping out meteor man. Plus I just love the music and how they all pop out from a circle, cypress pointing them out. I think this movie being a flop had a lot to do with it's competition. Menace II Society Poetic Justice Those were just the main two black films. It competed against Jurassic Park, The Firm, The Fugitive, and Sleepless in Seattle as well. It just came out in a bad year!
