A practice I used to do and need to return to was to do my planning for the next day at bedtime. I would count the number of hours I had available in the number of hours my tasks were likely to take. That helped me understand if I was gonna have a high-pressure day or a relaxed, chill day. That way I woke up in the right gear for the kind of day I was going to have rather than taking it slow and then figuring out midday, I had a lot to catch up on.

Really cool to see that my bullet journal system covers most everything except time sensitive tasks and a calendar! The bullet journal method includes input and captures, notes, task management (I use an app for recurring tasks and things I want reminders about), and a day planner. People do manage their schedule in their bullet journal but it's way easier for me to just use a digital calendar for planning ahead.

You nailed it. I hadn’t used really any kind of analog methods since college- Finally added a paper notebook back into the mix last year and it’s such a game changer. If my “daily” is on my phone or computer and the screen locks, it’s out of sight out of mind. And then it’s way too easy to say “no biggie, I’ll just change the date to tomorrow.” Meanwhile, my Cousin is sitting there wide open judging me. For me it becomes an accountability tool. Also with task managers I get overconfident and plan way too many things because digital space is endless. With a finite piece of paper I can immediately tell if I’m being unrealistic on how much I’m expecting to accomplish. Great video!

On days when I'm working on more than one project, day planning 'saves the day' -- and it's how I use the notes pages in my Hobonichi Weeks.

So as I've started dialling in my productivity systems this year, I actually worried that I had too many systems and was overcomplicating it. Appreciate the reassurance that this isn't the case! So glad to have found the channel.

Just wanted to thank you because this video really, really helped me with my overwhelmed state! Since I started a daily schedule, I have felt more in control of my to-do lists and have actually been more productive (and calm)! I have been able to prioritize tasks more effectively, and be more realistic about what I can accomplish during certain slots in my day, because I was able to see the amount of time I had available. It really was the missing piece in my system!!

I always thought I wasn’t a day planner person but I’ve been using a mini whiteboard on my desk where I write appointments and priority to-do items every morning. And I was today years old when I realized that it’s the same.

I use day planner with full focus only for my work and other 4 are only for my personal life usually. Because I want to forget about my work once I close my planner. But since I changed my workplace I dont really need day planner anymore. But I always adapt my planner to my work needs. So I will have rolling weekly+calendar+daily pages.

Yes! I added a written companion to Akiflow last week. This has been working for me. I use Akiflow to capture and plan my day and shutdown. Then I have my one notebook for everything as a day planner and tracker bc I don’t always have Akiflow pulled up.

@jessekafoxx7 ай бұрын
@@debracox9277 yes, but through a tool called IFTTT ( If This Then That). If you create an account there, you can use it to connect Akiflow to OneNote

I do this when im feeling overwhelmed in my weekly view. Just open a blank page, write down the day's important tasks, and number them. Especially for work stuff. It can be the thing that gets me started

I can't day plan consistently - my days and brain is flexible 😂 but I use my Hobo Weeks blank pages to jot down a day's To Dos as and when I need to. As it isn't daily, and not super long lists, the 70+ pages there are plenty. Definitely day planning is effective on busy days.

Honestly, I think there is a 6th-goal or habit planner. I’ve felt like something is seriously missing from my current system and its goal setting, then breaking those goals down into actions or habits to develop to meet those goals throughout the year. I used to bullet journal but my life got too complicated to fit in the time to set it up and maintain it. It included this goal-setting piece though and I haven’t found a good digital alternative.

I love things 3, but I open it and scroll through….yup, yup, yup….. I see it, but nothing gets done. It’s not that important, I can do it tomorrow. Then days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months and the same stuff just keeps popping up and if they are repeating tasks I just go delete one (or more😊). Writing it down and then writing it again, and again causes friction which makes me want to get the dang item off my list. I am sure that is not everyone’s problem, but it is mine and it is a bad problem😂

ah yes another paid promotion video, the days of creating for us only is over.
@Stormbrise7 ай бұрын
Maybe consider how much time and cost it takes to make a video for you to view. Of which based on her number of subscribers and how many views she gets, grants her little payment from the KZbin algorithm. So, if you do not like the paid ad, then fast forward over it, get a cup of coffee, pace around the house/apartment, but do not criticize for someone having a sponsor to help offset the cost to make their video that you otherwise enjoy watching. Such as camera, a tripod, extra planners to show, pens, paper, etc. Or just remember what people always say, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. No reason to troll her for using a paid sponsorship. However, this particular paid sponsorship may not be something I would ever use. I tried it once, but no apple calendar integration makes it a no go for me. I refuse to let google track and target ads on me based on what I am doing on my calendar. My gmail account is trash mail, so there is no real targeted ads ,since that algorithm is pretty much confused. Newsletters I sign up for a discount, or a win this or that, nothing of importance ever gets sent to gmail.
