speaking from the pack community: i've been here since 2015, and i've seen hundreds of people fade away, many friends that have moved on from the game as a whole, talented makers quitting because the pack making meta became default town. From being in the position of being inspired by my mentors and idols to inspire new generations of players and makers is insane. Time goes on but the legacy of the legends will live forever with us awesome video my man 💙

As someone who was very active during the covid era and blew up during that time, one of the things that made the game so enjoyable for me was not necessarily the game itself, but how much content there was about the game. There were hundreds of channels of all sizes releasing their own style of videos and there were tons of different communities to explore. The game goes through ups and downs naturally. Another example of this was in 2018 when PewDiePie started to play this game again and it had a huge surge in players.Back then, Hypixel was competing with Mineplex to be the #1 server. Then, Hypixel blew up and had 100k players almost daily. I expect there to be another peak some time in the future and it'll be interesting to see what new gamemodes exist.

And that's life! You yearn to relive the memories of the past, but they're never going to be the same as the you from 10 years ago is wildly different. What matters the most is that you experience those memories and remember them fondly!!! Time will always move on whether you like it or not anyways. Speaking as someone who's experienced a lot on Hypixel, things will never be the same- and that's okay. I'll still end up looking back at these years with nostalgia!

What really sealed it in for me was Stampylonghead quitting. That man was the one that got me into this game nearly 10 years ago and it was heartbreaking to see such a cornerstone of the community stop making his definitive type of content. We all grow up and change I guess, but the people who had been with us since our childhood are now gone; DanTDM, Captain Sparklez, TheSyndicateProject, now Stampy as well as many other OG creators. You mentioned mainly the creators during lockdown and in the PVP scene but I think this 'mass death' has spread beyond just the past few years, it's killed off most of the creators who've been with minecraft since day 1 too. All we can hope for is that the kids who start playing the game now have creators with the same level of talent for entertainment and integrity as most of ours did.

I also truly do wish that some of those amazing content creators would come back, you never know maybe it will happen. However, in all this I also have found a community of other players and friends who are truly amazing and I am glad to say I know them. This community is different to find and be in for each player, but when it is found it is amazing. To anyone reading this without that community, keep searching you will find it and you will love it. Since everyone else is doing it, I may as well jump on the hype train. Yo, I'm Cambron. I've gone through 26 usernames, I played InDev pocket edition when I was 5 years old, and Minecraft has a special place in my heart. I was here before the hunger bar, sprinting, and just about everything you can think of. To think that saying "I'm getting old" would work in the context of an 18 year old whos got his whole life ahead of him is interesting to say the least. As much as it sucks to admit it, the new generation has surpassed me. I used to be unstoppable in the pvp scene, but like Armegon said, everyone has to pass the torch down to the next generation at some point. I did that without realizing it. I bought my 10 year old cousin a copy of Minecraft Java Edition for his birthday last year and ever since then he sends me updates and posts on his youtube channel all the time. I'll be honest, he's trash, but seeing how proud he is of everything he does makes it really cool. He can't wait to show me everything when I see him twice a year. To think that I have college to worry about now is wild, because I used to live and die for this game. Honest to God I wish I was able to experience the 2013-2017 pvp era. All in all, I'm glad I was able to experience what I did. I met so many great people here on Minecraft and I built relationships I wouldn't have been able to have otherwise. Cheers to the future!

All the PvP methods I just perfected are dying. It's been so sad to watch all of the bedwars youtubers move on. All of the years I spent watching UHC, and hunger games, and hcf and I was too late to play them. Now it's a new type of pvp. I'm sure in 10 years when crystal, sky battle, and battle box are dying, I'll look back like you did. I'm glad that I was able to be a part of the bedwars and skywars scene for the short time that I was. I hope that the new PvP scene is just as influential.

I've been around in minecraft for over 10 years, but the community that I've seen the entirety of is build battle on hypixel. I resonate with what you've said for that community alone. It started of as something fun, something casual, something big youtubers made videos on and we had fun building. There wasnt much a community, but we were still connected with ideas. Ffw to 2017-2019, a community started to grow, with 2019-2020 being the peak of new metas, pushing the limits, rivalries, grinding, drama, friendship, content creation. This was the build battle that made me fall in love with the game again. Over time, it became less and less, with most og players leaving, all content creation dying, and new strats not being talked about. There was nothing to discuss anymore, the game got stale. 2022 was probably the worst year for it, bb as a community felt really dead. 2023 has made a recovery, with the rise in newgen popularity with guess the build, I've come back and learnt all these amazing new people in the scene and the new metas they've pushed to the limits. While the main build battle modes may be empty, this small pocket is thriving, theres competition and grinding again, multiple guilds, and a reason to grind the game again. It's not what I grew up with back in 2015 onwards, it's not what made me fall in love with the game in 2019, but still seeing a part of the game live on, and me being able to continue playing the same minigame after 8 years is worth something.
