You might want to spemd a few weeks 'prepping' before you go full carnivore. By this I mean: slowly eliminating white foods like sugar, processed flour, bread, pasta etc. We can get addicted to thses simple carbs, and going cold Turkey can be stressful - which relates to what he said earlier on about how it doesn't work for some people. Ease your body into this, or you might raise your cortisol levels being stressed out being suddenly deprived of foods you are used to. Health is mind, body and soul - so be gentle with each. Take your time to change to a healtheir way of eating. Making small changes that you can stick with is better than jumping in the deep end and finding two weeks later you are struggling. For me.... it was sugar and bread. And it's taken me 6 months to finally change my tastebuds to not want them. I struggled to lose weight past a certain point .... and I think it was partly the cravings stressing me out . Definitely go for it.... you will feel SO MUCH BETTER. Just take time getting there so it isn't a shock to your body or your mind. :)

I just bought half a beef for the first time and am so excited to have a freezer full of grass fed beef that was raised 10 miles from where I live! It was so great to speak with the butcher and have the bones left in the steaks and get a fattier burger and I had him grind the heart and liver into my burger. I hate beef liver but having it ground into the burger makes it so much easier to get into my diet. This is my first time eating fully grass fed beef and it smells like grass and even tastes a bit like grass…but I absolutely love it and how it makes me feel. This spring I’m ordering another and hoping to try wagu this time…looking forward to a fattier beef as the one I have now is pretty lean. Lucky for me to live in Vermont and have the ability to buy meat and raw milk from my neighbors. ❤️. Some incredible food products come out of Vermont.

I've sifted through all the information as regards diet and health and have narrowed my food choices down to this: I grow cattle and eat them. I drink water and consume unprocessed salt. That's my diet. What I DO NOT CONSUME -- FIBER from ANY source, not even "soluble" fiber, as is in coffee. NO FIBER I'm 74 and fit. Edit: If you want to live long on the earth, get your cholesterol up -- WAY UP -- like 400 to 600. I know what you're thinking. Forget all that. We've been lied to. In the 1940s, "normal" blood serum cholesterol was 400. Statins were introduced in 1951, but nobody needed them, so the clever pharmaceutical industry (which funds teaching medical schools, by the way), LOWERED THE BAR to 200. Now, EVERYBODY needed statins. Don't believe me? Do your research.

Rena, please interview T.C. Hale. He is not a doctor but is the only "health educator" I have found so far that has a fleshed out explanation for Dr. Goldkamp's "dirty little secret" why keto only works for some and not others. Stress can be a factor, but it can be much simpler or complicated than that. I have recommended Mr. Hale to the Keto/Carnivore gurus (ironically, males who may be threatened by an outsider who contradicts the new orthodoxy), but you don't exhibit the certitude of their convictions. I'd be curious to hear what questions you'd pose and his answers.

I am convinced that Dr. Goldkamp is a brilliant individual, but like so many of these high-powered people, he is not the best communicator. Unfinished sentences ate rice, run-on sentences even more so. He’s giving us his (brilliant) stream of consciousness instead of a well-planned narrative tailored to your audience, which is a very mixed group. I tried just following the transcript, but the rambling nature of the narrative became even harder to follow. I got through abt 45% of the video but my head was buzzing trying to follow the gentleman. Perhaps later I’ll come back and try to finish the rest. With all respect.

I am going to keep my black teas for some while, but I did not add any sugar, for the first time in my life,, but I am having a small piece of President cheese with each of my tea. I've suffered with ulcerative colitis for about 25 years and many of those years. It has been very severe. Medication has never solved the problem. Doctors never wanted to address diet with me. Conventional doctors anyway. Thank God for naturopaths and chiropractors who are open to discussing real food. Thank you for your information here. I am one month in to eating carnivore and although I had already changed my diet a lot, I cut out a lot more things, and the rest of my symptoms have gone away. It's very exciting to see even more hope! My G.I. doctor wanted me on medication that causes a lot of symptoms and I told him that I was going to solve this diet. It will be wonderful going back and having become completely healed without drugs! I was never really a meat eater. I would eat meat, but not very much and I am really enjoying eating meat! We need to eat fattier cuts. It really makes a difference! I have about 20 pounds to lose. I do need to cut out the dairy and although I drink decaf, I have been putting plain cream in there so I think that's holding me back. Time to drink more water! I don't want to let something hold me back from my goal so thank you for the inspiration!

