@@GamerThumbTV While the general events of the K2L raid are indeed canon, I would like to point out that the Metroid manga is most likely non canon by this point, as there are a number of contradictions in between it and canon Metroid games, such as the making of the Metroids. Another minor thing, the Chozo did not name the planet SR388. Ili Agar Nalima was the name given to the planet by the Chozo. It was only later the Federation called the planet SR388.

Metroid is quite honestly one of the most ambitious IPs that Nintendo has ever produced. Its gameplay style has influenced games like Castlevania, Orie and The Blind Forest, Strider Hiryu, and so much more. Its great to know that its got the background lore to complement its gameplay and engagement. Great start to a new lore series. This is gonna be a fun ride.

@@boryontotheleader2328 it did. But Castlevania didn't incorporate Metroid's style of gameplay until 1997 with Castlevania Symphony of The Night. Until then it was a basic side scrolling adventure of reach the end and fight a boss to proceed to the next level with a few exceptions (Belmont's Revenge, Simon's Quest). It wasn't until Symphony of The Night came out that the term Metroidvania got coined.

Samus Aran is by far the most complex, yet fearless character in the Nintendo universe. Her story is worthy of being an movie or an anime. Some say she is just dull and one dimensional, but one of my friends was right about one thing, Samus Aran is a third dimensional character with a lot of depth and personality that makes her a proud hero. Fun Facts: in Other M, her characterization was changed to her being a Weak Momontous Bounty Hunter while Adam was made as one of the most hated video game characters ever made as he suffers from Bastardization/Flanderization while back then there was meant to be a official live-action origin flim for Samus but due to what happen with the Live-Action Mario Movie, nintendo cancel that idea along with the Legend Of Zelda origin flim

I love this so much, I first found out about Metroid when I was really young. Our childrens ward of the hospital that I was a frequent visitor of had game systems on these tv carts they would wheel around the kids rooms, and they had a super nintendo with Super Metroid and it was love at first sight, since then ive tried to play all that the franchise has to offer. Learning more about the series will be fantastic. Ive watched your resident evil lore quite a few times and actually really educated me on alot of the story since I havent played much of RE games. Thank you for this.

I finally went into the series even after buying all the games, I've been busy but Dread made me decide to quickly get in, I love the series so far and starting to learn everything about Metroid. I re-bought Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, and Super Meteoid for the Wii U because I'll love to play it on an 70 inch T.V for sure lol, who wouldn't? Anyways I hope Nintendo realizes that Mertoid is loved even more (seeing how some Metroid games are on the top sales for the Wii U). I'll support this series and hope it'll get more treatment like the main franchises.

Part 2: The culmination of everything this one was leading to!

These events would be perfect for a Metroid movie if they ever wanted to make one. They could also add Raven Beak and the Mawkin in there to show how they were involved throughout all this. And on a side note, this is a Samus PTSD episode that actually makes sense. It's the first time she sees Ridley after the death of her parents and she's never fought him before, and that makes it so much more satisfying when she finally fights and defeats him in Zero Mission. This is why I've been saying Other M should've taken place before Zero Mission, and in hindsight it maybe could've been about these events. That would've been so sick! But it wasn't, so movie maybe?

@@GamerThumbTV I agree PTSD can strike any moment. The image I have of samus in my head is the warrior who have face this foe too many times to not be scared of it or any threat really. Other M could been a better game if in the other games we had samus talk a little bit but because that was her first game where she acted more a character I grow to dislike it. But if I ever get a another chance to play Other M I will give it fair shot then insulting it every 5 mins. But if they ever let samus talk more again I hope they take lessons from cheif. halo 4 is my favorite halo game story wise I would love to see a game where samus has someone she care about and she talk to. Yes I know we have fusions with Adam AI but we need more people she talk to. Too bad they ended Ice man in Metroid prime 3 would love see him in another game with samus.

This was the first time everyone see Samus act like real character and show emotional the only time I can think she show some emotional is prime 1 when she Radily live. Plus we never seen samus act weak in the games or be really vulnerable. The only time I can think well the manga and prime 3 when she take off her hemet to throw up and her eyes slowing becoming more corrupted. Like said before I really hope they take halo 4 approach with her character in prime 4 and show she is human. But I can’t wait for zero mission episode man that going to be hype. One quick question for return Samus are you going to try to use AM2R story and return Samus and combine them together. I know AM2R added some Metroid fusions links. Either way if don’t use AM2R I’m still hype for the video. Gosh this sound confusing.

Small beef that I know is just used for samus' storyline...but if that planet produced massive amounts of absolutely necessary fuel for space travel, humanity would have it be the most heavily guarded place, presumably only after Gia herself. Permanent military installation planetside, patrols on the outer rim, satellite defense platforms... Anyone who's ever picked up a sci-fi book would be confused why this super valuable material isn't heavily guarded. Just saying. Anyway, on with the show!

I like to think that either it was one of many different types of fuel they used or a different kind was discovered later. In Metroid Prime 3 there's a substance you can scan called Fuel Gel that seems to serve the same purpose. So perhaps K-2L was important but not the only source of fuel for the galaxy.

@@GamerThumbTV Fusion was my introduction to the series and games featuring some horror elements with SA-X and that creepy atmosphere and story. Love these games! Metroidvania is my favorite game genre and your work here is once again excellent! I'm surprised how little lore I knew before this vid, thanks! I'd love to see a rated R anime like Castlevania about Metroid. Heck, even Bloodstained could have their own side story as a mini series or a movie, like Resident Evil has between the games. Imagine "Bloodstained: Return of Gremory" as a full blown anime movie and Zangetsu coming back to kick ass with David Hayter's voice and O.D. of course having bigger role 'cause Robert Belgrade is just coolness incarnate, just like Hayter. Sorry for the rambling, this video was just too good!

There is just so much lore for Metroid I’m stunned that there never was a live action movie yet. That live action Other M commercial proves Metroid can look good in that format. Emily Blunt or Charlize Theron are my go to choices for Samus.

That was actually a pitch for an animated series that never got picked up. It's the only piece of art that was ever made for it.
