Character assassination of Master Fu and Adrien hurt me so much. Something that was important to me was Adrien getting to meet Master Fu one day and getting a mentor-mentee kind of relationship from him, where he could've had an adult male figure in his life who actually can give him some good wisdom. Instead, Master Fu gets nuked in characterization for... well, for what reason I still don't quite know (I think to promote Marinette is a dumb reason and CANNOT accept that as why they choose to get rid of such an important character with so much potential yet still) and Adrien gets nuked into nothingness too, basically just being a traumatised object of Marinette's affections. We missed out on something super vulnerable and empowering about positive masculinity between Adrien and Master Fu and it hurts me so much that something like that never happened EDIT: And they could've resolved Master Fu's main character arc through how he could've mentored and been a master to Adrien. UGH. It hurts so much how none of this stuff ever happened. And JAGGED STONE BECOMING A GUARDIAN??? Yeah, because a super secret order would let a world-famous celebrity join. Because it's top secret, y'know? Seriously.... this show

To be fair, the celebrity that's a secret agent has been done before. This show is a bit dated, but look up Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kids from Hanna Barbara. Totally Spies also introduced a former agent who was now the wife of a world leader. Also, afew Power Rangers have gone on to pursue music, modeling, acting, sport and political careers in universe (part of them after the the main villain is defeated, but not all ). It can be done, but it works only if it adds to the world building and story.

It pissed me off that Su Han didnt train Marinette or Adrien at all. We could have gotten new stuff that Fu wasnt privy too since he was in training., or he could be a confidant in case Marinette felt like she was a terrible Guardian. He could have replaced Fu but still be strict. But no, he contributes nothing to the plot and when he finally decides to do so, he trains Luka and Jagged Stone. Not to mention how once does Marinette not go to the actual Order. Heck Gabriel doesnt go there either!

The main issue with the show is they often keep one issue for one episode instead of taking the bigger issue that's not finished yet and slowly solve it throughout the season. They wanted everything to be done in one episode, two if they're feeling generous, which is once in a blue moon.

I agree that a scene between Fu and Su Han would've been nice to close off Fus story, but it's not a waste that it didn't happen imo. The bigger waste is the character of Su Han. He's the only character that we know so far that is a full guardian. So he can decypher the grimmoire, has knowledge about the Miraculous and the Miracle boxes from his training, knows how to use Miracle Fu and has experience being a real guardian. If the Chinese Miracle Box is so important to protect, I would assume it's not a bad idea for Su Han to train Ladybug. If Ladybug is so overwhelmed with the guardianship, maybe it's not a bad idea to ask an experienced guardian for help when it comes to these matters. I feel like it's a missed opportunity for Marinette to come up with her own way of being a guardian: Being taught the traditional way by Su Han and respecting his traditions, but adding her own twist to it from her and Fus experience to adapt to the "modern world"

Totally agree! Having him be the one to teach Marinette more advanced magic would have provided an explanation for how Marinette, a total newbie, was able to so easily invent things like her anti-reakumatization charms and her other changes when Fu couldn't even figure out the potion spell alone, despite having spent like a century with the kwamis. If we had seen her get training from an expert like Su Han, even if only in a montage, they could have used her intentions as a way of showing how her "true ladybug" creativity let her build on and improve what she was taught

Ok, but seriously, how did the writers mess up this bad. They build up the order as this secret organization pulling the strings in season 2. But then they do nothing with that! The guardian who appears in the New York special, so far, never seen again, even in the final battle. Su han, he exists to be a minor antagonist and littleraly jumps away. We never see anymore of the order, and Jagged, Luka, and Penny randomly join in season 5...in a manner of days. One of my biggest issues with the show is that they plant the seeds of worldbuild, but forget to water them often until it's too late

I have a theory that the reason why Luka was trained by Su-Han is because Su-Han found out that Luka knew who Ladybug and Cat Noir were, so Su-Han took him in as an apprentice to keep Luka safe from akumatizations and possibly as a future new guardian of the Miracle Boxes.

