Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos kzbin.infoUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!

I've built two of these book cases and the design is awesome. My one recommendation is to use a 3/4" datto blade in a table saw to create channels to house the boards prior to the glue up. The first shelf I built with out this is starting to warp a bit probably due to climate shifts while the other has remained square. Just a quick tip for anyone that has a datto stack available. Great case either way!

Seems basic, but i would have made them and not thought about it beforehand if i hadnt watched you. So, thank you. Ill go out and poke around and see whatwill work before i desing them now. 4:54

if you're going to build a bookcase like this using cheap softwood you should probably just paint it rather than trying to stain it- the finished result is very spotty due to uneven stain absorption, not to mention that wood is just full of knots. you should also check your boards to avoid buying stuff like the cupping seen at 1:32
