The Bucks were worse under Griffin despite thier record. People like to "forget" how crucial defense is for winning championships. Griffin implemented a scheme that made a top defensive player look like he was called up from the church league. People also don't highlight how tough the schedule was going to get at the end of January. The stretch of 5 western games would've been the true quality test for Griffin, however they were already exposed, losing games they should have won. Doc Rivers has the Bucks playing with a different energy and focus in fairly short amount of time. They aren't relying solely on their offense anymore. Even when they lose (and they will lose a few soon), it won't be as frustrating to watch. The point is, defense is crucial, and Griffin's success was misleading.

Yeah, but the media personalities don't watch the games. They make assumptions based on standings, box scores, and team statistics. I loved the Bucks as an organization for making the right decision and showing their commitment to winning. The story of the second half of the season was going to be how the Bucks collapsed after starting out 31 13. Easiest strength of schedule up until Griffin was fired. It was all about out scoring our opponents and that strategy was barely working against shit teams and was destined to fail against top competition.

Dame and Giannis are not a duo. They're a 1 2 punch. The goal is to get them the most minutes when the other isn't on the court. Think about 35 minutes a game, means optimal is playing them 22 minutes together and 13 minutes apart depending on what line up is working better then you lean more towards one than the other or more on them playing together. We knew the Bucks defense was going to improve under Doc because AG was running horrible schemes that left the players confused and out of position on defense, leading to the Bucks getting gouged in the paint and being out rebounded despite having great rebounders in Brook, Bobby, and Giannis. My only surprise is how quickly the team picked it up and how effective they've been on defense. Bucks are the perfect team to coach. You have Giannis best player in league, Dame is still top 15 and they're both about doing what it takes to win. That commitment and work ethic is embraced by the whole team. I've never been critical of Doc, because you have to look at the players. Doc doesn't make excuses, he provides explanations for why things happen. He's the most thorough coach I've ever heard on press conferences. And you can also see it in player press conferences. Watch Bobby Portis post game presser after the Clippers win. He sounds like a coach talking about defensive tactics.

Anyone that understands basketball, and has coach anything higher than middle school understands that we are taking about monumental changes in personnel and then coaches. Anyone who has coached understand, at the point Doc made the comment about taking over the team right before Allstar break would understand the difficulty of this. At that point they had only had 4 practices and were on the road. So you’re talking about implementing a new offense, a new defensive scheme, with a new players in two weeks with minimal practices on the road while traveling. So the Bucks team would have to learn all this on the fly, digest it, and implement it? Huh? So of course they’re going to look confused and not as good. And don’t give me this BS about they are pros folks still have to digest information and the coach still has to learn the personality with no training camp and going into the second half of the season which is critical. Just saying. And then people keep bringing up excuses huh.🤔

Here’s there problem really simply: they were a defensive juggernaut. They traded the best perimeter defender in the league for a shot chucking defensive liability. They fired a perfectly fine coach (although he had his shortcomings) because his team whose star was injured lost in the first round. They hired a guy with no experience and told him the goal is a ring, then proceeded to fire him and replace him with a coach known for his shortcomings more than his success. They broke up one of the best defensive teams in the league for “oh this pick and roll will be insane”. That’s it. They had absolutely no vision other than this will surely work.

Then you come with your video attacking doc Rivers, without presenting the whole story , but instead , you cherry pick , from the ignorant false narrative of the day , so you can be popular and get clicks . Have you ever researched and seen how many NBA teams that are in the playoffs, that had 3-1 leads and then lost ? Did you tell the fact that in Orlando , when the magic was up 3-1 they were under dogs? And that if anything, doc Rivers had done a good job even going up 3-1? Which to me is amazing, because if he had got swept 4-0 , no one would remember? Then the bubble team in 2020 , it was well documented that the players on the clippers really did not want to be in the bubble and they themselves didn't care if they lost because they wanted to leave . Some of the teams were bothered more by that environment than others , and the clippers were one of them . Doc Rivers comments about his hiring was authentic, unless you haters want to find reasons to misconstrue what he said . I guess he should lie to make himself look good . How do you know what he said in that interview wasn't true? Were you there ? It's just irresponsible for you, and others , like JJ reddick to make such claims .
