Completely agree with the drop. I believe it’s the one thing that would convince runners to try them out. The durability of Mizuno is years beyond any other shoe on the market.

For those that want a lower drop Mizuno shoes ,can go with the SkyRise line. They have 8mm and the weight is about the same of a Wave Rider. It is like the Gel-Cumulus/Nova Blast from Asics. A few years ago I started to buy a 12mm drop shoes every year for my rotation. A few times, it was a Brooks Ghost or a Wave Rider, but now I go Mizuno all the way. These 12mm drop shoes helped me boost my weekly mileage because a higher drop shoes takes less pressure from the calves and feet to cushioning the initial impact vs. lower drop shoes that require a lot more work from calves and feet. The downside is that the 12mm drop shoes can make the glutes work a bit more. Anyways, switching ,during the week, shoes from 12mm to 6mm drop and high cushioning to low stack middlesole shoes my feet and legs got stronger and with 50 years old I run ~60km weekly and I'm not even doing any races. I'm just running for the pleasure of doing that.

Great review. I had the 24 and it was a brilliant do-it-all shoe. I moved onto another brand when the 25 came out as it didn’t work for me as well. I’ve been tempted by the 27 but, as you mentioned in your video, the 12 mm drop puts me off now. 8 mm would be great but, I’d happily compromise with 10 mm.

Thanks! Again yeah starting to back off the 12mm drop would help I think…..

Check out the new Mizuno trainer, pre order starts in a couple weeks. 8mm drop, geometry closer to the Wave Rebellion series, pebex plate. I think its going to fill the hole in their running lineup quite nicely. I run in the Flash 2, Rebellion Pro 2, and Rider 27. Definitely going to pick up this new model.

Hey, I just wanna ask, are these shoes wide or narrow, because my feet are a bit wide and im afraid that the fitting is going to be tight
@motivationtheoryrunning
@motivationtheoryrunning 2 ай бұрын
I would say more wide than narrow. They also have a very stretchy upper.

would this be a good shoe for a half-marathon? I have always wore the wave rider

It’s a everyday trainer, but yeah it could work for a half marathon.

@@roebucksadventure the wave Sky is another favorite of mine…the wave rebellion is a race day shoe made by Mizuno also that isn’t terribly different.

Hi, one of the fantastic video on WR series.. good job, you're subscribed.❤ I'm a mizuno fan, had been using wave sayonara4 for a long time, until last couple of years after I stopped daily Jog. Wanna start my jog again, daily 5k n 8-10k on weekends. I'm 47, 5'11", weighing 170 pounds. Neutral to slightly overpronate. Stuck between WR26 and inspire19 , please advise. Particulary looking for a pair that will inspire me to go out for daily run/jog..

@motivationtheoryrunning 3 ай бұрын
Both are great shoes, the the WR is a stable neutral shoe and the inspire series I have been running in since the 6. If you don’t over pronate a ton the WR is a great shoe. But I love the inspire too😂

@@motivationtheoryrunning wow.. thanks for the super quick response.. don't know but the name 'inspire' inspires me a lot 😂.. anyway I'll go with WR.. Share your experience with sky6 , particulary for jog and day long wear..

Well, the wave inspire series is just the support version of the wave rider… I’ve done videos on the wave sky, and I love that series also but it’s a neutral shoe but very comfortable.. the sky is on my favorite shoes of all time

@@motivationtheoryrunning after watching your video on wave sky, that actually changed my perspective.. plus an additional advantage of 8mm drop in a neutral shoe. With a good cushion throughout the gait, but the lack of wave plate, does sky6 offer reasonably good stability and heel firmness as compared to WR ? WR26 or Sky6..?

I would favor the Sky over any other mizuno shoe.

I am a “bigger guy” 6 foot 223lbs….and this are a neutral shoe but still have some support elements…these could work or even look into the Brooks adrenaline.

@@motivationtheoryrunning I was 422 and now am 390 just from cal def and walking 10k steps a day. Having hard time finding good shoe for my supination. Currently have monstercloud2 but I’m not sure about them. How about the NB 880?

you are goddamn right about the 27, feels good at 7,5+ miles pace cause the drops tilts you forward and the sky 7 feels good/effortless to maintain 4,9/6 miles but slow/heavy 7,5+
