Very nice video. I like the design of the stations.

I love the DC metro, so clean and even though it's old, it has a futuristic aura to it, the sound those trains make are really cool too, like something out of Star Wars.
@crazypilot75778 жыл бұрын
I do like the looks, but I hate the non 1000 series propulsion systems. The 1000 series (oldest and first series) have such beautiful sounds that the motors emit on departure. But I agree with the futuristic look if the metro, and how it shows that 40+ year old cars can still be used safely.
@dreamyyx_37624 жыл бұрын
@Owly123 Surprising, the 1000 series were more reliable than the 4ks & 5ks(Thats sad cuz they went in service in 2001)

tubintheweb1 Its getting dirtier and there are assholes who eat and drink on the trains, in clear violation of the rules. They are just approved funding for carpeting on all the trains that will just get mildew, dirty and worn out. I would have ripped out all the carpeting and replaced it all with rubber flooring.

***** Yea LA is a little bit disappointing. It's too big a city to have Washington DC do a better job at public transit than it does. We expect cities like New York and Chicago to outdo a city like DC. But when DC's public transit starts to run circles around a city like LA's, then Houston we have a problem.
@nicktune12198 жыл бұрын
ha. so jealous. here in DC, everything is nice, especially in downtown. we get the white marble buildings and nice friendly people. on the outside, they may seem a little rude, but they are really nice people.

My family and I took the metro from MD to here and i honestly enjoyed riding it..I prefer the metro over the public bus... When we got on it wasn't packed but overtime it did but it was clean and the people were actually civilized for once to my surprising. That was back in 10' tho, i damn sure know it's not like that anymore. The underground is completely dark, if someone wanted to shank someone pretty sure they could get away with it lol, but i liked the darkness.

I really like the Alstom motor propulsion some of the trains in your clip has, it's quite interesting. That Alstom motor propulsion sounds very similar to the R142s and R160As along with the R160Bs we have in New York
@crazypilot75778 жыл бұрын
The Alstom ONIX? I honestly dislike the ONIX system. While the Siemens on the R160 (forgot which letter) is honestly my favorite sounding MTA subway train to date.

Metrorail construction and single tracking on weekends will scare them away. The DC Metro is becoming like the New York Subways of the late 70s, early 80s, dirty trains, crime, breakdowns, poor service. I even seen pictures of spray painted graffiti on trains. Richard Sarles the GM/CEO should have been kicked to the curb years ago.
@jnyerere10 жыл бұрын
I am from the DC area and my cousin is from Toronto. The day I rode the Toronto transit system (buses and trains), I was so impressed. So so so much better than the DC Metro. But of course in when you compare our metro to the rest of the country, it ranks high (aside from NYC). But Toronto is so much better and cleaner. Also more aesthetically pleasing.
@jnyerere9 жыл бұрын
***** You're from Toronto?

***** So what is it again that makes you an expert on Toronto's subway system? I know the DC Metro is superior to all others in the United States, but certainly not superior to that of Toronto. I was there. I saw it with thine own eyes. I rode it. It was far superior to anything we have in DC.
@timosha219 жыл бұрын
CzarJuliusIII I disagree with that - the Toronto one is very limited in the area it covers and its passes are very confusing. I think a better contender to DC would be Montreal. Yes I have been on these three systems :)

Trains are getting dirtier because I see violations of the "no eating or drinking rule" every time I ride. I hope the next General Manger adopts a "zero tolerance" rule towards this, perhaps also adding a '"no soliciting" rule.

The DC METRO is probably the dirties train in this country, the carpets needs to be removed they are full of old chewing gum, the walls are grimy and I dont know when they clean them I never saw a cleaning person. This is the train in our Capital City, Please Please. see other train systems in the world, Go to Japan send your staff to get trained by the Japanese, this is a shame a SHAME!