In my own fanfic/rewrite, I wrote that Master Fu and Marianne have an antique shop as a perfect cover for him to hide the miracle box in their bedroom. Master Fu had a wasted character role, so I wrote him in a way that HE gives the others their miraculous. The whole Ladybug making all her friends and classmates miraculous holders while it's still being taboo for her to know Chat Noir's identity is total BS. I don't claim to be better than the official writers, I just gave Fu a role that made him still active and yet hidden in plain sight.

I'll say it again: You know, for the past years, I've heard flaws of Marinette, Adrien, Gabe, Chloe, Lila, Nathalie, and many more characters. However, the only character that is least talked about in the fandom has got to be Master Fu! Seriously, why does anybody rarely *and I mean RARELY talks about him?* This man needs to get called out more! I don't know about you guys, but Master Fu has got to be (well, at least, in my opinion) THE WORST CHARACTER in this show. An even worse character than Marinette, Adrien Chloe, and yes, even Gabriel! He is the worst character than anyone that I can impossibly imagine. Here's why: Tell, *tell* me how can a mentor like him be so irresponsible, letting two young, fourteen-year-old teenagers save the world without be proper equipped and guided. I know that he had chosen them to be heroes based on their positive personality traits, but come on! Could he at least give them some proper training at least? No wonder Marinette and Adrien turned out the way they are. Because, realistically, imagine if a stranger just comes out of nowhere and tells me that I'm going to be the next hero and then leaves me unattended. Of course I'll start doing whatever I want because, genuinely speaking, I don't know the first thing about superheroing! He never gave me any important rules that I have to follow or avoid any severe consequences because I have all the authority to do whatever I want, but to avoid revealing my secret identity. Marinette and Adrien got away with so many shenanigans, because Master Fu never said, "Don't abuse your power by stalikng your friends houses, exposing secrets among friends when it's not really necessary, to steal, to violate your partner-in- crime's space and privacy, nor to steal or to keep secrets from others." The man just walked off the job! Even knowing that Marinette gets to see him more than Adrien, he still showed no commitment to his training. You probably see shows like Young Justice and Teen Titans, where even though they aren't perfect, the teenage superheroes did a better job in their heroing. You know why? They have been trained a lot, even some starting from a young age! Considering that Master Fu have dealt with a complicated relationship with his former/current partner himself, he should've instruct the kids on the important issues that could be introduced if they let their emotions get the better of themselves; maybe then they would become better heroes, but no, it's too much work for an old guy like him, right? 😉 Now look what we have: a crumbled teenage boy lock up in an empty room somewhere in his parents' mansion, and a mentally unstabled teenage girl have to risk her child-adolescent hood to be a GUARDIAN ON HER OWN, WITHOUT BEING ASSESSED IN THE VERY BEGINNING WITH LITTLE TO NO HELP, with you, Master Fu, lying your crusty, smelly botty in bed feeling good about yourself! What a guardian! 😒

@theCantinafan I think you misinterpreted it. I'm trying to say is that the majority of the fandom loves to pick on the flaws of Marinette and Adrien, especially. When really, it's Master Fu who is the problem towards their development. Sure Adrien and Marinette have flaws, but you can't deny the fact that Master Fu had rarely given them any training. Sure, they are teenagers and they going to do wreckless things. However, for Master Fu, it's his responsibility to guide them and train them to become better heroes. Master Fu's absence is what lead towards Adrien and Marinette's character regressions in seasons 4 and 5. If someone doesn't give rules for their trainees, obviously they are going to end up doing what they want. I hope this is clear to you.

