Agree with everything queen! Absolutely bonkers how people actually think they left ambiguous if marinette did make the right choice... girl did you not see the dutch angle???? LMAOO but for real her voice, the camera angle, the way cristina delivered the speech... they very clearly paint her in the wrong and sort of similar to how they approach g*briel/ lila visually and performance wise. It seems like s6 will rely heavily in those parallels. I feel scared bc marinette is already an overhated character so i don't know if her having a corruption arc and being morally grey, needing to learn to correct her mistake, is such a good plot to give her. Very sorry we didn't get an adrien/ plagg reunion, adrien getting the rings or him first reacting to the information "ladybug was badly hurt bc he wasn't there, and g*briel sacrificed himself for her". Astruc really thinks he throws a ladynoir rooftoop scene at us, make chat say something like "you and me, like old times" and everything is okay in their dynamic. I fell for that in s4, but they are not fooling me again! Like it was cute, but it just feels kind of empty bc we know it never leads to anything, we never see them be truly a team after that, and with the new heroes i don't know how they will fix their dynamic and give them the focus that was much needed in s5. Also the fact adrien was just orphaned and was so calm and collected and understanding was kinda weird, like marinette was all over the place in this special (for good reason) but adrien in the last scene feels like he just had a regular bad day, not the "dead of his father that was abusive and he thinks is kinda his fault and also his superhero partner got hurt" kind of day 😭 in s4 and s5 his go-to reaction seems to be emotional/ explosive / rash first and here it felt off. Can't believe people were saying he "learned his lesson from s4 that ladybug needs to keep secrets sometimes" WHAT ?? where even did that came from?? s4 finale is ladybug regreting lying and keeping him in the dark, chat didn't learn secrets are necessary (nor did he need to learn that bc is objetively wrong between them). Sorry for the long rant this special hasn't leave my mind. Great video as always ♥

Personally I think Marinette lying to Adrien was a good choice. Was it morally good? No. Did Marinette do the wrong choice? Yes. But from a writer’s perspective, it makes sense. Bc it opens the door for her to be exposed and everyone lose trust in Ladybug. It can have Adrien be so mad at Ladybug but still love Marinette, which would cause tension. Lila would definitely do this, she’s the only one who knows everything and WOULD expose Marinette/LB. (Only my opinion though so pls don’t bash my opinion or say I’m wrong for thinking it 🫶🏽)

Like does she really think Adrien would be happy living with his abuser in full control while having to lose the only person that ever cared about him? If anything, Adrien's life would be twice as worse if Marinette did make the wish. Also THANK YOU for pointing out how weird the "Gabriel Agreste finally a good father" line was. I want to believe that this is a consistent character flaw of Marinette, because the episode bubbler firmly establishes that she simply just doesn't understand how child abuse works and think adults can do no wrong. However sometimes, it does feel like the writers just use her character to justify their questionable writing choices. I also completely agree with setting up vs execution when it comes to miraculous. I know a lot of us are having high hopes for angst because of this special but knowing that the hawkmoth reveal was first set up in collector but it took this show 4 more seasons to actually resolve it, I won't be surprised if all of this is foregotten and we'd have to wait 10 more years for all these plotlines to play out. Because the season 6 synopsis treats Marinette and Adrien being Ladybug and Chat Noir as the biggest source of conflict in their relationship. Knowing the creators, I actually wouldn't be suprised if they broke up in the same way Lukanette and Adrigami did and we go back to square one. They just love the status quo too much.

@@TheCartoonHotspot Gosh youtube just made my long reply disappear. 😭 But basically I said, by the end of season 5 with how horrified Marinette reacted to seeing Kagami and Adrien in those mental torture rooms, she should realise how abusive Gabriel really was. But I think her own experiences of growing up with a healthy family cloud her judgment so as a result she tends to downplay others and as well as her own experience when it comes to being done dirty by these so called "responsible adults". Sadly this happens to many abuse victims in real life because everyone looking at their situation from the outside are likely to side with the abusers because they think "these kids are just overreacting/too emotional". This is also evidenced by how differently Adrien and Marinette veiw Master fu. Even though he was a crappy mentor to both of them, Marinette never seemed to have the same resentment Adrien did. Heck even in this same episode, she downplayed Nathalie's terrorism and murder (didn't she witness Sentibug's death with her own eyes?) because she believes Adrien is better off living with a horrible adult in his life than having no adult at all. Either the writers set this all for Marinette to get a arc about how "authority figures are actually useless and we should take matter into our own hands" (kinda like how LB and CN realised they were handling the chloe situation poorly) OR that line was just meant to justify the poor writing. I can't tell which one

You were actually completely incorrect about Gabriel remembering being the collector! He remembered nothing, he just knew what the plan was, pretended to not be hawkmoth. When he was deakumatized he knew he succeeded. You also see him not remember anything as night tormenter. The only times people have been shown to remember things after akumatization are when they broke out of hawkmoths control on their own, defying him.