I'm confused. Some people in this community think that doctors make you sick and that doesn't seem rational or level headed. I accept that there are some duvets who should never have been showed best patients. But going back to the days when it was thought that four bodily humours ruled your body and that your"birthchsrt" also dictated health just doesn't seem wise to me.I do know of some very unhinged vegans but I know some nice ones as well. Generalities are fairly useless in some cases, such as this.

@@india1422 it may be because we're living in a time when the profit motives may have overtaken the healing intentions of doctors. The pressure to prioritize profit may come from hospital administrators, big pharma sponsors, or maybe other industry players. Profit driven regulations and policies can have a negative influence on doctors. So if doctors are under these kinds of pressure, then it will obviously affect how they treat patients. Otherwise, they might be fired for not being profitable, etc.

That way I'll keep away from the pesticides etc. A little worrying that I cannot afford meat straight from cattle farmers or butchers, so my meat is shrink wrapped in plastic, but yep, doing what I can (even cooking in ceramic pot and using thickened glass for storage - although most ceramics have a plastic glasing to them these days!) Again thank you SO much, choc-a-block full of info!

@@fredmckibben6872 Good point, but here in the UK the Iron Pans (Skillets) I looked up to purcahse all had some slight leaching... copied from search 'An American Dietetic Association study found that cast-iron cookware can leach significant amounts of dietary iron into food. The amounts of iron absorbed varied greatly depending on the food, its acidity, its water content, how long it was cooked, and how old the cookware is.' so I still say a well-made cermaic bowl with thickened glass lid is better, needs to be as pure as can find (for the UK and EU it's mostly French Pyrex brand). But yeah, Iron is no where near as bad as some metal pans, and non-stick coating is by far the worst, so an Iron Pan is not the worst choice.

Ok, another comment here (note I am a carnivore, not keto): This doctor does not think that those 50% of people who did not get a result from Keto lied about their diet. Well, you ask anyone if they were really on the diet that failed and they will usually tell you yes. Pull the string a bit (as one guest you had on recently did regarding the carnivore diet) and you usually find that: patient: "Yes, i was fully carnivore" Doctor "What exactly did you eat/" patient "Fetta cheese and nothing else" That is a too typical example, people just don't like to admit they did not do their research properly or knew better and amended the recommended diet. To be blunt, in this modern age, many people are semi-literate and could not follow precise directions if their lives depended on it. I am sure a very small percentage of people cannot do keto (and gain from it), because their systems are so compromised, and need to go onto carnivore. PS. i am sure some people (without a compromised system) really did give Keto a go and did it correctly and got no result, but way, way less than 50% This fellow is definitely suffering from confirmational bias.

That’s not what Kelly Hogan, Judy Cho and Anthony Chaffee say re liver. Anthony says that it’s a myth that people long ago or in hunter gather societies frequently ate liver or other organs. He talks about how they could kill a large animal that would last a winter and there was only one liver which would last a few weeks at most. He also talks about Vilhalmer Stepphanson talking about when he lives with the Inuit they threw most of the organs out to the dogs. Kelly Hogan has been healthy without organ meats for 15 years including regaining her fertility and having healthy pregnancies and children.

Loved listening to this doctor. I cleaned up my diet about five years ago and started eating grass-fed meat after being a vegetarian for about 45 years. My days of being plant based are over and now I struggle with preventing osteoporosis and dealing with old injuries that left me with some very painful arthritis. Presently I am using turmeric, bromelin ,quecetin, and bosweilla along with a rub on pain relieving creme. I walk forwards and backwards everyday but it is difficult because of pain in my knees. Would this doctor please address this if possible in a later podcast. Thanks for having him on.

But I get the carnivore people point, plus name it Lion is kind of powerful.

If you go to a Dr and test positive for diabetes it goes in your health record. Your place of employment can find that out. If you can go buy a CGM you can see what your numbers are without involving the health care industry. Most Drs don't believe diabetes can be cured. Especially by us common people out here. We didn't go to medical school and therefore we aren't smart enough. They would rather give us scrips and justify their existence.

I tried the Paleo Diet and it works beautifully. I do not get sick from this diet. I regret doing the Keto Diet before. So much unnecessary suffering! Paleo is the answer for me. I also noticed that with Paleo I lost weight more easily and quickly than the Keto diet. I was eating fruits for carbs and I was getting better results. I avoided caffeine, milk products, and all grains even gluten free ones and that was the key for my weight loss. I was severely allergic to these. I noticed feeling lighter the very next day. No one told me this before on the Keto Diet. In reality it was the exact opposite.🙂

@@radiantlifecoding5925 One of the major causes of auto immune conditions relate more to the stress reaction, as is the case for MS and other major issues, even the allergy defensive mechanism, has proven to be connected to the deeper sensitivities we have built around life and that connection can be triggered with foods on some level, and what we ate at times of high negative stress. It's not as cut and clean as you may have been advised, why do you believe the body suddenly turns upon itself, what caused the trigger or reaction? Most food in balance way and not overeaten can sustain a healthy existence, if we as human beings did not add the stressful response to the equation. Too many scientific studies have clearly demonstrated that it is not necessary the food we consume, but the reactive response we have to events and life that can be the biggest problem, we laterally get in our own way!