Why always a Lucky Charm ? Can't they beat the villain with physical abilities ? Why do Chat Noir can't destroy Akuma but Ladybug can Purify Akuma ? Ladybug has 3 Powers : Creating (Lucky Charm and even that, there is a stronger power Nathaniel and the goat Miraculous) Fixing ( Miraculous Ladybug ) And Purify. I know the Ladybug supposed to be the strongest but come on. The problem is Miraculous Ladybug forces the status quo and don't have A EVIL foe. Lila ? Huh, she hates Mari because she exposes her lies. Okay when i see others villains in others shows, I Can't help myself to want to be in the writting room of Miraculous. In Season 4, Lila appears in 7 épisodes. The number of Dragon Balls and Chaos Emerauds and she is supposed to be the main villain ? Yeah no especially when i know she will be in theory the same villain as Gabe in terms of Power. And when i Know there are 15 HEROES ! Urghhhh

I don't think they explored the concept of Master Fu and The Guardians to its full potential, which is one of many concepts whose potential was ignored in favour of a love square that's been done to death. When Master Fu and the concept of the Miraculous Guardians were introduced, it should have been a foundation of understanding the lore about the Kwamis, the Miraculous, the Guardians, heroes and how far back the history of the Miraculous and its chosen champions go. Like when we got to the point of Master Fu's introduction, we could have had a kind of flashback narrative using the art style of the spell book to depict a Miraculous Guardian wearing clothes in a colour similar to Su Han's or of their native heritage holding a miracle box standing in front of their chosen champion like for example, a guardian who chose the Egyptian Ladybug, and we see the champions transform into their hero selves setting out to vanquish the evil that has disrupted the balance. As Master Fu tells this tale of the Miraculous, Guardians and Champions, we see the spell book narrative go through a time transition as guardians and heroes of different eras a briefly depicted from generation to generation until it brings us to the current scene of Master Fu and Marinette who are the current era's Guardian and Champion. This would leave us with the introduction to the lore but leave the mystery of why Master Fu is the only guardian. Then, when we get to the introduction of the power ups, we could have gotten a flashback of a guardians working with some different kwamis to discover the power ups that they bestowed upon the heroes to help them in battle which ends the flashback with the shot of the aqua-form Ladybug in the spell book. Next would bring us to the FEAST incident that reveals why Fu is the only guardian we know so far but with the revival of the Tibet Guardian temple, just as we got cameos of Gabriel, Tomoe and Audrey watching the news, we also see at least 2 or 3 of the other Guardian Temples around the world that have evolved over years witness the return of one of their sister temples signalling to them that new Ladybug and Black Cat champions have been chosen, kind of like how in Avatar The Last Airbender, Aang's awakening triggered the statues of his past selves signalling the Avatar's return. This would give a glimpse that there are more miraculouses than we had thought as well as more temples opening the prospects of possible other heroes and miraculouses. Which would bring us to the New York Special in regards to the Eagle Miraculous which would portray the idea that not all miraculouses were retrieved from their holders by the guardians before the holders passing and thus some may have ended up lost to the sands of time leaving the guardians trying to find them or notifying their sister temples to be on the look out for the lost miraculouses. So when the Guardian in New York arrives to retrieve the Eagle Miraculous but is convinced to stay and create a new generation of heroes, we get a scene of the Temple he comes from receiving word of this and making plans to get in contact with Ladybug and Chat Noir as Kwamis in the background of that temple are eager to reunite with their fellow kwamis after so long which gives the prospect of the spin off in New York. As for Master Fu losing his memory, maybe they could have made it like some kind of trick on ShadowMoth, where Ladybug is still the new Guardian but Master Fu still retains his memories, and him leaving could be him going to contact one of the other possible temples while staying in touch to give Marinette lessons and guidance while acting as a link between Ladybug and the other guardians he meets. So for the time being ShadowMoth is convinced that the previous guardian is gone. However, with the Shanghai Special, it could glimpse into the darker weight of guardianship like how while little is known about the Miraculous to outsiders, the jewels are still mentioned as valuable which could draw those with dark hearts who are willing to do anything, even kill, to get the Miraculous for their own selfish desires which contradicts what the jewels like the Prodigious and the Renlings stand for. Also, the mention of Renlings to Master Fu after Marinette's trip through a video call would introduce to us that there are other Kwami-like beings such as the Renlings and jewels like the Prodigious out there that are similar yet different in what they represent in reality. As for Su Han, his introduction and his earlier views could be used as a comparison of how the previous guardian views were not very helpful when compared to ladybug's views but there can be flashbacks of why some of the rules Su Han had came to exist like maybe an experience with a previous holder that didn't work out. Also, the factor of Luka going to Brazil one minute and suddenly having been trained by Su Han, who we also don't know how he got to Brazil so fast, didn't really transition well for a time skip. It would have been better to see the possible temple in Brazil and Luka meeting the Guardians there who are probably caught off guard by how Luka notices the Miraculous motif in their clothes that others didn't notice but we get Su Han vouching for Luka and explaining how he knows it and partly explaining the circumstances to Penny and Jagged but not mentioning Marinette being Ladybug which leads to them to teaching Luka Miraculous Kung Fu as a junior guardian of sorts. Plus, it would be interesting to see the birth of a Kwami when a new concept comes into existence and how it happens as well as the factor of if some Kwamis can be evil if the concept they represent is very negative or if some Kwamis have been locked away in the fabrics of time and space unlinked to any jewels because they are too chaotic. It would also be interesting to see if some for Miraculous holders became Guardians of if some were exposed to magic in a way that it made them immortal to never age, so they travel switching from identity to identity when abnormality of their inability to age can't be easily ignored by the public, so they have to disappear for a while. Maybe some kids who we may meet later are actually older but appear as teenagers as they were saved and raised by Guardians and serve as somewhat messengers or substitute heroes when the chosen champions are in trouble or to observe the champions in case the champion is corrupted and the Miraculous in question has to be retrieved immediately. The memory loss spell could also have been a defense mechanism of if there were any evil guardians who could be subdued by erasing their memories. However, maybe one of the evil guardians could have found a loophole to this centuries ago and maybe created a dark disciple in the form of Lila or something like that.

