The Kirov launching those SS-N-19 is so awesome, its warheads were capable enough to take out a Nimitz in 2-3 missiles, plus the hail of defensive armaments it sends in the air against missiles is so cool, i might be bias, but armaments wise, NATO does not have anything even close to a Kirov, its a sad thing that sensors onboard a ship like that are not capable enough to outstand the AEGIS BASE 10, in any matter, they are too old 😞

Yeah this thing is great in video games where developers are trying and failing at "balance" in sim-level rts. In the real world they are a rusting pile of roubles, completely outdated by the time they were actually fielded, 10 years later. They can't even be maintained properly due to severe miscalculations in reactor design, hence the plans to modernize Admiral Nakhimov were scrapped. There is a reason why NATO never built anything like that - it is useless, and was even when created since USSR already had oscar submarines which were better platform for the same weapons.

We don’t know how much damage the P-700 would do IRL. It’s guaranteed a lot but I doubt that it’s manage to hit, especially not with the F-35 serving as an interception tool. DAS would have it picked up basically the moment it launches, meaning the moment it’s in range the pilot can sling 120s or 9xs at them

@@tangohotel2599 Where do you get F-35s in the 80s, AIM 120 AMRAAMs entered service in September 1991, besides, i said what 2-3 missiles like those can take out a nimitz, I am talking about the firepower, not the situation, in reality, none of this would happen in the first place.

@@ytsks NATO didn't build this type of vessel due to a complete difference in doctrine and requirements. Also these were very capable ships when they were fielded.

@@ytsks Her radar suite is too old, too weak (talking about Pyotr Velikiy, the only one active) and god knows when Nakimov will finish it's refit. Besides Mark 41 VLS provides versatility unlike the fixed VLS systems of kirov. So yeah, Kirov is old and out.

Kirov is one fearsome ship. The level of firepower is simply unmatched. Not even a Tico can measure up, mostly because of those Supersonic Granit Shipwreck missiles. This is one ship you definitely want to detect and engage if possible, early and far away from your fleet.

Well, Kirov and Tico had completely different roles, so measuring one up to the other makes no sense.

@@KwajYeah, fair. Ticonderogas’ role is fleet air defense, Kirov’s role is anti-surface warfare. It’s more analogous to an Iowa-class battleship, maybe?

A large Soviet nuclear-powered guided-missile cruiser... in the Bering Strait... with NO escorts... dropping off Spetnaz forces... in a rain squall. Strange scenario. The Ruskies couldn't hand this highly clandestine job off to one of the couple hundred diesel-electric subs they have? But yeah, the 'Shipwreck' missiles were amazing. The Soviets put a lot of R&D into their missiles for the sake of their military doctrine, and cool stuff was the result.

Just hold fire and get in range of all weapons, like the Silex. Also, some of your AA missiles have dual purpose? I would try to send those "secondary" weapons before, and right after it the SS-N-19's, so the enemy is very busy against silex and stuff, when the shipwrecks arrive. Dont split up your armament into 2 salvos, when engaging a lot of enemy ships at the same time. System overload so to say
