I would love to know what do you think about Industrial Upgrade (russian addon for IC2) and Advanced Solar Panels mod that are addons of IC2, do you like them? would you integrate them into IC2? what do you think about them?

IC2 is so legendary it inspired an entire genre of not just minecraft mods, but also of video games in general if you dont know what i am talking about, IC2 either directly, or indirectly inspired the creation of the indie game Factorio, which then went on to inspire a bunch of other games, like, Satisfactory, Mindustry, and many others!

It's actually a combination of Industrialcraft2 (Automation) and Buildcraft (Logistics). IC2 by itself is kinda... anemic without a large logistics mod.

IC was the first mod I played. It is, indeed, a legendary mod And I still have flashbacks from it when I get flint (Reflexively want to craft grinder)

"Don't jump form 0 to a 100" I'ld say a main thing you need to know about how to start a mod and not get immediately burnt out or overwhelmed by amount of things you need to know and do. Saw a decent amount of projects not getting to any kind of release due having big ambitions and having no idea how to maintain a development (manually projects made by group of people) of such big scale

I saw that too a lot. When I thought of how to describe it initially I was thinking of mumbo Jumbo where he described where he wanted to do a super computer in redstone when he got into it. While that is a good example, I found it rather badly fitting. Also the only reason this didn't happen to me is, once someone flips my stubborn switch, and the IC2Exp team did, I will invest years if necessary to do what i want to xD Though it was extremely unhealthy what I did and I am actively work on me to find healthier ways to work on projects.

I love this content. I didn't start playing until 1.8 so this is like juicy history. Also some subtitles would have helped, it was hard to hear or understand Speiger sometimes.

From what I know, AlexIIL, the last BC developer, isn't working on it anymore. Buildcraft kinda sadly died. And it never got someone like me to really take it over and maintain it. And knowing how the current userbase is, the mod would have been rejected badly. I love buildcraft. And that's why I integrated a ton of features from it into IC2Classic so it at least lives on in my mod :)

@@Speiger The 1.7.10 version of Buildcraft still receives updates and AlexllL still posts on the Buildcraft discord, so I thought it still kind of is in development. I didn't know that you have some buildcraft features in IC2Classic, will definately check it out! Thank you for your contributions to Minecraft modding!

​@@Speiger If you don't mind me asking, why do you believe the userbase would reject Buildcraft? IC2 and BC are the grandparents of almost all tech mods and BC pretty much invented the idea of logistical automation in minecraft I think, its systems ate simple but very much in the vein of modern tech mods do you think it just aged too much compared to other tech mods that kept evolving?

@@Sixela963 You think of the logistic pipes addon. BuildCraft itself never had auto routed transportation. And for the fact why it would reject it: People are so spoiled with automatic routing that they simply would not want to play with something where they have to think enough to setup automatic routing. Any competing mod that has transportation would be instantly preferred even if grinding would be much higher. So the question is: Would you play with pure Buildcraft and automate your base? When AE/Logistic Pipes/Mekanism pipes/TE pipes exist?

for forge vs fabric, everything's already on forge (for like content mods) so theres usually no reason to use fabric, i only use fabric for latest version with fabulously optimized since its just optifine but way better great vid

IndustrialCraft is a brick older than atlantis and I love it all the more for it it's downright user hostile but that's part of it's identity, IC the mod that made you feel like playing minecraft alpha all over again *IMAGINE* your fabric friend plays a modpack with IC in it and it's just such a staggeringly antiquated brick brashly slapping them in the face compared to any other mod. IC2 is a meme

I wouldn't say its hostile towards the users anymore or ever was. I mean it was different times back then too, and A LOT of mods did similar things too. I would just say that IC2 and similar mods are not as "Handholding" as other mods are. Where actual thinking is required to achieve what you want, and you don't get 1 block solutions.