I don't think Fu was ever supposed to be a full character like Chloe wasn't supposed to get a redemption arc. I think most of season two and anything regarding the guardians wasn't supposed tohappen. I think many shitty last second changes happened because things that weren't supposed to happen were well liked.

Personally I can't help but think instead of having gabe make a wish....why not have ladybug offer a to have gabe meet yhe guardians who are 0rofessionals who could then save nathalie, save Emilie who was in a miraculous coma and try to fix what ever side effects he was having from his miss use of the miraculous. Whoch would adress that gabe had gone the hawkmoth route because he was desperate and there was no one around to help him because the guardians were gone. Since thematically akuma villians are victims who feel lonely abs wronged and who try to solve their problems in the worst ways because they can't think clearly and don't think anyone will help. Considering this all started because the guardians took fu from hjs family when he didn't want to be a guardian and they never adressed that turmoil in him til it manifested in feast. And gabe found the butterfly and peacock and had a untranslated book and all the guardians were gone so he had no one to go to for help. Anx by the time he doubled down on his pretend to be a villian to activate the miraculous needed for the wish. Where he then doesn't ask for help because why would he think ladybug and chat woukd believe him. Where in the end him being so focused on the wish he didn't realize the guardians came back so he coukd have a new way to save his wife. Where instead of how he should just give up on saving his family and should just expect her to due...the point is he went about it wrong abd that him calming down enough to LISTEN to ladybug and ladybug listening to his issue and that he needs help. Her offering the guardians who are professionals who might be able to save the mom and nathalie and gaberiel WITHOUT the wish being nessacary felt like a missed opportunity. And that the miracle woukd be you get better solutions if you ask for help and open up anddont try to solve everything yourself.

