@@RareEarthSeries Don't you think we are pushed to neoliberalism and the believe that the government is the enemy lately? Specially on KZbin. I despair at how people buy into it instead of discussing about how to regain control of the government again to use it rightly. Well, I believe as of now governments are hijacked by the psycho-rich class, that's why they are so terrible, but they used to be better, and just disempowering governments will mean more abusive practices by big companies. Just thought it could be material for a video, how KZbin is becoming the new manipulation program the TV had become, through manipulative channels, bots, algorithms...
@Alsatiagent
@Alsatiagent 3 жыл бұрын
@@raimonestanol8234 No hijacking is required. Media outlets that many view as liberal and leftist are in fact quietly controlled by corporate donors and sponsors. My leader in Canada did not attend a vote that would have increased the taxes of those who made over $20 million by a tiny percentage. Note the first $20 million would have remained unmolested by this increase. And this is why companies have embraced the pseudo-woke neo-liberal politics of Justin Trudeau. It hurts their bottom line not a bit.

@@Alsatiagent That's just another example of the "hijacking" I'm talking about, the rich mandate policy through their companies lobbying congress, but also tightly manufacturing public opinion through media. @@RareEarthSeries For whatever it might be worth, I share your videos with anyone and everyone I think may appreciate them, and I have felt like I really had no other choice since I found you. You are a truly wonderful storyteller that has the rare gift of being able to humanize both the fantastical and the seemingly absurd (demons that were blamed for pregnancy, how a centuries old card game helped create Nintendo, etc), that somehow promotes both a deeper understanding and empathy in equal measure while doing it. And you do it in a way that almost feels conversational. It doesn't feel like a documentary, or even a video, as much as it almost feels like I randomly bumped into a friend of a friend on the street while running errands and I simply couldn't get enough of what they were saying. I wish my reach were longer, just so I could share these videos further. I know this couldn't have been the easiest project to work with through the last year plus, but I hope you continue to tell these stories in the way only you can. I agree wholeheartedly Wallace. It really is an one can do. To do what you are capable of that you think is right. I eat vegan, I do my best to avoid things made in sweatshops, I practice pacifism except in cases of self-defense. When I learn of a word or phrase being hurtful towards a group of people I make myself stop saying it. For instance, I'm gay, and yes, it does hurt when people use the word f@ggot or say something is gay when they mean it's stupid or that they don't like it. I've had it done and I know how it feels and I don't want anyone else to feel that way. Those are just a few examples... But all anyone can do is just try their best to do what they think they can to make the world better. Even just a tiny bit. Much love to all of you ✌️

@@Neillan I'm interested in what you think its supposedly getting at. Personally, I think you might be missing the point, and can be summarised with. " How to solve the rot of our societies is to use our hands for more than just complaining, we may not be able to solve nation size issues on our own, but we are all part of a local community. People need healthcare, food, shelter and a purpose, it doesn't have to come from the government, it doesnt have to reach everybody, but everytime it happens things get that much better. Ideology always loses to reality eventually, history is pretty clear on that, there is no such thing as divine right (monarchy), no first amongst equals (communism) ever ended poverty, wealth simply doesn't trickle down (capitalism). But some people will always want a simple answer (facism), a way to feel invested, whether its real or not." Evan is pretty clear that regardless of the current defining political ideology, the common lose out, forced into things like wars and yawning inequality from an elite that increasingly doesn't give a shit about their fellow man. Bravo!! Italy is a modern phenomenon, a bridge between worlds, the place where all currents of the west and Mediterranean end up eventually. She will never know her self until she accepts that her diversity is her strength and abandons her search for cultural homogeneity. After unification the socially liberal Massimo d'Azeglio said, "L'Italia è fatta. Restano da fare gli italiani", aka "We have made Italy. Now we must make Italians."

As the saying(s) go: Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeated it, and what we learn from history is that people don't learn from history. I love that you mentioned that although "putting up the finger " is cathartic, it doesn't really fix the problems. We can't entirely rely on the governmental powers to change, we need to be the change we want to see. We need to do what we can, where we can, even if its only a little bit.
