This was terrific! I knew that the Michelin Star was created to encourage driving, but there were a lot of other pieces that were fascinating. And I love the long form videos - you may have had some cuts for multiple takes but you kept the energy and feel of your short videos.
@ZennZennster Жыл бұрын
I didn't even realize there were cuts tbh!! Great video
@alirahimi4746 Жыл бұрын
you could hide the cuts with broll. Like when you cut, you are not in the frame. There is a picture on screen instead of you jumping from cut to cut. To all the people who will say "who asked?": He did. He literally asked in the end 😁 Keep up the good work! Your fun facts are truly rare ❤
@CraftingHock Жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree. I think he should look at other KZbinrs for inspiration on editing such as half as interesting or scishow. Doug's videos have good content; however, it sometimes feels he is just extending his youtube short format, which does not work imo because it feels like info dumping. I really hope to see Doug succeed and think he can if he spends a lot of time studying how he can just reformat what he is already doing!
@wpoitras Жыл бұрын
+1 The use of pictures is well placed and enhances the learning experience. Given how everyone knows the shorts style, creating the illusion of a single cut gives the same energy while allowing you to create a better overall experience through editing.

Didn't catch this until today. I love it! This whole map history intertwined with restaurants ratings! So cool! Good job! Do a long one every couple of weeks, it's just right. 😊

Doug, you’ve nailed it with longer format. I knew about the Michelin guide’s initial purpose before, but I’ve never knew that their maps ware used in WWII by allies. You are like Wikipedia in a video format! Thank you
@brentje9759 Жыл бұрын
Adore the format, It's highly detailed, just like the Michelin maps. Knew some of the facts in this video but it's the outstanding distance you go to tell the entire story so concisely is what i enjoyed. Thank you, great video imo.

Great job!! If you’re worried about your cuts, you can time them up with when you show or hide photos, since there’s already a transition happening then anyway. Honestly though, i love your content!

I often regale friends and coworkers with the fun tidbits of knowledge I pick up along the way. Maybe you and other creators could team up to cover multiple facets of unique moments in history. Keep up the great work!!

Hey Doug, I love and appreciate the hard work you've put on all this. That being said, this way of delivery, which is your signature of course, your brand, does not work the same in long form as it does in short form videos. I think a fun fact is just that, A(!) fact. When going into long form videos it becomes something else, a story if you may, and a story needs a more divesified way of delivering it. I think that figuring out different ways to deliver your lines would benefit you more if you want to, for example branch out in the future and do different kinds of videos. This slightly high pitched, punctuated voice that's a little fast and done in what feels like a single breath, might be good to draw the attention of the viewer in a short form video but can be overwhelming in a long one. I'm a foreigner and that might play a role. Ok, I have to also say that I really like these videos and all your videos despite of all that I said, keep up the good work if that's what's good for your physical and mental health! bye ❤
