People want to blame the companies but ignore that the only reason that this stuff happens is because of fan perception of idols. They have to be the perfect shape. They have to be the perfect weight. They have to look a certain way. Their performances have to be perfect. Then they wonder why idols get anxiety and mental health problems when it comes to performing and take it out on the company. Maybe look at yourselves first for the industry being the way it is.

I have endometriosis and get such extreme cramps that I had to be give prescription medicine to take the edge off the pain. And it’s not just cramps like most people think. Many of us get extremely nauseous, dizzy, get headaches/migraines, have horrible back pain etc. and it always makes us way more self conscious too because we’re always worried that it will show through our clothes. Imagine being on your period and performing while wearing a white tutu.... I’d never been so uncomfortable wearing anything in my life than a white tutu during my period.

It’s sad that revealing clothes are essential in the industry. Modesty and warm clothes can be stylish too. - don’t know how the comment section resulted into a cultural war since this comment obviously and clearly just states that if idols or performers are cold they should be able to wear long clothes. Moreover, nowadays it seems that very thin and short clothes are considered more attractive which is why I brought up the point “modesty” which is dressing more (in this case according to the weather) and still be attractive. Ain’t got nothing to do with religion. Be respectful. That’s a start for preventing misunderstandings. :)
@sufiaansari99813 жыл бұрын
Yes why do girls wear short clothes to reveal their body to men ??or to show off their body ?Logically men are getting whatthey want 'women in short clothes to lust upon' and women are giving them exactly what they want by wearing short clothes . Men have been a lot vocal about short clothes and when someone is molested its ultimately blamed on the size of cloth . Girls dont let men control and brainwash you . ?Men wear full clothes in almost all circumstances but women attire are just getting shorter day by day and that's concerning. Modest clothing should be provided to these female idols cause they are at a risk of being preyed on by men hope they are safe .
@VS-uh6rf3 жыл бұрын
And what's even crazier is that Korea has a huge problem with women owning up to their bodies and if you are not modest, apparently you're trash? (Refer back to what happened to Sulli) But then, these companies are forcing the girls to show skin all the time? Make it make sense :(

There's a few people that like chubby people. But in general a healthy looking person has a limited amount of fat. So chubby can be perceived as borderline fat/unhealthy. It's basically written in our genes to not want to like that. This is enforced by modern media to certain extremes to be sure. But fat people? Well, I wouldn't promote that. One, you're unhealthy and likely to have all sorts of complications, grievances or struggle with self image (don't think that this is external, especially for women). And a second part is how the outside world treats them. It's naieve to think people "shouldn't do this" because it is what people do and always will do. "Can't we all just get along" never helped anyone in practice. It's idealistic and unrealistic.

i hate how the double standard is REAL, when a male group does sth wrong, no one attacks them, everyone protects them, but when a girl group does something wrong, or not even wrong, or doesn’t dance 100%, they get attacked, it’s so sad, it hurts knowing that the double standard is real, being an idol is hard, but being a FEMALE IDOL is WAY HARDER, they get slvtshamed on the internet everyday, they get attacked everyday even if they did nothing wrong, when they smile, they get attacked for trying to “be the attention”, when they don’t smile, they get attacked for “being rude”, when they don’t react to other gps’ performances, they are called “rude”, but it’s always fine when a male idol does that, YOU DONT OWN IDOLS. THEY REACT IF THEY WANT. THEY SMILE IF THEY WANT. RESPECT IDOLS ESPECIALLY GIRLGROUPS. and the fact that the ones who always attack female idols are also women😭my respect for FEMALE IDOLS is extremely HIGH, theyre so strong, if i were them, idk if i could survive, i just love girlgroups so much.❤️

Jennie once did not react to Gidle’s performance & lots & lots of people judged her for not reacting, saying she is not a humble idol or doesn’t care for a group who isn’t in the big 3. but i have never seen anyone attack Jimin for not reacting to a bp’s performance. let me remind u again, i am not hating, i love jimin but this needs to be pointed out as you’re saying i am being biased.

Im Korean and these are all facts. But when they're on periods they take pregnancy pills too delay the date. I heard that they're mostly on periods when they are having rests after their comebacks. But the thing is even you want to become am idol you'll probably have to go in the top 3 entertainments in Korea. The reason for this is if you become an trainee in an unknown entertainment, it will be really hard to be recognized in public even if you debut. It's really hard to pass the auditions as you heard there are thousands of people wanting to become an idol like you. So you literally have more than hundreds of competitors. You really have 1% of passing the final audition and becoming an trainee. Or else you've gotta have 80% of your talent in your body to pass through the auditions. Even if you had went through all of these, it will be 2% of you getting in the debut group between all the other trainees. Becoming an trainee in an known entertainment is very, very hard, but debuting is way harder. And yes if you quit on becoming an idol while you were on your taining days, how are you going to catch up with school and studying? Korean school is very strict, you've gotta study really hard to stay on good grades. Ok just living in Korea as a kid is just a hard job.. ㅠㅠ i dont have any energy left to explain all the studying and life of being a student in korea. 😅 if your wondering how it is find my long comment in BTS N.O mv.

