@@AJIsUnbreakable Karl went over it in this video. Your ability to analyze the game in the random seed glitchless category is your most important skill. Set seed glitchless is more comparable to many other games. In set seed you are simply repeating the same exact actions over and over attempting to do every single movement perfectly. His sub 15 minute times are pretty terrible when compared to the sub 2 minutes of the top set seed speedrun.

@@BeowulfNorther That is the stupidest take on Minecraft ever. Sure mods make the game more expansive but vanilla Minecraft is not dull. It’s more than just “pigs and potions”. And it would be extremely difficult to add all this stuff to vanilla Minecraft. Modding is much easier than developing a game that millions of people play. You have to make sure it works on both bedrock and Java. You have to make sure the game has as few bugs as possible. Plus all that stuff you mentioned would ruin the feel of Minecraft.

@@anecro - I agree with you, but to clarify, he actually didn’t start speedrunning as a whole for one girl. It’s just the reason he gave for his first initial run that was caught. That was the one where he apologized for the fake leaving the nether WR, but insisted that his other runs were legit. The entire context is that he was apparently on call with her, she left to get toast, and in that time he found a really good seed and then accidentally threw it. When she got back he lied to her and told her that he didn’t get enough pearls because he didn’t want to look stupid. She asked if he was gonna upload it anyways, and at that point he decided to fully commit to the lie to impress her. Her side of the convo was also confirmed by her, so he’s not making anything up here. He’s just dumb as hell. In his newest apology for all of his runs (sans an 11 minute run that he insists is real but says he won’t verify), this is the reason he gives: “My reasoning for cheating these runs is quite long, and it involves a lot of personal/IRL reasons that I rather not get into. I'm open to talk about it in DMs with some people and I am open to anyone that wants to interview me/ask questions, but the IRL/personal reasons will not be answered in these interviews/questions.”

Someone took offense and noted that WBC wasn't killing people, and the response was that if WBC had the numbers that ISIS had (~30,000) that we would probably see domestic terrorism from them. The saddest part about people splicing runs together is that it gives a really bad reputation to anyone doing a segmented speedrun even if they are clearly marking it as segmented providing a lot of evidence showing that it is meant to be a segmented speedrun and not even trying to say it's all one segmented. I remember seeing examples of when someone could do a proper segmented run provide all the info about when each segment was done how it was done list it as a segmented run know it wasn't going to be accepted to the leaderboard but still at the very least assemble it into one video so people can view it But considering the amount of times people want to use that to cheat now people tend to stay away from even doing segmented style speedruns even if it is for practice sometimes.

@mageius
@mageius 2 жыл бұрын
@@eyeballqueenofrats Valid point, I'll say that segmented runs are a great way to practice some longer speedruns before doing them in a single segment. I mean would you want to practice anything that's over 5 hours in one go just to practice the later parts of the run or practice them them in segments. Longer runs are worth practicing in segments since you can set up different saves to represent the different ways you might get to a particular part in a single segment run.

"Just by looking how someone plays" actually divulges a lot of information, especially at the more competitive levels of gameplay. My own background is not with speedrunning but I've dabbled heavily into fighting games in the past, and in most cases you can just look how someone moves around or reacts in the first 10 seconds of a round, and you can reliably make out if it's a very skilled player or not. At the competitive level, just how people move around itself, is different from the lower bracket of skill.

Alot of the missteps people overlook while cheating seem very obvious to manipulate if someone was to do it again. For example. The 2 extra click audio's could be cut and the macro could reset the timer for the runner before they start the true resetting. With all the exposing that goes around speedrunning, it makes flaws in production noticeable to a point where someone could do it well enough to carve a name for themselves. Anyways great vid!

I love these videos. So many cheaters exist and so many people try to say that it never happens or that you can only tell if the person admits it. You can gauge things from inconsistencies in gameplay, mechanics, mentality, and many others and that is the part that almost always gets ignored by the White Knights trying to defend obvious cheaters.

They can be pathological liers, in that case they just cannot get out of their own web of lies, even is they get caught, they just make bigger webs and believe it will hold. And many times it will hold, if not checked by very strict ways or such, sometimes even then they will get defenders that will even take the blame if possible. Or just they know that it is their income, if they admit everything was a lie, they may lose all of their income, so they hope they can keep some part of it.
@ZipplyZane
@ZipplyZane 2 жыл бұрын
Their logic is probably that there's nothing to lose at that point. People already think they're a cheater and liar, so why not at least see if you can get away with some of it? They might as well roll the die. There's that one guy who got talked cheating in other games, but everyone decided he didn't cheat in in this latest game, as they couldn't find any evidence he cheated (even though he wouldn't do as they asked and show the direct connection of the console to the TV). I'm not saying he did cheat, but it shows that judges are willing to consider the idea you didn't cheat, even if they catch you cheating in other runs. You've already been outed as as liar and cheater, so the worse case is that you'll be outed as even more of a liar and cheater. But the best case is that one of your cheated runs sneaks by. It's a low chance, but not 0%.

but, can we talk about the leaderboards themselves allowing the goddamn hitbox highlighting and all that crazy f3 nonsense including whatever that pie-chart thing is in runs?!! wtf! how is that not cheating? it is literally a rule that WAS on the leaderboard requirements just a few years ago. you could not use any f3 nonsense. at all, full stop, not one frame of f3 info could apear on screen or your run WAS invalid. now they let you do the entire run using it.

Please cover the Warzone "content creator" cheating epidemic. MOST of the big content creators in the warzone community are using aimbot or radar, or both. It's absolutely insane. Activision is making literally billions of dollars due to the content creators blatantly advertising their in game products, and the streamers are making millions by cheating at the game. It should be a MASSIVE scandal considering the amount of money that's being thrown around.

@@Noxerpunk It's turning into a massive industry - activision is literally making billions of dollars using these "content creators" as advertisements for their game - showcasing new skins and weapons blatantly in their gameplay footage. It should be an absolutely MASSIVE scandal. Strange you say that considering Karl is coving a market manipulation topic that has nothing to do with speedrunning, no? The COD streamers themselves are making MILLIONS from their child fanbases by literally cheating and defrauding their viewers into the illusion that they're actually THAT skilled at the game. Anyone who's played a competitive FPS game for longer than a week knows that these guys are using assistance to "up" their gameplay. It's beyond obvious.
