Fascinating discussion I remember The Mighty Atom well as, like you, I spent time on many Friday nights & Saturdays with my parents at Zerns & even went there for produce with my wife and kids (when they were young) every Saturday morning until we moved away in 2002. He was definitely a local legend & the subject of much discussion between myself and a couple of my college roomies who were from the Boyertown area. My takeaway from your discussion is that a thought process similar to that which can lead to a cultish pre-occupation (I Am) can also lead to a more positive result and a more pure way of life (yeah, I know that I'm over-simplifying). Obviously there was a lot more to The Mighty Atom than we realized at the time. Great slant on "Cults in Occulture !

If I remember correctly The Mighty Atoms son was on Americas Got Talent when he was in his nineties. He pulled trucks and cars full of people with his teeth.

Yes, he did, and tied to his hair. He was injured doing the hair stunt once holding back a car as it was being revved to go. The skin on his face stretched horribly.

I love these old time carnie strongmen / catch wrestlers. Found you through Atrocity guides video and wanted to see the falun gong video. Idk how much you know abt the history of catch as catch can wrestling but it is very fascinating. Was invented in england in mid 1800s along with other forms of wrestling. The carnie strongmen would put on their feats of strength on display and ppl wanted to challenge them to a fight. The general audiences didnt know the rules of wrestling so catch introduced submissions to the game bc if you hear someone wailing out in pain or choked unconscious, you would know the other guy won instead of them just seeing the others shoulder blades pinned to the floor. Im 100% sure that someone with just 2 years of catch wrestling could destroy the average guy who is taller and has more weight, let alone 10 years of experience. Catch also inspired the fake professional wrestling by putting plants in the audiences and the plants would get one over on the wrestlers to make them look weak so ppl from audience would try to fight the strongmen. Inspired freestyle amatuer wrestling (the high school college and olympic wrestling) by taking out the submissions. And inspired Brazilian jiu jitsu from a japanese carnie strongman named Maeda who showed his style to the Gracies in Brazil and they made their own system.

Thanks for that. Something more to research!

@@josephszimhart9431 I find it very fascinating. Performing the old strongman exercises and learning abt the old guys who got very strong before steroids were invented. Modern day weight lifting strongman and bodybuilding is just full of very unhealthy steroid users. Catch wrestling is barely alive today. Was replaced with Brazilian jiu jitsu and it is thriving. I'm jealous that you got to see the mighty atom perform in person. Love the videos.

Why nobody make a movie about him

Yes, this would make a great film or documentary. His connections with Houdini and beating up several US Nazis by his "little" self is enough to hook an audience, but there is so much more to him.