Thank you for sharing! So many of the reactions I've seen are just talking about how much they loved the special and are stoked for season 6. But it's exactly as you said. We've been here before where some potential plot or character arc has the groundwork laid out and then the delivery either falls flat or seemingly is ignored or forgotten. In addition to this show's long-standing pattern of doing this, the creators and some of the VAs have said season 6 will be a soft reboot. So in a way, they're already admitting some things that seem to have relevance will be intentionally left out.

As far as I'm concerned, whether Bug Noire is telling the truth or lying, Adrien would have collapsed just the same. After all, think about how much it took Adrien to be left without not only a mother, but also a father. And now we can imagine the alternative, that Adrien finds out that the evil that he fought against and made the lives of innocent people miserable was his own father all along, that his accomplice was Natalie, who gives motherly love, and that he is actually not a human but a sentimonster. I think that of the two, this was the less bad decision on Marinette's part, in whose defense it should be said that she herself doubts her decision, that she lied to the boy she loved and to the whole world. As far as I'm concerned, the creators directly decided this way to increase the curiosity and tension among the fans, so that more people could watch the upcoming seasons even more excited. Which was successful from my point of view. And I give the special edition 9 out of 10.

Not only is that counter-intuitive to the purpose of the butterfly miraculous, but also, that's never been a problem every time Gabriel did it to himself. F@ck the ambiguity! Marinette saw herself talking, that was some straight up, capital V, Villain monologue. To me, it didn't look like they were trying to justify the HORRIBLE writing in the S5 finale. It was more about salvaging, filling in the blanks and setting up for what's next. Lyla is already impressive. And the amount of stuff that weights on that one lie... is gonna be very entertaining to see when it all comes crashing down. (If they don;t royally mess it up) The Miraculous writers are best at stalling. I've never heard something more true.

It’s so funny that nearly everyone hates the yellow Chronobug outif, because high vis shirts come in a range of colours, traditionally yellow or orange, but you can get pink as well as more women are doing those types of jobs now. Pink ladybug would have been awesome! But I did love how the reflection tape became reflective spot on the suit and they really popped when she was fighting Time Stalker in the darkened room like they were glowing. Such a cool detail!

Quite literally the only reason why I didn't think it was Adrien akumatized was that I didn't think the writers had it in them to let Adrien have a bigger role. I watched people's review of the special, knowingly spoiling myself, before watching it myself. I wasn't going to watch it at all, but some people said they liked some scenes and the music was really good, that and that the specials are usually bangers. I also didn't fall for the Ladynoir scene in the end because... look how that went the past few times. Even if/when Adrien finds out the truth, it would probably be in one episode where he's upset and then forgives Ladybug at the end and saying that she was right and he was wrong. Rating the specials, I'll put this one #2 after the Paris one, Shanghai #3 and NYC #4. And the Christmas one in a bottomless pit of Hell. The original plan was to pull a "Origins" with this plot, i.e. putting this story at the end of S6 in the form of a two-parter. This was scrapped and turned into this special. Also, if you can find it, commented versions of Evolution and the S5 finale by the 4 writers are available. I found them on TF1+ and to this day they're still here. It's in French without subtitles but that's better than nothing (and for me it's not a problem at all 🇫🇷 😜 ). Access to TF1+ is free, only a registration is needed. But maybe you'll need a VPN now that I think of it 🤔.

I am on the board with the way you feel. I can see how this storyline of Marinette keeping secrets can be interesting, but It loses all of Its point because It is just stalling a story that we have been following for 9 years. Even more than that, the current premise is significantly less interesting than the one they threw away: Adrien realizing he had been fighting his father, who was trying to bring his mum back to life is infinitely more interesting than having Marinette telling and Adrien being angry for a while. Not to mention the huge list the show has of terribly handling their own ideas. In s4 there was a big set up where CN was finding about secrets LB had been keeping, lies and also the fact she broke her own rule and revealed her own identity willingly. However, all of the anger/disappointment is seemingly solved in an episode where none of the issues is even remotely mentioned (kuro neko). And, apart from a slight argument in the s4 finale, CN's findings are never brought up again. So much so that in this special he is totally okay with the fact that LB doesn't tell him absolutely anything about the defeat of Monarch: the person CN has been fighting alongside her for a whole year! When just a season ago he was complaining about never being told anything. And yes, Adrien has been totally side lined. I'm sorry, but I can't even feel bad for him when he gets the news about his father. He was the one who chose to sit back and give up, when every other character with a dedicated voice actor was fighting back. They've ruined the entire Evil father - hero son plot for the sake of creating more content on It.

first of all, miraculous world specials ALWAYS eat with the intro and intro music. I HATE how marinette really just let a terrosit and child abus3r get away with everything. She really should have told the public and adrien the truth. But the foreshadowing and camera angles in this special really make me think her lying is all gonna blow up in her face eventually in s6. Its just so sad to me that adrien see's his abus3r as a hero and doesn't fully recognize how horrible gabe was to him. Its heartbreaking bc adrien clearly loved him SO much, but gabe never showed that love back and that was all adrien wanted :(

