Next, there should be a married young adults cruise. And we can discuss marriage and children so we can prepare for making and bringing up new Lutherans!

Were you to gather at a local hotel with meeting rooms for these discussion groups your time could be doubled, you are not that far from home, your health and safety are at a higher level.

Thanks for sharing. You made me think about the importance of this event. To me, it feels like the old and new testament come together. The promises and then Jesus, the fulfilled promise.

As a Roman Catholic I enjoy learning from you as well.

If that is what you believe, then you are not Catholic, but "Catholic in name, only," also known as CINO.
@forehead9499 ай бұрын
@@peterxuereb9884 I go to a Traditional Latin Mass. Consider myself to be an extremely traditional Catholic. I have no delusions about Luther and our differences. Doesn’t mean I can’t listen to a Lutheran pastor talk about things. So you don’t listen to any protestestant channels? I can listen to opposing viewpoints and discern what is congruent with Catholicism and what is not.
@peterxuereb98849 ай бұрын
@forehead949 No, I don't listen to any theologically opposing channel and then praise them. I try and correct them, for they are in error. In praising someone for their error. How will they know that they are in error all your doing is cementing them in error.
@forehead9499 ай бұрын
@@peterxuereb9884 you are not correcting anything so far. Only accusing. So you wouldn’t complement a Protestant if they have a video on something the Church agrees with? I get into debates and correct people all the time on videos. Trust me I get it. But don’t accuse me of being a fake Catholic without evidence

If I had to rephrase my comment I’d say “I enjoy listening to your perspective” instead of saying I’m “learning” necessarily because this isn’t new stuff for me.

I am glad you continued beyond the what if Pilate or the soldier with the hammer had seen Jesus' glory. If Jesus did not die, we wouldn't be talking about it today and we would be lost in our sins with no hope of salvation. As far as the question about the revealed glory of Jesus my quick thought is that it was the glory of the perfect man. My quick answer because I am answering based on only having seen your video. Hello from the Worldwide Bible Study.

It was nice of you to mention Luther's commentary about Genesis. It's something I had heard preached from other churches and wondered what Lutherans thought about it. That is Adam and Even having been clothed in glory. I'm surprised Luther was open to the idea.

Just for the record Elijah wasn’t taken up in the chariot, he was taken up in the whirlwind. The chariot only separated him and Elisha.

In Exodus 33:18-23 Moses asks to see God's glory. He is allowed to only see God's back while he was protected in the cleft of the rock. Possibly a reference to the place where the spear pierced the body of Jesus. Moses could not see God's face, or he would die. Earlier in Exodus 33:7-11 at the tent of meeting Moses would enter the tent, then the Glory of the Lord would descend (vs9) and stand at the entrance ...and Moses got to speak with God face to face (vs11) I think he was speaking with the preincarnate Christ at these times. skip ahead to chapter 40: 34 After the assembling of the Tabernacle when the cloud covered the tent, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. (vs35) Moses was not able to enter the Tent .. because the cloud had settled and filled the Tabernacle. I think God's full glory was there in those times. Based on this quick study I still think they beheld the glory of the perfect man Jesus.

Heretical theology.
@forehead9499 ай бұрын
What part is heretical? He keeps it pretty vague. Quoting Luther? Making an analogy with AI? He gives a pretty wholesome interpretation of the transfiguration but I don’t know how the theology in this video could be heretical. There’s plenty to disagree with Lutherans on but I don’t see it here so much. I’m open for you to prove me wrong.
