Upstate New York. I'm in the backseat of my parents' car, riding home from visiting my aunt & cousin's house, using the dim streetlights to see the screen on my original Game Boy. We ride over the mid-Hudson bridge in the stillness of the night, from Poughkeepsie back to Highland. Mom & Dad say its past my bedtime, and I have to be in bed as soon as we get home. But until then, I enjoy the gentle ride home, watching the lights pass by through the window.

How do I say thank you for this song? I visited my best friend for the first time in 10 years in the height of the pandemic. We went for a night drive into the Texan countryside, playing the new album. I saw the Milky Way for the first time with her by my side and felt humbled by everything all at once as the warm winds rustled our hair. Then we drove back to our rental, and she didn't know, but I recorded us belting out the lyrics--"we'll just buy CHEAPER WINE," so loud and off-key. Now I watch it back and just cry at how lucky I am to have such a sterling memory I can carry with me for the rest of my life even when everything else feels so heavy and crushing. And I'm so very grateful to The Midnight for it.

This song reminds me of her. We met one day at a friend's house and almost instantly felt something. I asked her out she agreed and together we spent the most beautiful 48 hours possible. I wanted to hold her hand as we walked on the beach at night, as the orange shore lights rained down on us beneath an open starry sky. I have loved her every single moment since the day I saw her. Unfortunately, things did not turn out in favor of us. But I still miss her to this day and reminisce about that night together. I guess I have to move on.

Some really good writing in this song: “and hang on to see if whether constellations hold together or not.” Nothing lasts forever. Not our homes, our cars, our lives, or even the stars. Millions of eons will pass and constellations as we know them today will not exist. For the stars will have moved and distanced themselves from the patterns we see them in today. The singer is devoting this amount of time to his love. And for us, that’s forever.

Synthwave brings so much peace, Synthwave brings back those memories, Synthwave makes u think things which never happened, Thanks big time "The midnight" for these all tracks. Love them. I can say these are the only things which makes me calm. I have a place inside me where all those things will always stay which I can't write but can just visit listening these tracks. ❤️

Don't know why I'm typing this on this particular song but anyone can fell down and be at its lowest in life. Battling depression, one day I found Midnight. This is not music, this is something much more ! it mend my soul, it gave me hope, that everything will be alright. Listening for months, every day , I consider myself now cured and in parts this is thanks to Midnight's music. I'm grateful that you guys and girls exist !

I'm so happy this made the album. Tyler's original version was already amazing, but Tim's production work on this is phenomenal.

I love this band. They successfully took the niche which was empty. Their music so lyric, nostalgic and beautiful.

There's a possibility That we'll both go down together Or free ourselves from gravity And tumble through the dark Deep... The midnight has never failed to deliver good music and lyrics.
