The reason why he digs down to kill the golem is because on Pocket Edition the Iron golem can still reach you if you stack up 3 blocks.

That happens when there is a block nearby that is close to where you tower up so the golem use that block to hit you by standing on it. That's why it is better to tower up 3 blocks on a flat terrain or just dig down 2 blocks.

I did try pocket edition speedrunning but I quit pretty quickly, for three reasons: 1: the game controls are hopeless 2: the game was super slow for me and I often had lag spikes of 20 minutes or more (which in my book is more of a mountain range) 3: my ipad refused to record anything beyond 15 minutes in length, so my PB of 32:19, 7th place at the time, failed to record. I gave up in frustration. Having followed java speedrunning for more than a year now I am far better acquainted with its meta and so I would rather wait to get a PC than go through the torture of pocket edition speedrunning again

As a Pocket Edition player, I'm gonna say this now: PE players are not bad because of the platform, they're bad because of the game. The controls are made to look good, not be practical. As a result, all mobile players are at a huge disadvantage.

I remember when I was forced to play on pocket edition when I was replacing my cpu for a straight month, and it is absolute hell to play on, the controls are so hard, and even with an xbox controller the screen is tiny and its hard to mount or hold the 2. Props to the guy for sure

Something I want correct is that you don't have to touch where you want to place a block or kill you can change the settings to split controls which is basically like the arrow in the middle like java I use the arrow, tap anywhere but it's gonna be tapped only where the arrow is.

As a pocket edition player, ever since I have started playing the Java edition version it’s so weird for all these different buttons that I keep forgetting. When on pocket edition one of my best ways to get decent armor is by a villager farm that I make on all my survival worlds without making iron armor because all iron farms don’t seem to work and I usually need to be resourceful in early game. Personally I like pocket edition in terms of unique features(which is pretty much just bedrock), but in terms of servers Java is a definite winner.

I think pocket edition is underrated. I play on a large iPad and I have high levels on servers, and after getting used to it it’s not that hard! It sucks that people assume that pocket edition is a tiny phone, but iPads also count!

lol potatopie25, one of the biggest mcpe content creaters, was watching the premier. i am surprised with how quick this run is, though, You can tell he is on a phone, not on ipad, because of how the dpad is placed and its size, but mcpe is really hard because on phone you cannot use claw which is like using the dpad as a wasd with all fingers. if you play on kbm, imagine using one thumb to press wasd and have to stop aiming to fight something because you cannot tap and aim at the same time. congrats to gamer557!

Pocket edition has come a long way since I last played it. I remember limited worlds, the nether reactor, no biomes except plains and a snowy one, no end, no nether, only a few types of blocks available, no placeable water and lava, no multiplayer. Basically it was kinda trash ngl but it was all I could afford at the time.

I'ma be real, as someone who couldn't play java for like 6 years so played pe until I got a new computer, Minecraft has to be one of the BEST console/pc games ported on mobile. Not just because minecraft is an excellent game, but because of how well the controls work, especially compared to other first person games. Your left thumb handles movement and crouching, and the right can tap anywhere to place a block and look around. It does mean it takes an extra split second to turn after jumping, but other than that it all feels natural.