I’m so glad someone finally made a video on how much potential the base story is, very rarely are shows with a story as good as this a love story, nor is it that cliche. It really captured an area in entertainment that hasn’t been explored that much. OK, here's how I think they wrote the story about the Guardians. Originally they came up with the idea of ​​this order to give Fu a backstory. They probably had no plans to do anything with the Guardians for a long time, which is why they specifically wrote Fu so that he is the last of them. But then came season 3 and the episode Feast. They were totally wasted. I mean the Guardians are a disaster. They are a joke. Master Su-han is a jerk, and he just makes Marinette handle everything when she's a young teenager!!!!! And Master Fu became a jerk in later seasons. He ignores Chat Noir, creating tension between him and Ladybug when they're supposed to work together. His no one must know ur true identities also creates stress between the pair. Also he barely trained Marinette to take over as Guardian of the Miraculous leaving her unable to handle it. He's the worst mentor figure ever!!!

Fr I want to know more about the guardian from the New York special cuz he is such a mystery and has a box filled with other miraculous. We see him in the end scene then poof he’s gone and we never hear anything again. What rubbish! Honestly I would like to see in season 6 like a letter or something about Suharn and Fu’s relationship in the temple like why did Fu become a life long hatred to Suharn? What a waste of blabbing about rules this rules that like throw away the rule book and explain yourself Suharn from what in the name of the law happened cuz from what Fu told us he was hungry and made feast to get food then he demolished the other miraculous but why was Fu chosen to be a guardian? Yeah totally wasted potential there. Your suggestion would have made for a better build up for Wu’s departure. They could have given Su Han the excuse for his absence during season 4 as him searching for others missing miraculous like that other guy from the New York special. But nope it had to be a joke, an admittedly goofy joke but still a joke. There’s still time to make good use of them though. But the writers seem more interested in romantically traumatizing Marrinet than proper world building.

The order of the monk wasn’t just a big let down but it’s just a very large issue in the world of miraculous like why didn’t they put some type of magical spell on the miraculous that stops them from being used for evil they do know magic and those who do use them for magic just have the knowledge to break the spell. Also I don’t see the point of them having it where Ladybug and Cat noir can’t reveal their identity’s in season 4 because they’re going to have them do it for real in like season 7 probably or just next season it’s very dumb will the world end then as well? Ladybug being able just to tell Su Hun to shut up and sit down is very annoying and undermining for Su Hun as a character like or yeah the celestial guardian of the most POWERFUL miracle box gets talked down by the regular guardian who is a damn TEENAGER I feel like Su Hun should’ve taken the miracle box away but still have ladybug able to grab the miraculous out of her yo-yo so that it’s also Su Hun that has to take the blame instead of him saying “ I got distracted by the modern world “ Also cat noir should’ve been given some kind of explanation of what’s happening with the order and all that also some kind of power boost with his powers so he can match Ladybug.

Another wasted character potential is the villain arc of Audrey Bourgeois because she was getting set up to be an accomplice to Gabe along with Mrs. Tsurugi, but that meant we'd have to continue Chloé's redemption. Once Austruc got on his train of continuously trying to convince his audience Chloé's the literal Anti-Christ, there wasn't much need for Audrey in the story other than as a piece to bring Zoé into the story, and enable all of Chloé's behavior. This could have been a major moment for Chloé where she is confronted with the fact her mother is a terrible person and has been standing for everything she'd been standing against when she was Queen Bee.

I would have loved to see Su Han train Luka, Jagged and Penny but we don't get that. Instead, they leave Paris and the next time we see them, they're suddenly members of the Order. How did they meet Su-Han?! He couldn't have known Luka had been a miraculous holder. It would've seemed weird if they bumped into each other and randomly mention the miraculous since they're not exactly common knowledge if the specials are anything to go by. I mean they make the Order to be a secret, sure the temple was reported on the news and everyone knew Viperion's identity, but if Hawkmoth hadn't revealed himself in the first episode, no one would have heard of it. The United Heroes had no idea Paris was facing terrorist attacks in the New York special. Fu did really train CN and LB. He just gave two teens magical (dangerous) artifacts and was like 'You're on your own, kids" we were barely taught anything about the miraculous. Where did they come from? What's the source of their power, how is a new holder chosen.
