The part when you mentioned “momentum” is what resonated with me the most. The book “Compound Effect” speaks about the importance of momentum and the author calls it “having Big Mo” on your side like a coach. It’s easier when you keep going and stack momentum. Too many days off slows you down and it’s hard to build momentum back up again. Rest but don’t overdo it. That’s my personal experience.

A great day. 1: I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. I eat breakfast and have some coffee. 2: My employees show up for work on time and are ready to go right off the bat as work starts rolling in. 3: We start knocking jobs out of the park 1 after another 4: I make tips on top of what wage im already getting paid. 5: Customers are happy at our speed and communication. I'm happy. Problem is, 1 of those things are always out of wack. I'm thinking about going into businuess for myself. I can only be accountable for myself. My team can be lazy and super uncoordinated. My bosses can be really bad about communicating what they need and they take their frustrations out on us which makes me not want to work there, I want to open up my own business and put them out of business. Problem is, i still need more experience.

Lately a lot of people have been wondering why I don't take days off. My mindset was solidified when I watched your interview with Kobe Bryant. When he said he didn't take a vacation for x amount of time after being in the NBA. I tell myself: If Kobe didn't take a vacation at that high of a level in the NBA, then I don't deserve a day off. I think the last day where I took a day off might of been March this year. I hope to go much longer than that without a day off. I'm a firm believer in hard work, and I refuse to be outworked. Yeah, there are days where I may slack a little, but my slack is still better than 99.9% of the people's best at my level in my Industry. Granted, I'm still early in my career, and I'm not even in the same building with the best, but with my work ethic multiplied by decades, I'm very confident in my abilities to be the best cybersecurity professional. Everyday I think about being at the top. These videos don't even motivate me, it just confirms the stuff I already had in my head. Love the content.

We must learn to dominate the stuff of our inner being before we can have a dominating effect on our outer being. I know that for sure because of my many years of not being able to comfortably identify with being a competitive dominator. I just knew I wasn't ready, but we never really are. You have to try that "identity" on like a new suit, or dress and make adjustments until it is comfortable enough for you to wear with confidence. Some people make it look too easy, and we start to think you have to be born that way. We never see all the hard work, training, and trials and errors of their being, we just see them demonstrate the final product of their success, themselves.

Focus on customers not your competition. Mr Amazon said this before he sent himself to space and fell short by design. Do something truly innovating and you will be rewarded. And if you want profit and a lot of it; profit alone shouldn’t be the target of your business. You will get stuck, fast. In statistics it’s called cross valuation - it’s important.

As a single 27 year old who is a tax manager at a public firm, i do sometimes wish these videos were a bit more focused on the 25-30 year old who doesn’t own their own business yet. It’s tough to relate to some of the content as it’s usually based on professionals who are bosses rather than the people still in their journey to that boss level. With that being said, Been a subscriber for about two years now and will continue to be. Thanks for all you do.

I don’t think being an entrepreneur is the only way to go. Some are made to be entrepreneurs, others are made for the corporate ladder. You need to pick the right path for you and do your best. You can apply these rules the same way on your corporate journey as if you own the business. If you become a CEO of a company is going to pay you fair enough as well. Just follow your guts. Wish you all the best in 2022! :)