(If you remember those Russian girls case that went viral). Foreign idols recieve less salary compared to the Korean members. Just because they aren't korean. Also, if anyone joins a small company there will be budget and financial issues which eventually leads to disbanded groups. the saddest thing is that it's not just men who make female idols' lives difficult. yes, men have and continue to violate the idols' safety, privacy and boundaries, and that should be called out, but i don't think we pay nearly enough attention to how women too often are the source of other women's hardships. it's often female fans who make fatphobic comments and body shame idols and female managers have a horrible record of forcing the idols they're supposed to be looking after to starve/ over-exercise while fat-shaming them. Female staff too often are complicit in wrecking these women's (and young girls) self-esteem, mental health and physical health. the worst part is that most of the time they're not doing it with evil intentions the way men do. It's trauma that they've experienced and internalised from men, and are projecting onto other women because that's the standard for them.

A lot of the problems women idols face could be made better by a better stylist team. If they were allowed to wear pants, cover up more skin, and wear suitable shoes, then they would hopefully feel more comfortbale and maybe even be less objectified. Women don't need to look sexy in order to be appreciated. Let them wear comfy clothes and show off their talents without having to care about looking "perfect".

it's not just the stylists though, a lot of ppl get mad at stylists but most of the time their outfits have to be approved by the company. so a stylist could've many times tried to dress an idol more warmly but due to companies being strict on their groups images and standards, they most likely send the stylists back to the drawing room to fit their liking.
@Umeshukitsune3 жыл бұрын
If they started doing that then their management would fear they were losing out to groups who wore less appropriate clothes =/ the industry needs to care more about their idol's health over money.

I think yg in terms of these yg is way more better than other companies. Teddy the producer of blackpink always make sure that there are female staffs around them(I once read an article about it) . Also I have never seen blackpink or other yg groups being very exhausted because of overworking atleast yg give them rest instead of giving them constant comebacks . And I have never seen blackpink wearing uncomfortable clothes except for one time but after that never. Also I have never seen yg artists doing diets they always eat whatever they want. I feel like yg is the best company it's just that people don't understand that because they don't know the whole thing. They just believe some random rumours. If I get a chance to choose a company to debut from I would obviously choose yg like I want fair payment of my hard work

No offense but their stylists should try to make them look fashionable, while also covering up the skin during cold weathers. Like, get them tight thick outfits with great colors and designs, it will be a treat to the eyes, while also not letting them freeze to death. Fashion doesn't have to be painful. We literally have TONS of fashionable pieces in different materials and fittings, for these reasons. So that we can keep up the aesthetic sense WITH comfort. Not while sacrificing comfort. It's so shallow of those stylists to not acknowledge the variety of options and just keep going for revealing stuff despite the cold weather.
@xWhackoJacko3 жыл бұрын
Fame is lowkey sad. I think that's part of why people get so invested in these groups, or specific people within them. They want to see the sacrifice pay off. The issues definitely appear worse for the female idols though. I mean TWICE alone had Mina take a break due to anxiety; and now Jeongyoung too. And Jihyo def got a lot of shit for her weight. The companies shouldn't be waiting for them to break before they consider their mental and physical health. Seems like bad strategy even if we're only talking business. People don't want to see 8 of 9 members of TWICE. They want to see ALL the members of TWICE. Not taking measures to ensure the girls aren't going insane from the workload, the general pressure an idol must feel every day, the toxic bullshit on the internet (kpop fans are...really bad. like, really really bad), etc; shouldn't be an after thought. Should be at the forefront.

The scary thing is that they did not seem concerned by it as they were still extreme dieting for 'Aya' as they spoke...and by the way their song producer was eating a pizza 🍕 Its so disturbing to me how in kpop that very dangerous behaviour is considered healthier that putting on weight. It's sad to see that most of the hate that female idols get come from female fans themselves. You rarely see male fans hating on female idols while worshipping male idols. Reasons why I am a GG stan: The perseverance they have to continue despite all the aughts they have to confront and the things they have to do against their will I just love female kpop idols, they are amazing, they are so brave and courageous, I admire them, only god knows how many things they have to face only to achieve their dreams, yet the sad part is that they risk as many things and maybe more than male idols, yet they get all the cr*p, hate and insults from everyone, even other women, meanwhile the male idols may also get hate but they are also highly praised, from the statistics I've watched 80% of the kpop fans prefer BGs over GGs, and there is nothing bad in that, the only thing that may be wrong is that you hate on those idols you don't support, I am a GG stan, for some reasons I absolutely love female idols, idk why, I just do they are my absolute faves, but that does not mean Im gonna hate on male idols, I support them, in a way that I don't hate on them or diss them, I just, listen to their songs or watch their MVs or presentations every once in a while, yet I'm not their fan, and I think that's ok, people have asked me, why do you support them if you don't like them?, and I've answered them, The same reason why you shouldn't throw hate to female idols, they have risked a lot, they've worked really hard, and god knows how many difficulties they may have to surpass yet, they deserve respect.

For the outfit things I really appreciate RBW’s work they give freedom to Mamamoo to participate in their outfit creation and decide which clothes to wear in music shows Like moonbyul doesn’t want to reveal herself too much so she always wears pants .She seldom wears skirts . And Hwasa ,she choose the outfit which she wanted.Which she thinks is suitable for her. One of the example is 2018Mama ,she received lots of hate and criticism becuz of this outfit but this outfit is what she wanted to wear and felt comfortable with it. She was showing her CONFIDENCE.