Roughly 70% of our diet came from animal sources, which means we're hyper carnivores. An omnivore is like 20-40% carnivore is in between those two ranges. Most hunter gatherers historically used plants as fall back food sources and other uses. Meat was usually the main food source. Modern hunter gatherers often have to make do as the environments have changed, and there is often less larger prey as well as being cleared off their ancestral lands

I apologize, I didn’t catch the reason for taking/ eating liver, other than it’s good for you. I read that the benefit of consuming desiccated liver was for vit B12. That it’s just as good to take vitamin b12 as it is to consume liver. There has to be more to it. I can guess the benefits, but I would like to hear from the miracle dr.

I don't care for liver, liverwurst is better. The most delicious fantastic pate I've had, I make at home! Rinse the liver, cover with powdered milk, learned from French cuisine, let sit @10min, rinse clean, lightly cook, process in processor/blender with bacon grease till smooth, virtually no liver flavor, only COMPLIMENTS and enhanced bacon flavor. FANTASTIC! More or less grease as to please. I'm @20% of total. You can use milk, have to marinate 30-60 minutes.

Thank you very much for this video! Very informative. Would appreciate knowing what kind of blood work I should ask for? I am turning 57 next month and I am in great health (Thank God). I kite surf. I paraglide, lift weights and bicycle regularly. However, I have a hip injury because of a major motorcycle accident. I have titanium metal plates on my hip, but I’m relatively mobile but cannot do a lot of walking and ZERO running. Bicycle is now my main Cardio. Please give me information as to what kind of medical bloodwork I should ask for to be able to check my overall health thank you very much. I hope to hear from you soon.

Another silly headline. Gosh this man can talk. He was asked about what food he eats. Jeez, I almost lost the will to live. Is there anybody on here NOT pushing merchandise? You, Laura Spath, Beef and Butter Gal, Mindy Pelz, probably a few more, ALL pushing the same stuff. Makes me wonder and trust you less.

I continually get stuck with liver. I come from a family who is very picky and can’t stomach much of anything. I, on the other hand, can eat nearly anything and enjoy it, but even I can not stomach liver. I’ve tried it twice and got through one bite. It tasted like the most foul disgusting rotten rancid thing I had ever eaten. I swore after the second try I would never attempt it again. When I consider it’s function it’s no wonder it tastes so toxic and rotten. I still have a ton of reservations about eating anything that filters so much toxic filth from the body. I would have to go with the pills. If I knew I had to consume liver regularly, Im absolutely certain I would develop anorexia again. I would begin to put off eating. That is the one thing I still can’t understand how people develop a tolerance for. The taste alone just feels so wrong to my mouth and brain and that doesn’t even begin to cover the displeasure of the texture.

I think some of the like or dislike of liver is definitely related to whether you grew up eating it. My mother made it once a week, and prepared and cooked it "right" so that it was tender and mild tasting, and I love the stuff. I did NOT grow up eating fish, and I feel about it the way you expressed you feel about liver, though I have taught myself to tolerate it. There are some convincing studies out there that address the concern you raised about it filtering toxins; all that I've read agree that filtering is not storage and liver is actually a clean meat. It IS a miraculous source of nutrients. I'm commenting because your mention of developing anorexia "again" caught my attention. If you feel you have need of the benefits of liver, I'd like to encourage you to try: cod livers (they come in a can like sardines and are very mild, barely taste liver-ish at all), Carnivore Aurelius' liver chips (sliced chip-thin and dried, smell liver-ish but don't taste it so much - keep your nose away from the bag and use them like chips in your favorite dip), Middle Eastern and/or Eastern European recipes for cooking liver (maybe you can find a restaurant that'll let you try their versions - they use some great spices to cover over the strong liver-ish taste), or pills like Ancestral Supplements' liver capsules. Starvation is the enemy. Avoid whatever triggers that. Good luck!

I've never had liver growing up and fried lightly in butter and onions, it's great. It's like egg yolks, you don't want to overcook or they go rubbery and gross. I find the way I make them, thin cut and cooked low and not very long, basically tastes like.. meat, not anything weird