I really enjoyed the show, but there are some parts that I find disappointing. For example, I hate Gabriel's redemption arc because I don't think he deserves it. However, I do like Natalie's character development, as she was a mother figure to Adrien. I also think that Marinette is too forgiving and oblivious to the actions of some adults. She considered Master Fu to be a good mentor, even though he wasn't. I understand that Adrienette is a perfect duo, but they were only 13 or 14 years old when they got their miraculous, and they had to fight a terrorist (People die in Miraculous from the damage caused by the akumas, even though they are all healed by the lucky charm.) It's a tough situation for kids to be thrown into. I believe that Gabriel didn't deserve a character arc, but Chloe did. We all know what happened to her. I love all the characters except for Gabriel, Lila/Cerise, and Tomoe, but I think the writers can do so much more with the show. It's sad to see this happening to my favourite show. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope that Marinette will come clean about everything and finally include Adrien bc this is Miraculous Tales of Ladybug AND Chat Noir EDIT Loved your reaction, you got a new fan ☺🤗

I have a theory that lila/cerise's wish was to remove ladybug from the universe, because in chat blanc episode, chat blanc was about to cataclysm the entire universe but ladybug stopped him by "giving up" her miraclous to him, ultimately defeating him in the end. So, if ladybug didn't exist than chat blanc would have went through with cataclysming the universe, making it so that universe was destroyed as a result of lila wish. Honestly speaking from a viewer's perspective, It was obviously the wrong choice and it's intentionally the wrong choice. The writers are obviously setting this up to backfire on Marinette. I'm sure Adrien will get to know the truth soon and get the apology he deserves, but what I'm more worried about is actually how the fandom will treat Marinette after. She's already so overhated(undeservingly) I saw just here at the comments but I don't see people liking her a perfect character nor will they apperciate how flawed she actually is. I'm just gonna point this out though, but Marinette IS the main character. While Adrien gets a proper screentime and focus, it doesn't make sense to be disappointed if the show moves it's story through Marinette. And young girls needs their female superhero that saves the day. This show might not be perfect, but It's a huge testament how this is the one of the very very few ssuperhero eries for girls while thousands and thousands were made for boys. Marinette SHOULD be the superhero that saves everyone in the end. And personality wise, it will always makes sense considering her intelligence and leadership. And i will always stand by that, it's called miracolous ladybug for a reason. Going back to this though, while I don't agree with her decisions, I appreciate it from a writer's perspective too. Yes, she is the always the one saving the day, she is the one who always learns devastating truths, she's the one who chooses what other heroes can learn, she's the one who has to make hard decisions. Responsibility is a heavy burden and while Cat Noir is her partner hero, she is the one who carries world on her shoulders. And the fact is, she's just a child. She was a child going up against a grown ass adult. I don't think any other character in her position could've done something better or even had an easier choice. Marinette herself has gone through many traumatic events that are unaddressed cause she either can't share it or it's becasuse she's done something wrong so instead of focusing on her own feelings and how it affected her mental state, she's simply gonna keep thinking about the decisions she's made. With that one scene we obviously where she ranks herself in importance when it comes to priority. I don't agree with sacrifices but in the end Mari IS the kind of person to put her whole life for the people she cares about. In the end, I think it's been well established and I personally also feel that she made the wrong decision, but I don't think I can ever blame her for it knowing what's she gone through and will continue to go through. I'm just glad Natalie's alive

I did go into this special thinking adrien would be akumatised, but that didn't happen. Oh well I'll be giving it a 7/10. I feel like this special doesn't deserve to be less than 7 or more than it. I knew that marinette was going to lie to adrien so wasn't suprised at all😅. Like when she was telling him abt his father, i was getting so frustrated. Istg, the redemption we got in S5 were painful to watch (Felix, Andre the mayor, Sabrina, Gabriel). Living all the characters aside, where was Felix? Like bro literally lives in london and in the S5 finale, his mom was also in danger. Like the whole world was turned into miraculized (i think that's the name. I don't quite remember it 😅) and he was the only one who had a miraculous apart lb and cn. Apart from the S5 finale, i really hate felix and i think that he doesn't deserve a redemption. Like in his debut ep, he sexually assualted lb and never apologize. Came in the S4 and gave all the miraculouses to gabriel without any regret or remorse of what it would do to the city and how dangerous it would be. He never apologized for that as well. Made a return in emotion and snapped everyone out of existence but never apologizes to the city and only does that to adrien bc marinette was missing. Came in pretension and stalked kagami and thay even gave him a love interest and got no consequences for his actions in any of the ep that I've mentioned. And then in representation, he gives marinette all this info for him to only disappear in the finale. I'm convinced that he is the real mary sue of miraculous. I don't think he is well written andis probably the worst written character ever imo😊. Every single ep he is in, he always has different motives
